    Report on Reggie Bush

As much as I hate USC I'm still against the school being punished if they had nothing to do with this. I don't know about the Heisman or the national title but the NCAA can take wins away and scholarships and that would suck for the program.

    Report on Reggie Bush

Well if USC knew about this and knowingly turned a blind eye to it then yeah they should be punished because it's probably not the only problem they would have in the program. HOWEVER if it's one of those situations where Carrol is in the dark and his staff is in the dark then fuck no USC shouldn't be punished. Imagine if the NCAA decided to try and make a point b/c of all the recent scandals coming out and slapped USC with a harsh penalty that screwed up recruiting and messed up the program. Would USC fans turn on Bush?

Everyone doesn't know that because it's not true. There was this guy that played at Texas. His name was Vince Young.....he was the best player in 2005 and he proved it all season and at the Rose Bowl.

Wow the Pac 10 and Big XII square off 4 times this weekend and all of them are bad matchups for the Big XII except maybe the OU/Oregon game. USC will roll Nebraska. ASU should have no trouble dispatching a shitty Colorado team. And Baylor while improving still can't win a non-conference road game and I think they will lose at WSU.

Yeah but if we're going to count mistakes as an escape then Oregon's lucky they didn't lose by more because Peterson fumbled on the one foot line. It could've easily been 24-14 as opposed to 17-14. Plus the INT was a great play by Ingram. Wasn't a lucky play or anything. I think it'll be a great game. I think Oregon will win because of the problems OU has had on the road and the fact that they've only looked like a top 10 team for one half. Plus Oregon has a ton of motivation. They have never beaten OU, they got beat in the bowl game last season, and they were embarassed in Norman 2 years ago. Then again OU has a lot of motivation too. And if they play like they did against UW in the second half then they'll crush Oregon. It's going to be a great game and I'm surprised ESPN isn't talking about it more. They didn't even pick a winner at halftime. I think Gamday should be at Autzen. This will be a better game than USC/Nebraska which will be a very onesided affair.

    Report on Reggie Bush

I've heard talks of stripping him of the Heisman. They said that on ESPN. All in all I think whatever punishment comes down will be unfair because it will affect the school and not Reggie. He's in the NFL making millions. Meanwhile his school would be slapped with the scholarship limitations and what not.

No not the one from the TV opening. The one from the movie where they're rolling in the shopping cart. It's really famous almost gothic like with a choir and everything.

What is the name of that song that plays during the opening credits of Jackass the movie? I know it's really famous and I'm trying to DL it but I have no clue what the name is.

Oh man! It wasn't even Zac Taylor that made the guarantee! It was the backup QB! Where does the backup get off talking shit?

Just for the record I'm shockingly on your side. As much as I hate USC I now see the talent they have after watching the Arkansas game. My official prediction is 52-10 USC. I'll be shocked if Nebraska keeps it closer than 17. USC's offense will just run wild in the Coliseum. Apparently OU fans are dubbing this the biggest non-conference game in the history of the school. I don't see that because well it's Oregon and we've played teams like Miami, USC, and Notre Dame in the regular season non-conference in the past. I think it's just that there's a lot on the line(moreso than in a long long time) and this will tell OU a lot about themselves. Plus Autzen is one of the hardest places to play. I'm still picking Oregon but I'd be estatic if OU pulled it out. What are OU's key to victory? Also is there any way Oregon loses this game? Because some people have called into the radio lately and said there's no chance in hell of Oregon losing the game. I think they have to jump out to an early lead and keep it and make some big plays on special teams and defense. Plus Peterson needs to rush for 150 yards and 2 TDs. I still don't agree with Belotti saying OU escaped last year. They just outplayed Oregon plain and simple. The intereception by Ingram did save the game but it was a damn good play and wasn't lucky really at all. Also I've figured out who OU could lose to this season and damn it will not be an easy road. They could lose at Oregon, to Texas, at A&M, at Missouri, and at OSU! I'm not saying they're going to lose all of them but it'd be a damn miracle for them to escape all those without a loss. However they will not lose at home which means Texas Tech, Iowa State, and Colorado are all going down. Oh and they'll beat Baylor at Baylor....duh. Oh and I discovered OU is setting up home and home series with FSU, Ohio State, LSU, Tennessee, and Notre Dame. Not to mention Miami! Calm the fuck down Bob!

Yes but apparently Zac Taylor has guaranteed victory for Nebraska. Ok....... Oregon's coach also claimed that OU recognizes they escaped against Oregon last year. We didn't escape shit. We out played them. Hell if Peterson doesn't fumble on the one foot line then the final score is 24-10 and it looks worse for them.

Young came out his Junior year. His freshman year he played dueling QBs with Chance Mauck and Texas lost to Washington State in the Holiday Bowl because Mack Brown couldn't figure out which one to play. His Sophomore year they only lost one game and it was to Oklahoma(the 12-0 game where Peterson ran wild)and that was the last game they lost until the recent loss to Ohio State. He took over a couple of games his sophomore year(the KU game, the Oklahoma State game, the Rose Bowl against Michigan) but didn't look totally awesome until the Rose Bowl. Then his junior year was the year he should've won the Heisman and he won the national title. I often wonder how Vince Young will be remembered years from now. Do you think it hinges on his pro career? Like if he has a shitty pro career people will downplay his accomplishments by going "Yeah he was a good college player but he sucked in the NFL! Just another one of those!" The cheap shot would've been funny if it were true but it's not. Still a funny thought. And that's f'n hilarious what Bored posted.

Edited for accuracy. Yeah I was going to say something but CC already nailed it. That is who he is compared to. Sorry but it's a fact. I didn't make it up.

When all is said and done Peterson will be remembered as an all time great. People were already creaming themselves over him his freshman year. He was injured last year. Let's see what happens this year. He's going to do better than his freshman year and turn heads. Hell 2 games into the season and just about everyone has called him the greatest player in the country. If he gets what he wants he'll win the Heisman. He wants 2200 rushing yards, 500 receiving yards, and 20 rushing TDs. He should get it all if things work out right and then he'll be remembered because to do it he'll have to do things that make his freshman year look like an average season and he can do it easily. He doesn't get compared to Dickerson and Campbell for no reason.

He's right. They'd have a new QB next season....but that's really the only new thing they'd have. Once I learned his dad had been released from prison early I knew this was his last season. It's kind of funny that he came to OU instead of Texas because he thought he could win a national title here. Instead he gets blown out in his one shot and Texas wins it the next year. Irony and all that stuff. Oh well OU should be solid at RB next season b/c we'll have Alan Patrick(who's decent) and DeMarco Murray(who's supposed to be a star) but Peterson is one of those "Once every 5-10 years" players like Reggie Bush and Vince Young. Doubt we'd see another player like him in Norman for a long time.

Yeah without Vince Young Texas would've been nothing. They would've probably lost to: -OSU two years ago. they were down 35-7 at the half before Young and Benson brought them back. -Kansas 2 years ago. 4th and 20 and Young makes a 22 yard run before making a TD pass. of course this was the game with the Offensive pass interference call that led to Mangino's now famous(at least around here) "That's right! BCS!" speech. -Michigan 2 years ago. That one is self explanatory. -Ohio State last year. -OSU last year(again!) -and USC of course(well they would've never played USC without him) He was everything for them. Mack Brown would probably still be playing dueling QBs without Vince Young. Hell I'm not convinced he won't do it this year. Anyone here been to Autzen? How loud is it and why? I hear the stadium is designed to keep all the noise in. I'm just trying to gauge how loud it's going to be for OU. I know it'll probably be the loudest place they've played in years aside from College Station.

Ok I'll answer. What Texas did last year was more impressive than what Ohio State did this year despite what ESPN says. Ohio State is a way tougher place to play than Texas and Ohio State last year was more talented than Texas this year. Now we need a third game on a neutral field to decide it.

    NFL Week 2

Didn't Roy Williams claim they could put up 40 on the Bears? 40 times getting hit in the mouth? 40 dropped passes? 40 INTs? 40 sacks? Surely he didn't mean 40 points.

Question for those who work out

My military press is about 4/5ths of my Incline Bench Press. Interesting. One thing to keep in mind when discussing this is that people with long arms will tend to have a lower bench press than people with shorter arms. Is that the same thing as people with long arms can't do very many push ups? Because I can do like 5. I just break it down to the fact that i weigh 250 and it's hard to push all that up. Anyway i've never maxed on bench. I weight 255 and I do reps(3x8) with 175 so do the math and see if you can figure what I max.

OU would have better play calling if they still had the monster staff they used to have. Unfortunately when you have the best coaching staff in the country they kind of get farmed out. After losing Leach, Mangino, and Stoops they just weren't able to rebound as far as talented coaches go. They need something on defense though because the Mike Stoops fire left with him. On offense they should be fine with Kevin Wilson. And they still have one of the best head coaches in the country. I don't know about Oregon being able to move the ball at will. If OU doesn't have tackling problems then they will be able to give Oregon some trouble. Sure Oregon may connect on one or two deep passes but for the most part they won't be doing whatever they want on offense. That is if OU figures out how to tackle and play D like they did against Washington in the second half. That's a big if right now. And Oregon did a good job against AD last season. 80 yards and no TDs. Then again he was coming off of an injury and they were rotating him in and out with Jones and Patrick. This season he's played every down except two I believe. He played every down against UAB and against Washington I believe they went 5 wide only twice so he came out there. Thus far he's been the only RB they've used. That's why I hope they redshirted DeMarco Murray(no official word yet) because he's going to be really really good(USC was in on him and he chose OU at the Army game) but he doesn't need to be wasted watching AD with no redshirt.

I would normally say "their run defense sucks? Well then AD is going to have a monster day!" and that might be true if it was anyone but AD. But because it's AD that means Oregon will have 8-9 guys on the line. And it doesn't matter how bad they suck he just can't beat those odds. Maybe they'll play the pass a little more and AD will get free. I mean I guess it's not a good thing to have a bad run D and go up against the best RB in the country.

Ummmm the OU passing games better than it was last season and the WRs are better at that. So they can capitalize. OU's problem isn't on offense it's on defense because they miss so many god damn tackles. Have you actually watched OU this season? If you had then you'd see the not only is Thompson not bad but he's better than Bomar. Yeah he's inconsistent but Bomar was 10x more inconsistent. Thompson can actually play well for an entire game with just spots during the game where he plays bad. Bomar would play good for a half then play bad for the entire half. Not just spots but the whole half. Hell in 2 games Thompson has 4 TD passes. Bomar had 10 all last season!
