  1. Yeah he only played safety one year. Here's the thing. He was a good player. He was fast and had good ball skills. The secondary as a unit didn't play well together. They couldn't work together and therefore got burned a lot. If he gets into a system or with a team where he ends up being able to work with the other players then he'll be a great addition because of his physical ability. He's a good returner too.
  2. Argh. I hate this insider bullshit on ESPN. I'm trying to look at this safety the Eagles drafted and everything is "Insider Only" gah.
  3. Have fun with that one, he constantly got burned deep.
  4. So the Redskins draft Devin Thomas, Malcom Kelly and Fred Davis? I guess it's good for Campbell to have some big targets to hit, but damn.
  5. Speaking of losing fat and getting in better cardio shape. Do you ever find yourself, when you're pressed for time or getting back in the gym after time off, having trouble getting cardio or a good run in along with weight lifting. I sure do. Also because I'm out of shape and overweight I find myself too tired or weak to do one after the other. If I run/walk for 2.5-3 miles I'm spent when I try to lift and vice versa. I'm trying to figure out how to balance both. I want to build some muscle and cut up, but I also want to get in better cardio shape and lose this belly. .......I'm too neurotic to work out.
  6. I'm tired of hearing "this guy is this year's Adrian Peterson". AD was a freak playing behind a good offensive line. It's not like just any good running back can come in and do that. After seeing Peterson do it it seems the media thinks there should be one in every draft. Then again there's some members of the media that do call it like it is and point out he's not the kind of player that comes along every year. Plus the Vikings had a very good O-Line. I'm sure if he'd been drafted the the Raiders (like McFadden) he wouldn't have approached what he did this year.
  7. I guess it's good......I would've preferred Kelly or Sweed. I guess I just like the big receivers more than the small speedy guys. But, if it helps special teams then I'm all for it (seems how the Eagles would've started the season 1-0 if not for special teams!).
  8. Fuck. Do you want to draft anybody Philly? Sweed and Kelly are all you have left receiver wise! Don't tell me they don't need a receiver.
  9. Well I said that LA would sweep Denver and they appear to be well on their way to do that. I thought maybe Denver could steal one, but after seeing them play in games 1 and 2 it was obvious they had nothing.
  10. Well....he's bigger than Kelly and Sweed!
  11. Take Sweed. I want a Kelly Eagles jersey.
  12. Damn Malcom Kelly sure is falling. I hope he falls to the Eagles actually......
  13. I think that's said about a lot of NFL players. I hope Mark Bradley is saving the money he's making with the Bears, he's dumb as a rock.
  14. I feel much better now.
  15. What the hell did the Eagles get? Argh! They should've grabbed Thomas. Then again, maybe they think some of the tall receivers are kind of the same? They can wait and take Thomas if he falls, Malcom Kelly or Limas Sweed in the second round and feel just fine about it.
  16. ? Rivers is a great pick. I don't know what you're talking about there. Maybe he's talking about how they wanted Ellis?
  17. Rivers seems like a good pick for the Bengals(i assume they're picking him because he was just celebrating). Oh and we got to see Mel's first bout of righteous indignation after the Derrick Harvey pick. Luckily he didn't completely flip like he has in the past.
  18. I think you just answered your own question.
  19. Well, I've noticed one big difference between NFL Network and ESPN. NFL Network allows their to be silence and let's us just take in a scene. On ESPN Chris Berman's fat mouth is yapping at all times.
  20. Why do you hate them so much? Because they eliminated the Lakers two years in a row? With the way the Spurs are going I wouldn't want them face them in the playoffs.
  21. Man Shaq really destroyed the Suns. They were flying high before the trade and then this big fat weight jumped on the plane and took it into a nosedive.
  22. Damn, let's just legalize it and end all these headaches. That's a whole other debate though. Funny thing. People think you are a pothead if you want it legalized. I don't smoke it at all(haven't since 9th grade) and I advocate it being legal. But, why would Howard say that? I mean shit. Just play basketball and get high when you want since you obviously get away with it when you keep your mouth shut. I wonder what the Mavs will do? Then again Cuban's probably baked right now too.
  23. I think Vince Young having a fine season and taking his team to the playoffs did that. Well I think their defense really carried them to the playoffs. Young had 9 TDs and 17 INTs. Plus he did hurt his hamstring.
  24. No, they've got a point. Losing weight is pretty much based on your nutrition -- if you take in as many calories as you burn off, you won't lose weight, even if you're running (or whatever) twice a day every day. At the same time, you can be big and still be in good (or even great) cardiovascular shape. But you will get faster as you lose more weight, because your legs won't have as much of a load to carry. Ah that's always been my biggest problem is eating. I've quit eating so much crap. I cut out the fried food, pizza, ice cream, sweets and red meat. I have that stuff maybe once a week if at all. I eat a lot of chicken, rish, rice and vegetables. The only problem is I eat a LOT of it. I'm a hungry guy and I wolf it down. Oh yeah, back to part of the fitness thing. Does everyone that works out think they have to go buy the absolute best of Nike and Under Armour gear and what not? I don't skimp on running shoes, but gym shorts and shirts from Wal-Mart work just fine. It's just funny watching advertisements making it seem like if you wear UAyou're going to workout harder. I will admit that I like some of their designs and clothing but I have no illusions I'll be able to run like Vernon Davis. I'm kind of interested in the UA shoes that are coming out though. But, I really only buy high end running shoes when it comes to fitness gear.
  25. Oh I'm not surprised, just annoyed. We have these two kids here. One's a QB on the football team(that got recruited by Arkansas, then he de-committed and is going to Kansas now) and a basketball player that's going to play at the local JUCO next year. These two kids are the best athletes Dodge City has ever produced. So everyone worships them and expects me to. Here's the problem, kids like these are a dime a dozen in Texas. If either of these kids were in Texas they'd be riding the pine or playing for a shit team. It's really annoying that everyone is so in love with them just because we're in bumfuck western Kansas. I swear, and Slayer can probably atest to this, eastern and western Kansas are like two different states and I live on the wrong side. And that brings me to another thing that annoys me: Dodge City. This place is so shitty. The people are anti-progress. Anytime there's a proposal for something new or something to better the town it's defeated because they don't want to change, despite the fact that their "rival city" is exploding by leaps and bounds because they're willing to think forward. They brought in an outside consultant from Chicago to tell them how to improve tourism and she told them they needed to improve downtown and they fired her because they thought downtown was just fine. Well Dodge doesn't even really have a downtown and what is considered downtown is half closed or it's a mexican store! And that's another thing. This town is 70% hispanic because of the two meat packing plants. I don't mind that, but sometimes I feel like I live in Mexico with all the spanish signs and businesses. But, that's not even the big problem. The thing that annoys me more is the pissed off rednecks in this town. They think every Mexican person is illegal. The guy could have a birth certificate proving he was born in the US, a degree from Harvard law and he could speak perfect English with no accent and they'd say "Quit yapping in Spanish you fucking spic! Get back to work on a roof or something!" I swear they're the most ignorant people. If ANYTHING goes wrong in this town they immediately blame the "illegals" or whatever. Most of Dodge's hispanic population is legal, but every pissed off redneck thinks that if you're hispanic you must be here illegally. They claim Dodge was so much better in the old days before the "illegal problem". Well here's the thing. The meat packing plants opened in the 70's. Mexican and Koreans started moving here then. Dodge didn't fall apart until the late 90's. And what happened in the mid-90's? The four year university here in Dodge closed! So the population stagnated and things went downhill. But, don't tell the pissed off redneck that he's part of the problem. It's just easier for him to blame the "illegals".
