New polls out. I don't feel like posting them. Maybe someone else will feel like it. But Texas/OSU is 1 vs. 2. Doug Gottlieb just said on the radio that USC was the best team in the country until proven otherwise....I don't know about that one but they will move up to #2 after the Texas/OSU game.

Yeah but FSU and Miami used to be able to load up. It's just in the past few years that they can't load up. They can load up on defense though....just not offense and especially not QBs.

This defensive speed on both sides of the ball is absurd. The defenses are faster than the offenses! They mentioned something on ESPN radio today. They said that USC has become like FSU and Miami used to be. They just reloaded. People say that about a lot of teams but USC has so much depth it's absurd. It's more than reloading. How are they able to do that? And why can't FSU and Miami do that anymore? They used to be able to but they seem unable these days. It's looking like Texas may be in the same boat as USC now. Just reloading with a ton of depth and talent. I wonder why OU can't do that? I guess OU isn't as sexy of a place to go as Texas or USC even though they have about as much tradition(as evidenced from my signature with the fact they rank #1 in a lot of all time categories). I wish OU could figure out how to reload like that. OU's problem is that the coaching staff gets raped every 2 years by teams looking for new head coaches. "We need a coach! Look up OU's number!"

I'm still firmly entrenched behind Auburn to win the SEC. Because of my football curse though that means they'll lose 4 games.

I usually complain about having to pay for things I don't want to pay for. I think that's everyone though. Like I have no problem shelling out a bunch of money for DVDs but when it comes to buying groceries...I bitch(still do it but i complain). My thing is that I don't like to spend a bunch of money at once. Like if there's two DVDs I want I'll buy one one day and go back and buy another the next day because it just feels like less money. It's also hard for me to shell out actual cash rather than use my debit card.

It's between 2.39-2.45 here. It's just irritating because a year or two ago we would've been freaking out about 2.40 a gallon. Now we're welcoming it. It sucks because they can charge us whatever the fuck they want to and we just have to sit there and take it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I wish PRIDE would hurry up with their DVD releases. They're still backed up to 05. And man some of these DVDs are expensive. Like the one with Jackson/Liddell? It's absurdly high and seems rare. Also UFC 39-42 are absurdly expensive. but they're coming out at a decent rate with the UFC classics DVDs. maybe they'll make it to the 20's before too long.

Thanks King. As much as I hate USC I decided after watching Saturday's game that I'd better get to know these guys as soon as possible because I think I'm going to hear a lot about them this year and next year.

He's got two matches on the show and in the first one he beat the guy with strikes after a mount. I was surprised. I knew he'd never finished a fight in the UFC and I'd heard somewhere that he'd never done it period. I'm glad that I heard wrong on that one.

Well the "Reality Stars" one has been dissapointing so far. I've watched an Evans and Griffin match and both were squashes. Oh well it was only 6.99.

I just saw the Sunday conversation with Bobby Bowden. I love that guy. I don't know what it is but he's just awesome. Maybe it's the fact that he's one of the most honest coaches I've ever seen. If something sucks on the team he'll tell you. I still remember halftime of the Orange Bowl against OU. Rather than going "Well you know we need to turn the intensity up but we're still in good shape!" He was like "Well we're just not playing good at all!" and then admitted why they were playing bad. He didn't dance around it. I swear I've heard him say that players suck too when they're playing bad.

I was thinking "Man no way AD can beat Bush for the Heisman. He's just as good of a runner and he has a better line and a QB to remove pressure from him. No way AD can get the Heisman unless he hurts himself." Now I feel bad for thinking it. It's my fault!

Hey USC fans(909, Porter, Spicy) give me a rundown on the new backs and receivers. I was watching the game last night and I was like "who the hell is that guy?" several times.

Well then KOTC got rights to some of their other underground fights.

What are some other good organizations besides UFC and PRIDE to check out that I can get on DVD? I bought KOTC today. It was pretty much a "before they were stars" type 2 DVD set with Diego, Forrest, Rashard, Stevenson, Franklin, Hughes, Horn, and Militech.

I remember Thompson playing mop up for Jason White. He just didn't do a whole lot of it. But he did have a 60 something yard TD run. I noticed that Thompson forgot he could run last night. The play right before OU kicked the field goal. If he'd just turned on the jets and ran for the corner he would've burned the linebacker and been in the end zone. Instead he hesitated like he was going to put a move on the guy, looked for a receiver, and then went right at the guy. He needs to remember he has those jets. He did have a nice run that was called back though b/c Peterson was holding. I'll wait until next week before i pass judgement on OU's defense. I do remember how they improved last season but unfortunately they play Oregon in 2 weeks! And Texas in 4! The thing was that everytime Venables brought the pressure Brown seemed to know it and he had a play designed to counter it. Basically everything OU did on defense Brown had the perfect counter for. And the OU defense did the same thing that ALWAYS pisses me off. They never seem to just make the tackle. They go for the strip everytime the runner gets a big gain. If it's a two yard run or something then yeah they make the tackle. But if that runner or receiver gets over 5 yards then they try to strip the ball. I don't understand it. There were a lot of sloppy and missed tackles and I was having flashbacks of Ty Gunn from TCU and Stephen McGhee from A&M watching OU players miss tackles on the QB and watching them slide off of him. The defense wasn't a total wash though. Rufus Alexander is still a stud and the guys on ABC were saying he may be the best defensive player in the country. Reggie Smith did his job well after the secondary was so maligned the past few years. I was worried about the safeties but Keenan Clayton had a nice little game. DJ Wolfe's performance was inexcusable though. He got burned twice big! He's lucky that the receiver dropped one. I guess we'll see how they do next week. If they play the same way and Washington runs up the score into high double digits then we know there will be trouble. Doubt Washington will run an option repeatedly though. That option gave OU a lot of trouble last season so I may just mark it down to that being the problem. The offense is fine though. The receivers were doing their job, the O-Line finally started doing theres in the second half, Thompson did his job, and Peterson as always did his to perfection. 4 turnovers does suck though.

Because Al is a friend of mine and I agree with him wholeheartedly. He hit it spot on. Venables was totally destroyed by Brown. His defense looked absolutely foolish. We've discussed this stuff before and I'm sure I'll talk to him more about it at the Tuesday press conference. And I expect Stoops to be in another bitchy mood like he was last week. Traber however was wrong about Paul Thompson. I think Thompson was a bright spot. Yeah he made a couple of bad passes. He overthrew and underthrew some guys. But for someone that has had only one start at QB in his career and played horrible in that game? For someone that has been a wide receiver for the past year? I think he played pretty damn well. I don't know if anyone in Oklahoma even expected him to throw a TD much less 2. And yeah he had two ints but I think everyone expected those to be "right at the defender" type ints.

I'm hoping the OU defense plays better against Washington than they did against UAB. Maybe Washingtons o-coordinator won't be able to out guess Venables like Watson Brown did. Venables just looked foolish. The OU defense has just been missing something since Mike Stoops moved on. Maybe it's intensity? Maybe it's heart? I don't know but the team hasn't been the same since the lost to KSU. Not on offense or defense. Sure in 2005 they were able to skate through on talent and the fact they had Peterson and White but once they met up with a great team(USC) it was all over. I think KSU broke OU. Damn where's my super glue? I'm still calling a loss to Oregon(i think it'll be a blowout loss actually) and a loss to Texas and a possible thrid loss in College Station or Stillwater.

I still don't think Colorado was the best team in the north. It's just the way things fell. Well I guess two major conferences can't schedule crappy opponents. The Big XII and SEC played poker to see who would get to schedule all the I-AA teams. Oh well OU has all D-1 schools this season and two of them are from a BCS conference. Man what a shitty start to the season. OU struggles and USC and Texas blow their opponents out. My worst nightmare! Wait that happened all last season but it was bad then too. The worst thing about USC blowing Arkansas out is now Mark May will jump back on their cock. Yay. I hate that fat fuck. Oh well at least AD had a heisman performance tonight. OU may not walk away with a national title but at least AD will probably have some hardware if he keeps it up. He want 2200 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards. If he gets that he's a shoe in.

What is with these Big XII teams playing a joke of a schedule to start out? ISU, OU, Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech, and Nebraska are the only ones that started out with D-1 opponents. Did they meet with the SEC or something? OU probably had the toughest season opener of everyone in the Big XII and aside from Texas and Nebraska may have the toughest non conference schedule in the Big XII. The local radio dude was going on about how playing at Oregon was a mistake and welcoming Washington is another mistake...but hey they play Mid Tenn State! Paul Thompson played well enough. He'll be ok. He did have the two INTs(one was a tip and one was taken away from the receiver) but he had a good completion percentage, 2 TDs, and more yards than anyone thought he would. I mean it took Bomar 4 games to even throw a TD pass! OU's defense was pathetic though. It was touted as being so awesome and possibly the best in the country. Reggie Smith played awesome and corner and was just plain badass on the kick returns but DJ Wolfe played HORRID at corner and the front 7 looked lost everytime the QB took off with the ball. It was like Watson Brown was reading Brent Venables mind and picking him apart. Venables looked foolish. If OU doesn't fix that then Oregon is just going to throw to Wolfe's side of the field all game long and win 49-10. It was good though that they got Peterson going and good that they got him into the passing game. He had a 69yd TD reception!
