  1. THE CURSE IS OVER! THE RED SOX FUCKING WIN IT! WHOOO!
  2. Just so you know Damaramu, before the season, I thought Oklahoma was the best team in the country. I don't do preseason rankings, but if I did OU would have been on top. It was only after I saw how the teams played throughout the season that I put USC in the #1 spot. And while there have been times throughout the season, when I felt that USC and Oklahoma were essentially 1 and 1A, right now I feel that USC deserves the top spot due to big wins vs. #5 Cal, at #15 VT, and an absolutely doinant win vs. #17 Arizona St. Meanwhile, #11 Texas is currently the only upper level team that Oklahoma has beaten. So what are you going to do when they blow OSU and A&M out?
  3. Not when they're given zero respect by everyone on the board.
  4. Let's just hope they both make it to the Orange Bowl and put all this debate at rest. Well if one of them loses then they don't deserve to be in the Orange Bowl. If OU loses to OSU or A&M then they aren't as good as thought and deserve to either make it to another BCS bowl or the Cotton Bowl. Obviously. Same goes for USC. One loss and they should be out. The thing is though with the height of OU and USC's ranking if one of them were to lose a game now they'd edge out Utah or another At Large team for that At Large Bid. Well USC would have to lose twice b/c as of right now they have the fast track to the Pac 10 title even if they lose. B/c the other one loss team(Cal) was beaten by them.

  6. USC is #1 because they ended #1 last year. There were many preseason analysts that thought Oklahoma should've been #1. I'm going to say it right now. OU and USC are the same. I think that at this moment neither team is clearly better and we won't know who's better till they play. That simple.
  7. I find it funny that you jump to conclusions. I hadn't read your other post at the time that I posted this. But I responded to your other one. Don't jump to conclusions.
  8. Slasher Flick there is a very minor difference in schedule there. Plus another annoying thing is that people seem to think OU picked an easy schedule on purpose. First of all they can't help it if the North Division sucks ass. Second of all they can't help it if Oregon ended up blowing. People seem to want to penalize them for this. However they're a great team and it seems most are in denial. And on top of that we're going to Stillwater and College station in the next 2 weeks. That's tough enough. On top of that the Big XII north may suck but the South is just as strong as the Pac 10's top teams. OU and USC play relatively the same strength of schedule and we're going to find out who's better in the Orange Bowl.
  9. USC's schedule is about the same IMO. We play 3 legit Top 25 teams and they play 3 legit Top 25 teams. They play 1 legit Top 10 team(Cal) we play 1 legit Top 10 team(Texas). Same strength of schedule pretty much. If you think OU is playing this weak pansy schedule then you have a serious bias against them.
  10. Yeah I'm still not getting the weak schedule argument for OU. They played Texas which no matter what you say is a Top 10 ranked team and they shut them out. They're going to OSU and they're going to A&M. Neither of these teams are pushovers and both are legit Top 25 teams and A&M may just be good enough to be Top 10. Not to mention that both stadiums are hostile and A&M is one of the most hostile in the country. Everyone is acting like they play Baylor caliber opponents all season. Pfft....they play just as tough of a schedule as USC.
  11. The odds are against the teams. But the two that have the best chance to do it are USC and Wisconsin since Auburn, OU, and Miami all have teams that could potentially upset them or outright beat the hell out of them.
  12. Oh my god......this all just seems to good to be true.
  13. That's ok b/c he'll throw for 2 more TD's and AD will rush for 225 yards and 1 TD giving OU a victory.
  14. To bad I won't be around for the game just like I wasn't around for the OU/Texas game. Hey if you hate OU because I like them then that's a really really weak reason. I suppose you can hate them b/c I like them so much but to deny their talent is just stupid.
  15. Truly the mark of a team everyone hates... an overconfident team who only plays "when they want to". Hey if we're that good then so be it. And we are that good. We've proven it.
  16. I realized the hat thing wouldn't work so I printed a sticker offline and plastered it to the bill of my OU hat.
  17. Whatever. OU played pretty well against Texas and has been sluggish out of the gate in several of their games. They're still winning, which is wonderful and great, but when it's down to who's #2 and who's #3, these are some of the things you look at. Though honestly, I see no team playing better than Auburn right now. They've had zero letdowns, and as Ether just noted, they have unquestionably the most impressive schedule if they get through undefeated. Ultimately I don't care, because all I want at the end of the season are great bowl games. I think Auburn's the better team, but if I get stuck watching them play Miami, I think I'll cope. Sluggish? Try not giving a damn. As they've proven over and over again against these teams....they turn it on whenever they want. They play like they don't care then say "Hey time to play football" and just turn it on. Not many teams can just turn it on and off like that but they do. They have enough talent to half ass a game and still annihilate there opponent. Against OSU and A&M I gurantee they will be trying 100% and clicking on all cylinders. Then it won't be pretty. How anyone can deny their talent and ability is just beyond me. You've got a terriffic defense, the best O-Line in the country, last year's Heisman trophy winner and one of the Top 5 QB's in the country, and this year's probable Heisman trophy winner and all around freak at running back.
  18. Because for some reason people seem to think that OU plays the weakest schedule in all of division 1 football when USC's is just as bad. And on top of that people seem to want to find every excuse to keep us out of the title game. I don't know how exactly the country fell in love with USC but if you haven't noticed they aren't exactly that much if AT ALL better than OU. People seem to be in denial about how good we are and the fact that yes we are one of the best in the country. That's why I get upset. Because someone on this board always wants to find a reason why they don't belong in the title game and *shock* it's only against OU!
  19. I've always had a thing for teams from Boston and I've been with Boston everytime I watched baseball. I didn't start reguarly watching until this season and well.....there are a lot of fairweather fans out there. I just don't want to get grouped with them. But for some reason now ANYONE that likes Boston is fairweather.
  20. Yeah but if you people had your way OU wouldn't be in that title game although they're clearly good enough to be. That's my point. No matter how good they do or how high they are there's always some jackass that bitches about their placement and things they're underserving. Hell I bet when they were rolling over people left and right last season(before the Big XII title game) people were bitching they shouldn't be #1.
  21. Not necessarily. They're not so far ahead of Miami that the Hurricanes can't reverse it yet again. The computers will be the wild card here. Eh it's very doubtful b/c of the fact that OU will be playing two very good ranked teams on the road and if they win those games impressively then they will gain more first place votes from the human voters and I believe the gain in first place votes is what allowed them to jump ahead this week. If OU and USC both keep winning then nothing is going to stop them from facing one another. And it'll be the correct game for the national title. And it's gotta be the first time in a long time that #1 and #2 in the preseason hook up in the title game.
  22. The important thing to me is that my team is at #2 and won't drop until they lose a game....which probably won't happen. Hello Orange Bowl.
  23. I don't know where everyone is getting this "OU plays nobodies" bullshit at. If OU plays nobodies then so does USC plain and simple. They've played the same caliber of teams all season and OU has beaten/will beat 3 teams in the Top 25 and has beaten teams that have snuck in an out of the Top 25. So don't give me this "they play a weak schedule" bullshit because you have some god damn grudge against them because they're so much better than your team.
  24. Miami vs. Auburn/Georgia/Tennessee? Hell yeah I'm down for that.
  25. Ok so here I am thinking about all of this crap. Let's say things finish like this: OU wins Big XII USC wins Pac 10 Wisconsin wins Big Ten Auburn wins SEC Miami wins ACC all these teams are undefeated. West Virginia wins Big East. Utah wins out. Texas, FSU, Cal, and Michigan don't lose another game. You get something like: Orange: OU vs. USC Rose: Cal(at large) vs. Wisconsin Sugar Auburn vs. West Virginia Fiesta: Utah (at large) vs. Miami So we get Utah with that at large bid and 3 deserving teams left in the cold! On top of that we have all these undefeated teams and only one game for the national title! And then on top of that The Big East blows hard and I dunno if West Virginia deserves a game over Texas, FSU, and Michigan. This is all very confusing.
