This is a spin-off of the ownership thread. How does your local universtiy or your favorite university treat ALL of it's sports programs? The university charges the most for football tickets, advertises for it and basically treats it like a pro team. EVERY sport at OU is free with a student ID EXCEPT Football and Men's Basketball games. And Men's basketball tickets generally cost 15-25 bucks. Football tickets cost 40-100 bucks(red river shootout tickets are like 65 for students). Most of the universities sports funds go to the football stadium and the team. Most commercials and sponsorships are for them. A basketball player can walk to class without anyone stopping him. Football players have to put on headphones and baseball caps and look at the ground if they want to make it in peace. Now as much as they put into football and basketball as good as they are at that they neglect every other sport. OU ranks among the lowest in baseball facilities. The softball stadium is really small, and the soccer and tennis fields are like nothing. They never advertise for any other sports. I never know when softball, baseball, or women's basketball games are. But if there was no ESPN then I would still know when every football and basketball game is b/c of the way the university treats it. So that's what it's like at my university. Football players are gods. Basketball players are cool. Everyone else.......well good thing you play that sport kid. Good job. But we don't care. At least that's how the university looks at it.

It looks to be between them and Michigan State at this point. It'll depend on the conference tournaments...if MSU can somehow upset Illinois, that should earn them a 3 seed no matter what. If they get to the final, OU would probably have to make the semis to hang onto that spot. Interesting. I would think they could beat MSU. Well they get a bye in the first round of the Big XII tourney. So they're probably going up against a team they beat this year since I think they've beaten all of the heavy hitters in the Big XII at least once. I dunno if they can win the tourney though. That might be KU or OSU's deal. If they try in the tourney. Who knows they may not want to get injured or exert to much energy so they could make a run in the NCAA tourney and that would probably give it to OU. Or one of these dangerous schools like ISU that's on the bubble. BUT the NCAA selects before the Big XII plays the final game of the tourney. So if they select before the Big XII final what if a team that wasn't in previously like ISU wins the tourney? Do they hold out a spot or what?

Oh yeah. And this bracketology says OU will get a 3 seed. I mentioned that earlier but I was wondering how likely that is if they beat Tech?
-
Still let's say that USC had been playing for a month and the Cardinals decided they wanted a preseason exhibition game against USC and USC agreed. Wouldn't the Cardinals murder them? I mean the best college team can't ever beat the best pro-team. Or is baseball just such a different monster that I'm wondering around in the bleachers looking for the ball while the guy at the plate bunts it?

Yeah right. Wake has a 100x better chance than GT of making the Final Four.

Seacrest was really an ass. He's such a dork though that he needs to pick on someone. I can't stand Scott Savol. When he first walked into the audition room and was like "what's up dawg" and sounded like a white Randy Jackson I nearly fell out of my chair.

Is it normal for college and pro teams to play one another? And is it normal for the college team to win!?
-
So this season is actually pretty good. I hate the way the judges pick who they think will win and hedge there bets by furiously sucking cock and pissing on anyone else. I can tell they've picked that chick with the ugly ass afro to win. That was UNTIL Bo Bice came up on Monday and totally whipped ass. I'm pulling for the two "rockers" as they put it. Although it's irritating how they keep calling them rockers as if they're so out of the ordinary and just generic. They're the only different people in this competition! Bo reminds me of an old time southern rocker though. Like a member of Skynard or CCR. Hell he sung the Allman Brothers.
-
Wow....the bracketologist has OU as a 3 seed in this tourney. Just to think if OU hadn't lost to Tech at home or hadn't had that shitty loss at Mizzou they'd be firmly in the drivers seat of the Big XII right now. Bastards.
-
Not to mention the fact that it all depends on when those schools play each other. I personally think that if OU had played Duke when OU was on it's hot streak before the 4 of 5 losing streak then they would've beaten Duke. But at that time that they played OU had not found it's niche. And Duke was clearly a better team and that's why they pulled away in the 2nd half. Now that Duke is hot and OU is again I think it becomes a toss up. It's such a long season it all depends on when you play and who's hot and who's not.

God dammit! Nobody counts GT as a national title contender except you! Will you just drop them? They aren't going to make it anywhere in the tourney!

I had a dream I was on Survivor. I survived the first cut and made an alliance with someone. Then I woke up so I never know what became of it further. But still I think whereas Boston Rob was just in it for strategy and then he fell in love Jeff is just a horny bastard looking to ride someone's coattails and possibly ride something else. I don't think they are smart enough to pull it off. And nobody noticed the Boston Rob/Amber dynamic early. Everyone has noticed them already. What I hate is how everyone on this show are a bunch of Lemmings. They're all like "Let's vote Kim!" and then Jeff and some other guy are like "No Ashlee!" and they're like "No not a tie! Ok Ashlee!"
-
So back to what I asked. What made it so different than any other football? And what was the wrestling tie-in?
-
Well on ESPN radio last night one of the guys said top to bottom it was better than the ACC and Big East. Now I don't really agree with that at all. But I think aside from those two there isn't a conference close to it. OU didn't have Bookout last year no. And they had a couple of other guys hurt. And they had mostly Freshman. If one guy fouled out and another was in foul trouble we were in danger of not having enough guys to play. I think against Colorado we had the 5 guys on the court and that was ALL we had for the 4th quarter. It sucked. Yeah that's a good excuse for not making the tourney but I was still disappointed. I mean we'd made it to 9 straight before.

Wow OU just killed Texas. 74-58. I think we're playing good enough to actually win in Lubbock. I'm hoping. And if Kansas loses again(doubtful) we can get a share of that Big XII regular season crown. Hell OU has a chance to win the Big XII tourney. Wonder what seed we're going to get now? This is so great after last year and not even making the fucking tournament.
-
54-37 at this moment. Texas is getting eaten for lunch.
-
OU's giving Texas all they want and more. I'm so surprised and happy with this OU team. I'll be estatic for a Sweet 16 though! After not making the tourney last year I won't shoot too high this year. Haha. Are we going to start a new thread for conference tourneys?
-
OU and Texas are going at it right now. Any chance Texas doesn't make the tourney?
-
And Pitt just beats on BC. That was brutal. I sure hope these guys don't get a #1 seed. They're ripe for a tourney upset. Or hell if they don't get upset they're going to get killed by one of the good teams in the tourney.
-
I dunno if this Jeff guy is as smart as Boston Rob though. I dunno if he can work it. But still.....they really do need to break that shit up.
-
What were the differences in rules between the XFL and NFL? And I suppose the players weren't as talented as the NFL at all were they? Oh and what the hell was the wrestling tie in?
-
Still not giving up on Texas Tech?
-
Are you saying that all number 1's are going to the Final Four or that none will lose in the first round?
-
The Jayhawks beat The Cowboys in Lawrence in what IMO was the best basketball game of the year so far. That was hot.
-
What is it about? And what is The Jacket about?
