Why? Why do they keep having these neutral site games? I can maybe understand for big rivalries, but for nonconference games?

Why did he have so much hype? The amount of hype he had coming in made it seem like he was going to pull a Beasely/Durant/Rose type of deal where he was just a stud freshman. Instead he was pretty average.

Well Malcom Kelly completely fucked himself over with his workout today. I think he's still not completely healthy because he definitely ran faster than a 4.6 in college. There must be something in the water in Norman because everyone that plays there gets hurt. Then again AD was good enough to make me not have to worry about draft picks from OU for a while. I was hoping the Eagles would pick Kelly up though so I could sports a sweet Eagles Kelly jersey....doubt that'll happen. Better get ready to get an Eagles Jackson jersey.

Once again Jay Crawford and Dana Jacobson make complete fools of themselves. They just freak the fuck out over Roy Williams wearing the Kansas sticker and when Skip and JA Adande give rational reasons why they don't have a problem with it that fat anti-catholic biatch just flips out on them and is totally flabbergasted by their reasoning. It was funny hearing her say "Well it's been a hot topic around the newsroom" because the fans weren't emailing about it. They acted confused earlier in the show about why the fans didn't have anything to say about it. It's ESPN making a big deal out of nothing again. Seriously, can't they get hosts on that show that know something about sports?

I want the Celtics to win so badly. I just keep getting this bad feeling they're going to lose to the Pistons. It just feels like they're the team with all the hype that the Pistons usually take down.

Well this has been a damn entertaining game so far. I hope the second half continues to be this good.

I know, I said the guys that actually know something about the game(IE. the analysts) are either calling it a toss-up or picking either team. Meanwhile the network and anchors and hosts are riding the Memphis bandwagon.

Man, ESPN is really trying to make up for doubting Memphis. They've pretty much awarded tonight's game to Memphis. They keep saying "Kansas will have to contain Memphis' guards" but I never hear anything that says "Memphis will have to........." I don't really care who wins. To me it's a pick' em anyway. But, ESPN is acting like it's a foregone conclusion that Memphis will win. It's funny because that's the website and the hosts and anchors that act like that. The analysts are like "Well this game is totally up in the air." and you'd think whoever is producing these shows would listen to the people that know about basketball rather than just giving the title to Memphis. I'd better see a lot of fast-break dunks tonight though.

Why can't Jay Crawford do something to get fired? He's talking about how Calipari does smarmy really well then he turns around and comes across as a smarmy asshole himself. "You're both wrong. Memphis will win." and the way he says it reminds me of that Amy Lawrence biatch on ESPN radio. They just have that tone of voice when they make statements like that that says "I'm right you're wrong and that's it. This isn't opinion. I'm right." He just needs to add a nerdy laugh in there and he'll complete that "dork that knows nothing about sports but still tries to tell you how it is" thing he seems to be going for.

I'm thinking ESPN is jinxing Memphis here. Everyone they've completely written off in this tournament has won. I mean they wrote KU off against Davidson because they were sucked up in the Curry hype. Then they wrote KU off against UNC and they whipped UNC's ass. Then they wrote Memphis off against, well everyone and we saw how that turned out. Now after watching their shows today they seem to have completely written KU off as an after-thought to Memphis' big title win. Not good for Memphis, maybe Calipari needs to play a "you give us too much credit" card instead of the not enough one. "The media thinks you're awesome. They've already awarded you the title. Nobody is picking Kansas. Well remember when those fickle sons a bitches were picking against us? They don't know what they're talking about! I haven't seen anything yet! Go out there and prove me wrong!" Then again he seems to have the right approach with the whole not using what others say as motivation. He keeps saying the best way to do it is to measure against yourself and try to beat your last performance. Seems like a sound idea that's worked so far.

He's opening a restaurant in my hometown? *shudders* I feel so dirty.

A little bit cocky? Coach Cal is probably the cockiest coach out there. Well I guess I'd say it's his right. He's backed it up thus far and if they get it done Monday then he can probably use the rest of us peons as a footstool if he felt like it.

Guys you're more familiar with? They've never had an obscure non-name fighter as coach. All of the coaches have been champions or contenders.

Man, watching this news conference Calipari comes across as a little bit cocky. Oh well, I guess he has every right to be. I enjoy watching his team play and I enjoy watching Kansas play so this should be entertaining. I like Joey Dorsey a lot for some reason too......dunno what it is.

I think Davidson was more of a mental block than anything for KU. It was a Southern Conference team(which they had lost to in the first round twice) and they hadn't made it past the Elite 8. I think that was the deal in that game. Against UNC they just came out focused and had a lot of energy to start and then sputtered out because they expended so much emotion and energy. Then UNC made the comeback and probably expended all their energy and KU was able to just use their overall talent at the end to pull away. At least that's what I think happened. I don't think either team will blow the other out, but honestly I don't know who will win. After watching the tournament it looks like a 50/50 deal. I'm not predicting a winner because either can win! I mean Memphis shuts down everyone's guards but KU can go inside, but Memphis can hurt you with their guards but KU has great defensive guards. It's a toss-up for me.

So since I was caught up in the moment with a bunch of KU fans and not able to really study the game.......what the hell happened? KU started off really really hot and UNC didn't look like they had ever touched a basketball before. Then suddenly UNC stormed back and KU was cold from the field then KU just blew them away at the end. It was a very odd up and down game.

Wait.......UNC's usual home court bracket? I thought Duke always got the home court bracket. Or is it whichever one is the higher seed gets it? Oh and KU does have a weakness, they've fouled the shit out of every opponent.

I hope both teams play fast like they did tonight.....maybe we can get a final of 112-110 or something. I just can't see this being a blowout in either direction. Both teams have proven to be very good, then again one could just not show up at all. I thought UNC was going to complete the comeback. It really seemed like that because everything Brandon Rush huffed in Hansbrough's direction he fell down and a charge was called. But, Rush finally played like the player he was supposed to be when he was recruited. This championship game should be really fun.

I was watching this game in the basement of a KU grad's house with a bunch of other KU fans. It was funny watching them run the gamut of emotions. When UNC was within 4 several of them threatened to leave and went upstairs only to come running back down 30 seconds later. When KU completed the victory they all started singing that song, that was strange. Overall I was glad to see ESPN's man-crush lose and then see his dad start crying in the stands.

I guess if I was trying to further an agenda. I don't have an agenda though so they can say whatever they want.

I still say they have a plan and raising it to 4/a gallon isn't going to be permanent. They've done this since prices started spiking. You have a set price that gas has been for a while. In this case it's in the 3.09-3.30 range. Then they raise it to 3.80 and we all flip out. Then they spike it to like 4.00 a gallon and we're like "shit! that's what too much!" and freak out even more. Then they lower it to 3.80 and we're like "Well......that's better." And then we don't complain as loudly as before. They've done it since they started raising prices. But, I don't think that strategy will work too much longer. The thing that sucks the most about this is that we basically have to bend over and take this right now.

The main problem I have with ESPN is that they carry so much weight with the average joe. I try to talk sports with someone I meet and they just regurgitate what they hear on ESPN. I don't like their BS influencing people. Not to mention as a journalist I find most of the stuff they do appalling and offensive to my profession.

Oh.......I wasn't really feeling left out before. I enjoy being a faceless peon in the masses. Then again........since everyone's a mod I guess we're all faceless peons again. Works for me.
