If you're set in your opinion, why bother asking? That being said, the Heisman voting is far off, performances will rise and fall. We'll have to see. Because I don't see how my logic is wrong about Jason White. So I presented it to you since you think it is wrong. Well there's my logic for why I think White is better and I want you to tell me why you disagree.
-
But without Peterson through 12 games last season with an unhealthy Jason White him and his recievers did whatever they wanted. Then White went completely down(he should not have been in the second half of the Big XII title game nor the Sugar Bowl)and the whole team went down. That's why I say White is more valuable.

I've heard that joke used with about 10 different schools. That's the problem with the school jokes....they work everywhere.
-
Yeah Roy Williams is a pretty amazing player. Should we really judge a great player in college though off of their NFL success?
-
Goofiest player in history maybe......
-
Well.......I dunno about Peterson being the heart and soul. Because White is the leader pretty much and he's the one that gets the team pumped and ready. Over the off season where all he could do was watch b/c of his broken hand and foot he coached and led the team.
-
Well if back to my Heisman thread!
-
Sims? Eh.....he is pretty good though. Well then if a Mod wants to merge the Heisman thread into here then that's cool......
-
I'm going to solve this right now for Dama... I'm just trying to stop a fight from breaking out. Plus I'm not really interested in who everyone thinks should win the heisman persay. I'm more interested in who deserves it more between Peterson and White since it's become such a hot topic of debate around here.
-
Argh people keep talking about the other players lol! The reason I was saying let's keep this between Peterson and White is because I don't want to start another OU vs. the world post. Plus it is something that's been going on on the local radio. And it's got a lot of Sooner fans divided. But since we're going to bring up the other players in the country..what about Alex Smith? He's good.
-
They wouldn't be undefeated without White either though. I think the two are more dangerous together. Although without Peterson White's stats would be on a different level b/c he'd have to pick up the slack. We've seen what he can do when Peterson has been nullified. And we saw what he did last season when he was halfway healthy and had no running game(40 TD's and 5 picks in the regular season). I think that White's stats would be more than 20 TD's and 3(or 4 can't remember) picks at this point in the season if he had no AD.

Isn't Miami a private school? How do so many NFL players go there then? Surely they can't all have that great of grades......
-
Oh and lomasmoney if White isn't the best player in school history then who is? He's thrown the most TD's in school history(then again it was an option style school until Stoops) plus he's only played 1 full season and a half of another and he's racked up 20 wins. If he played 4 full seasons he'd probably be the winningnest QB in College FB history(assuming he wins 10 games in those other 2 years and well OU will probably always win 10 games).

Ok forget about everyone else in the country. I made this post to see who you thought should make it if it came down to Peterson or White. So you guys think OU would still be undefeated if they had Peterson and not White? I pretty much think White is the heart and soul of the team. He's the leader and he's the one that drags them out of tough situations. I mean look at last year. He WAS the team. He had people saying they were the best team of all time and when he went down the team went down. Did you say he shouldn't even be invited to the ceremony Mad Dog? He's one of the best QB's in the country at the moment. He does have better stats than Leinhart and he's the one that keeps his team alive. Personally I think Reggie Bush is the better player on USC's team. But still......if it were down to Peterson and White. Leave everyone else out of the equation. Who is the better player of the two and who deserves it more? If one of them went down would the team still win? Who do they have a better shot of winning with?
-
First of all let me say that I'm not starting a fight with this thread. This is just something I've been thinking about since it came up on the radio. Ok something that has become kind of a civil war in Oklahoma. Let us say that the Heisman voting has come down to Adrian Peterson and Jason White. Now before you come in and say "No Leinhart will win it!" I know that. Let's just pretend for a second that those two are the leaders. Pretend everyone else started having terrible games or something. At this point who deserves it out of the two? Jason White or Adrian Peterson? Who's better? Who means more to the team? Because this has become a hot and heated topic on the local radio stations in Oklahoma. I mean if OU didn't have Adrian Peterson would they be undefeated? I can gurantee without White they wouldn't be undefeated. Course a lot of people are still punishing White and saying he's a crappy QB based off the last two games last season where he had a broken hand and foot. There's actually people that call into the radio station around here and say that Jason White is one of the worst QB's OU has ever had and they wish he'd just go away. I think he's the best player in school history personally. White also said that since he already has a vote he's voting for Peterson. So if you had a vote and had to pick between those two who would it be? And why?

That's what I was saying about the Big East. Who are we going to see from that conference in a BCS bowl? West Virginia? Won't they get lit up by any of those other possible BCS teams?
-
Oh and if I'm reading right here and all these other teams keep winning then Utah is basically out of a BCS game even if they're undefeated. Also Texas A&M's loss hurts Utah in the BCS does it not? And if OU beats them next week in College Station that hurts Utah a lot doesn't it? And a win at College Station would help OU just like the OSU win would it not? *takes some advil* Oh AND doesn't the winner of the Big East get an automatic bid? It comes out to 6 confernce winners and 2 at-large teams right? So that means somebody in this Top 8 isn't going no matter what b/c the Big East winner is going to take that spot though they don't have a Top 10 team. Crazy.
-
Funniest yet saddest scenario for Texas. OU loses next week but still holds enough ground to win the Big XII but there one loss hurts Texas thus screwing them out of an at-large bid. If OU loses at least I know I have that little piece of information to make me laugh. Hehehe....Texas sucks.......
-
I'd hope for Cal just b/c the game would rock all. Well ok it'd be an offensive clinic while the Georgia game would probably be a defensive clinic. But I'd rather see the Cal game. But overall OU/USC will be excellent b/c both teams are pretty balanced on all sides of the ball.
-
So let's say OU stays undefeated....and Wisconsin loses to MSU, USC loses to UCLA, and Auburn loses to Georgia. Who do they face?
-
So then....if OU and Auburn lose who goes to play USC? I'm assuming Auburn. If Auburn and USC lose who goes to play OU? I assume Auburn again. If OU and USC lose who plays Auburn? I assume USC. Or else I'm assuming wrong....and this is all assuming Wisconsin loses.
-
Yeah Michigan always seems to be right there but never seems to do it. There are a lot of teams that will be good soon maybe.....you never know. Aside from the elite's who are guranteed to win 10 games every year it's never known. Some people jump into the picture and then quickly jump out.
-
I've actually fallen in love with Cal over this season and I hope that they win the Rose Bowl against whoever the hell it is they play. Then I hope to see them winning the Pac 10 and going to the National Title game next season or at least in the next couple seasons. Hell I wouldn't mind seeing them win a national title. It's not like my team's going to have a shot in the next couple seasons I mean with the 18 or so seniors we're losing this season. I mean sure OU will win 10 games and be in a BCS bowl next season and such but I mean I doubt they'd go undefeated just b/c of the inexperience that'll be coming to the field.
-
For some reason I just always think about how close Michigan got with SDSU and I cringe. Of course they've more than proven themselves since then. But honestly I don't think they're better than Georgia or Cal. Yeah they're probably better than Texas and Tennessee and Miami is really up in the air as they look great one week and crappy the next.
-
So where does that leave Michigan? I agree though. If Cal wins out for the rest of the season they'd better be in a BCS bowl.
