That's exactly it. He said he could care less about winning the Heisman b/c he already has one and doesn't need another. Though it's 99% sure he won't win it b/c the offense doesn't revolve around him anymore.
-
He's 24. And he might have a National Title from 2000 but Josh Heupel won that title. I think White wants to win the title himself. He was there that year but I'm pretty sure he was 3rd string. Heupel, Hybl, and White were all recruited in the same class and the depth chart went in that order to. Man....if only they knew then what they know now......well actually White won the starting job in 2001 and tore his ACL. Then was given the starting nod in spring practice in 2002 and tore his other ACL at the beginning of the season. He was a running QB which makes last year even more amazing b/c he wasn't a pocket passer before the injury. He pretty much had to reinvent himself. He's got it easier this year though b/c he's got AD running wild. He doesn't have as much pressure as he did last year. Oh and funny thing is that Nate Hybl is one of the most hated QB's around these parts b/c both of the seasons he played were 2 loss seasons. I don't hate him quite so much for that I just think he sucked balls compared to Heupel and White.

So OU is only a Top 5 team b/c the rest of the country sucks? Don't think so. And White's fumble wasn't really his fault it was a good play by the Derrick Johnson. I think anyone would've fumbled after what he did. I mean he punched the ball right out of there. But yes White was playing a bad game. And why didn't White go pro? Because he was injured last year and had a great year. He's coming back this year to prove that he's injury free and can hack it in the NFL without getting hurt and that he's mobile enough to do it. He's basically here to win his national title and have another good year to prove to NFL scouts that he's not an injury prone unmobile guy.

I have a feeling that if Auburn were to go undefeated and so were OU and USC then it'd be OU/Auburn. After watching College Gameday all 6 of the guys on there were claiming that OU was #1 and better than USC and so on. Hell I won't even go that far. USC is #1 and hasn't lost yet. Sure OU can narrow the margin between them I think but I don't think they should take #1 until USC loses. Oh and after watching A&M this year they appear to be becoming a challenge. One blunder against Utah(no shame in that, Utah is good) and they're becoming monsters. Which makes what Utah did more impressive.

Hmm...the streak for most consecutive Red River losses is OU dropping 8 straight to Texas. Thing is that they lead the record on Red River Shootouts. They've won like 20-something more than OU. So if Mack somehow loses that record in the process(doubt he'll make it for 20 more years and even then he's bound to get lucky eventually) he'll kill himself. If Mack ends up dropping 8 straight he'll kill himself. He needs to conference with Les Miles. The only coach to beat Bob Stoops twice.

And you act like it's our fault the Big XII isn't as good this year as it has been in the past. It's not. We can't help where we play right now. But it's still a tougher conference than most to play in. The problem with the elite teams is that they're still better than everyone else in there conference so you get shit. The Pac 10 and Big XII? USC and OU are the only teams that can dominate the conference. SEC is filled with elite teams. The thing is though that the SEC is tough to play in and is tough to the rest of the country. The Big XII may not be as strong to the rest of the country b/c of the weaker north but it is still a hard conference to play in especially in the Big XII south where all the good teams reside. OU has a challenging year. It may not be the hardest that it can be but it's no less challenging than what the other Orange Bowl bound team is going through. So get over it. We don't have the best conference in college fb but we don't have the worst. And if we win the conference and go undefeated then we deserve a shot at that national title and we will get it b/c the people voting in the polls know how good we are.
-
You know after taking a day to think about it......I wonder if Mack Brown is going "What do I have to do!? I get blown out! Toughen up! Improve the defense! Play 110% and keep it close.....AND STILL LOSE! And I get shut out to boot!" He's gotta be freaking out.
-
Not until people accept the fact that I'm a fan thus I'm going to cheer for my team over all other teams.
-
And on top of that OU/USC or OU/Miami would be the two best National Title games. Mainly b/c of the fact that all 3 are College FB powers and will be for a long time. A National Title game between these schools would just be awesome. Especially an OU/USC game. I mean it'd be Leinhart against OU's experienced defense. Adrian Peterson against an experienced defense. Leinhart and White battling it out. It'd be a high scoring shootout or a low scoring defensive battle. But either way it'd be really good. OU/Miami would be a huge defensive battle. No doubt about it.
-
I'm a fan. Get over it.
-
It's not just you. I have people in my local paper and people calling into the radio station complaining and asking what's wrong with OU b/c they didn't blow Oregon out by 60!
-
Well everyone else has a piss-ass "Elite teams and then OU" attitude when they forget that OU is one of those teams. If they lose then yes they'll be out of the title picture unless there's only one undefeated team and the pollsters decide to vote them in at #2 or the BCS sticks them in at #2 which is likely to happen but I doubt it. I'm not saying nobody else deserves it. But if OU is undefeated then they deserve to play in that game b/c of the talent they have and what they can do on the field. Just because they don't blow people out by 50 every game this year doesn't mean jackshit. They have a totally different kind of offense. Rather than putting a bunch of points up quickly they put up a couple while eating all the clock.
-
Well GreatOne seems to think that OU deserves nothing and is the worst team in the nation reading your posts. They ARE good. They ARE the #2 team in the country and if they go undefeated they DESERVE to play in the National Title game. Sorry but it's true.
-
Then it would be USC because they've had to many close calls whereas OU hasn't had any and Auburn has had like 1.
-
Actually no. OU is #2 for a reason. Because they are talented enough to be #2. If 3 teams finish undefeated then the 2 most talented deserve to be in the Orange Bowl. And I'm sorry but OU is one of them.

And on top of all of that they've won more games since 2000 than any other team. So they aren't exactly crappy as everyone seems to implicate. And I'm not saying they're the best ever. I'm saying they're legitimately the #2 team in the country which nobody seems to believe. And once again there conference strength is NOT their fault. Just like what happened with the Polls and the title game at the end of last year was NOT their fault. Though everyone seemed to act like it was.
-
The game is hyped b/c of the rivalry. The two teams hate each other and it's also the hottest college football ticket in the country from what I've read in the past. You're right though except on one thing. It's not a good team taking on an above average team. It's a great team taking on an above average team.
-
You're right, a conference that went 4-2 in bowl games, to the Big XII's? And ASU........ BTW the Big XII South is NOT a conference of itself, hate to break it to you. What would you have to say if the Big XII were all one like in basketball? Hmmm, looks like SOMEBODY'S gonna benefit from the lack of SOS this year, esp after that hard-fought win over Missouri or Kansas in the Big XII title game....................... I know it's not a conference in of itself. But OU plays all the teams from the Big XII south and only 3 from the North. The South has tougher teams which is what OU has to play against mostly. The North sucks. And then on top of that it seems you want to blame OU for having a weaker conference this year. Yeah it's not there fault. Hate to break it to you but they ARE the #2 team in the country and they ARE good enough to be the #2 team and a lot of people on ESPN I've seen argue that they ARE good enough to be #1. Sorry but they don't suck like you seem to be implicating that they do. And they ARE deserving of the spot they have right now. Sorry but it's true. As much as everyone seems to have a problem with them and where they're ranked it is true that they ARE that good. And if they won the National Title and were undefeated then they would deserve it though I'm sure about half of the people here would cry that they don't.

OU is an elite program. I can gurantee you they would not fire Bob Stoops if he had two 9-3 seasons in a row. I don't think that'd happen. I think Nebraska was having a problem and they screwed themselves even worse now. I don't think Callahan will get them in the National Title hunt at all.
-
I'm still boggled as to why Frank Solich was fired....I mean it makes no sense! He only lost 3 games! Callahan has lost 2 so far! Probably going to lose 4 or 5!
-
Are you trying to say Jason White is a bad QB? Because if you are....you're not very smart. And OU won thanks to great defense and Adrian Peterson. But since they're like a board enemy or something they can't do anything right. Even shutting out the #5 team in the country means nothing. Hell if we were to make it to the Orange Bowl and blow our opponent out people would still find a way to say we suck and are undeserving. They did it in 2000. Oh and GreatOne......SC DID have a bad conference last year. Though it appears to be looking up this year. Oh and btw we play in the Big XII South....which is doing just fine. Thus making it tougher still. SC plays VT, Cal, and ND. We play Texas, OSU, and A&M(at home which is tough no matter who you are) so they're going about the same on SOS. Though the Big XII is still tough for the teams that play in it. They just spend the entire season beating on one another. Kind of like the SEC but not as good.
-
Just remember to win your conference title game this time. Thanks to the system, they don't even have to do that When you've won more games than any other team since 2000 the pollsters tend to view you more favorably.
-
DOWN GOES GEORGIA! OH MY GOD! The Top 10 is going to be shaken all to hell!
-
I think we'll take OSU. They run the ball. You can't run the ball against us. We've proved it in all of our games. We shut down a Heisman canidate today.
