Which was more impressive? What Ohio State did this year or what Texas did last year? Anyway it's a big week for Sooner fans as we head to Eugene to face Oregon. I honestly haven't seen a whole lot from OU to make me think they'll win this game. They could but right now I'm calling Oregon. Hell in my biggest state of homerism a few years ago I don't think I could've called an OU victory. I just wonder how Thompson will react to a hostile environment. He's played really really good the first two weeks but this is his first road trip and it's a hell of a place to make a first road trip. On top of that the Ducks are probably pissed that they thought they were being disrespected last season and wanted to make a statement only to lose and in the fashion they did(interception in the red zone after a hell of a drive). Plus OU embarassed them in Norman 2 years ago.

And? The Eagles looked pretty good this week. It's not a guaranteed victory or anything. Not by a long shot.

Dude, this is like the zillionth time you've mentioned ESPN and their sucking off of golden boys. Please shut the fuck up. We get it. Bite me. I'll say whatever the fuck I want to about it. The more you say stuff like that the more I want to talk about it. I think I will some more now. Oh and we have this feature called ignore. If you don't like what I'm saying you don't have to read it! But instead you'd like to just start a big fight by reading all my posts and mentioning it! So you don't want me to actually shut up because you want to keep starting fights! Just ignore me if you have that big of a problem. I was at least used to the fellatio of Vick constantly and at least some of it was warranted. Now I won't know about big Mikey's big runs anymore. I feel like I've lost something. Damn you ESPN and Reggie Bush. Did Lendale White ever get into the game? My claim that he'll be a great NFL running back won't come to fruition if he never sees the field!
-
Man this was weird. Vick had a good game and I was fully expecting for him to be sucked off repeatedly on ESPN.....it didn't happen. They were too busy with their new plaything. How will I know about how great Vick is now without ESPN constantly telling me!?
-
They should've taken Venables off OU's hands. I don't want him here. All his supposed "magic" on D was actually Mike Stoops as we found out. Of course that helps OU....not you. Yeah I forgot about the one point win Edwin. For some reason I switched their score with Kansas who I believe blew their opponent out in week 1. Maybe schools won't be so quick to schedule I-AA schools now? Nah.

Double. See below.

During Texas/OSU Herbstreit made the comment that Adrian Peterson was probably the best player in the country. My gf(who doesn't watch much football but has watched both OU games this season) said "Why does everyone keep saying he's so good? I see these other guys making huge runs and AD always gets tackled almost immediately." I tried to explain to her about his freshman season and that everyone sees the talent and ability he has and I tried to explain to her that he's put up good stats this season while running at 8-9 guys. I also told her that nobody can put up monster numbers and huge runs when the line is stacked every play. But that got me thinking. How is Peterson going to be able to prove that he's the best and put up Heisman numbers when he's going to be going against 8-9 guys? I suppose the easy answer is that he won't and he won't win the Heisman because he's not going to be able to break it enough because they'll swarm on him. Hell even when PT is passing good they still have everyone on the line. Oh and I tried to explain to her what made Peterson different than other running backs but she didn't seem to get it. What do some of you think makes him different and causes guys like Herbstreit to declare him the best player in the country? I figure it's the fact that he's big, fast, strong, and doesn't tire. And if you get him one on one you're dead. And he's a mean runner with a ton of moves. Is that really all it takes though? What else does he have? I know some of you probably think he's nowhere close to being the best player or even the best RB in the country(you're crazy if you don't think he's the best RB). I guess I'm asking the same question as when I asked what made Vince Young so special. He did have a good run for his Heisman reel on Saturday. The defensive lineman grabbed him by the collar and started to pull him backwards(the guy was planted and had all his strength behind it) and Peterson just shrugged him and took off.

Yeah but if these guys knew that's what it took to be a better fighter then why don't they do it? Why do the UFC fighters do it and turn out so good? That's what I meant by intangible. It's like they have more want, desire, and just overall natural skill. -
You act like cupcaking is a new concept in Manhattan. Remember Snyder was notorious for it for the longest time, but not all of it was his fault, I think. He did try his best to get caliber competition (such as Notre Dame, albeit this was during the Davies era), but they apparently felt it wasn't in their best interest. One reason I've heard as to why deals with the stadium size and gate sharing not being "reasonable" for major opposing teams, but I don't know how that shit works so I don't know if that's a legit excuse or not... Anyways, they are playing Louisville in two weeks, so it's not a complete wash. I wasn't calling into questioning the scheduling. I was pointing out that KSU looks good when over the past few years they haven't even looked that great against shitty teams. And I knew you were a KSU fan so it must be cool. How long till this new coach has them as a contender?

With all the talk of Reggie Bush, TO, Carson Palmer, and what not it's almost like ESPN forgot about Michael Vick. I mean I almost forgot he existed!

It was good to see the Cowboys lose just because there's this guy that I work with who's a total dick Cowboy fan. All he does is tell me about how the Cowboys are going to the playoffs and the Eagles will have a worse season than last season. I remember him telling me that they'd struggle to be above .500 and they'd get blown out by the Cowboys. Too bad he quit a month ago because it'd be nice to hear his week one reaction.

I never said they suck horrible. And Texas Tech isn't good...they have a new QB and the same shitty Tech defense they always have. Oh and OU didn't struggle for 3 quarters against Washington. They struggled for a half(if having it tied is a struggle. i figured struggling was losing) and then they destroyed Washington in the third and fourth quarter. And if they aren't that good with Paul Thompson at QB then they weren't any good with Bomar at QB and didn't deserve to start the season in the Top 20 because Bomar was bad and I think Thompson so far is better than Bomar. And if he improves he'll definitely be better than Bomar. Besides the players like Thompson(they hated Bomar) and it's better for a team when they actually like the QB and can have chemistry. I don't understand why people thought they would win a national title with Bomar but now they won't with Thompson. Thompson is just as good if not better than Bomar. They wouldn't have won a title with Bomar. And for the record I agree that Oregon and Texas will probably beat them but that'll still put them at 10-2 and in the Top 15 and probably allow them to finish second in the Big 12 and end up in the Cotton Bowl. Plus since Texas is the 5th game of the season that means they'll finish the season on a 7 game winning streak. Texas Tech will finish 4th or 5th in the Big XII and it's that simple. Based off the first two weeks Oklahoma State may be better than Texas Tech. They will finish behind OU, Texas, Nebraska, and Missouri, and possibly behind OSU. Going into the season I had them finishing there and nothing that has happened thus far has made me change my mind.

And why are Bush's numbers a headline? If any other back in the league had those numbers it wouldn't be a headline. It'd be just another day at the office. With the way they suck him off he's supposed to have 300 total yards and 4 TDs.

I guess you haven't watched any ESPN yet. Well I watch it everyday but I haven't watched it today. Are you referring to the general Reggie Bush cocksucking that goes on or did they say something specific today? Salisbury was in a Saints jersey and a USC helmet...wasn't he?

Here's a question. What is that intangible that seperates a UFC fighter from a fighter that fights at the smaller shows? I mean watching TUF you see these guys that are pretty good but according to the experts none of them except maybe Diego are championship material. So what is it that seperates these guys? And why are already established UFCers(or whatever you want to call them) so much better than the guys on TUF? And why did they make it there on their own merit without going to the TUF route? -
So I hear that CroCop won it all with some vicious knockouts.

Wasn't he everyones pick as Offensive rookie of the year? Everyone except Sean Salisbury. We know who he picked. I was the only Eagles fan in the bar. I was surrounded by Cowboy and Bronco's fans. It's like the Cowboys, Chiefs, and Broncos are the team of choice for Oklahomans with the Cowboys having the biggest(and most obnoxious) fan base. Weird that I haven't met any Texan fans despite the fact we're closer to there than Denver. Hmmm..... Anyway I really enjoyed the Eagles game and I'm looking forward to many more wins this season. Hopefully two of those wins will be against the Cowboys so I can shut up all the Cowboy fans I know. Vince Young looked good before the interception. Yeah he'll throw more but find me a QB that doesn't throw INTs and I'll sell you a map to Atlantis. If they bring him along slowly. Give him a couple of drives in each game then I think next year he'll be ready to start. I don't see this big 2-3 year project that everyone else does. He has a good football head. Some delusional Saints fan in a Bush jersey walked by and said to his friend "All the way to the Super Bowl baby! Our year!" and then they high fived. I didn't know barely beating the Browns made one Super Bowl bound.

Alright off to the bar to watch EVERY game on the hundred billions big screens they have. *sniff* I missed real sundays.
-
Well they probably shouldn't be ranked above OU or Nebraska. And it's an Iggy thing. He always overrates GT stemming from back when he swore they were going to win the national title and they took a Sweet 16 exit. Hey I think OU should stay firmly entrenched between 12-15. Right around where they were. They didn't do anything to drop but they didn't really do much to move up. Also no way Texas Tech is ranked higher than OU. Texas Tech isn't that good this year and they're nowhere near as good as they have been. They will lose in Norman and will lose by a LOT. And no way Texas falls out of the top 10. Like I said I still think they'll probably beat OU(even though i don't want them to and will be rooting for OU and i think it will be close) and win the Big XII. Losing to #1 doesn't mean you just suck horrible. FSU, Michigan, and Tennessee definitely do not deserve to be above Texas. Also no way you rate LSU above USC or Auburn. Hell no way you rate any other SEC team above Auburn. And FSU is NOT a Top 10 team.
-
I'm shocked. Iggy overrated GA Tech. Shocked I say. You should be an official pollster because your Top 25 always looks sooooo good. Stick to gambling. Hey Slayer.....KSU is beating up on lesser competition. I know that doesn't sound good but it's something KSU hasn't done in the past few years. You excited about the new coach? Not excited?
-
Oh and Teke I think it went something like this. You may have heard it on the radio and know more but basically Les Miles made some comments after winning Bedlam 2 straight years that pissed off the OU coaching staff. Mike Stoops being the meathead that he is took huge offense. So after OU soundly trounced Miles and OSU by 40 something points the next season Stoops raised his arms to his sides and said "you want some more of this?" to Miles. Now however Stoops has the crappy team and Miles has the good team and revenge was taken. Meanwhile Bob Stoops couldn't be reached for comment because he doesn't give a damn. I can't wait for Nebraska/USC. I'm pretty sure Nebraska will lose by 20 some odd points but it'll be entertaining for a half I think. What was up with what the USC receivers said about Booty? ESPN made it sound like they were shit talking Leinart in the process.
-
They've looked bad at times and looked good at other times. I guess we'll just have to see. I think you're wrong but oh well. That's all I'm going to say to you about it.
-
Indeed they would cream. But the only problem is Oklahoma has no chance in hell of making it there. OU will lose to Texas. Baylor looks decent so far, I wouldn't consider them a walk for OU, and Tech looks no worse than Oklahoma does this year. And as you said Oregon, A&M, and Mizzou will be tough, I'm calling OU loses to at least two of those five teams, along with Texas. Nebraska is in a similar situation,(USC, Texas, Mizzou, A&M) but the weak North is to their advantage. It's not longer a matter of fact thing that OU will lose to Texas. Not after tonight and not after the way OU played in the second half. And Texas Tech has no chance in hell of winning in Norman. They always play bad and they're nowhere near as good as they have been the past few years. Plus OU has always known how to defend that offense and Tech still isn't great on defense. OU will beat Tech. Guaranteed. If OU loses in conference it'll be to Texas or in the conference title game. Or hell maybe in Stillwater. No matter how bad OSU is they always play OU tough in Stillwater.
-
Well I think Mike Stoops did all that because he hates Les Miles and Les Miles hates Mike Stoops. It all stems from Bedlam.
