Pretty straightforward.

Do you happen to mean the one that I'm assuming was SUPPOSED to be a Ki-Krusher, but instead was more like a Super Spinning Fisherman's Buster? Cuz yeah, that was fucking SWEET. And for the record, I'm sure I've seen someone do a giant swing, then had their partner dropkick the guy they were swinging, though I couldn't even start to tell you who - I think it was some Japanese 6-Man cruiserwight tag match (like that narrows it down).

Sociable and Century.

For the record Agent, you CAN get Poutine (That's what it's called) in other provinces. Hell, they sell it at like, Burger King 'round these parts...

I think the most disturbing part of this entire thread was that damned dancing smile thing Nevermortal posted. Not that it's disturbing in and of itself, but it IS disturbing when you're listening to WASP and the damned thing is actually going with the beat...

The point was this: Some black people, as the original poster stated, want to use their race as an excuse for everything. I wanted to state that I agreed with him on this fact (Because that's what people DO when there's a debate going on - they chime in with their opinion, whether they agree or not) and I thus proceeded to relate a story of personal experience to back up my claims. I mean, I COULD'VE just said "Some black people always scream racism", but that would've made me look silly for just throwing out a claim with nothing to support it. I expect it to be taken for what *I* wrote, not what the preceding poster wrote. Again, I don't see white people freaking at cops for arresting them "because they're white". Again, I'm not trying to say that they DON'T do it. But I DO see black people using their race as an excuse. A lot? No. Some? Yes. And to re-state what I originally said - when these people STOP using race as an excuse (which they DO) and start looking at the things that actually cause these problems (Did that cop pull you over because you're black, or because you were speeding?) before they accuse anyone of anything, then we're all gonna be a lot better off.
-
Well, DUH. That's why I said "I partly agree" to begin with. *dingdingding* That WAS my point. Some black people use their race as an excuse. And for the record, I've never known a white person to say "It's because I'm white, isn't it?" Does that mean that they never do? No, but it's something I'm not experienced in, so I figured there was no point to mention it. As for what I skipped over, did you mean this: In my eyes, that's not you saying that some blacks scream racism. That's you simply repeating what I stated. I skipped over it because I didn't feel it was relevant, as it was just you repeating me. And also, I didn't try to act like you said I claimed all blacks were racist - I merely pointed out that I never ONCE made a reference to "all blacks". I used the word "some". As in, NOT ALL. You're the one who made reference to the ENTIRE black race, not me.
-
No I didn't. I said that some black people use the fact that they're black to explain away anything that goes bad in their lives. I then gave an example. There's a problem with that? When did I say "all blacks"? I said "some". If you're going to try and call people out for being ignorant, the least you can do is not be ignorant to what I said.

I'm a Diamond fan myself, but only in small doses. It's just that it seems to me that a lot of the time, he's not singing - he's showing off. Yeah, you can sing really high, we get it. I just wish he'd keep his voice lower more often, as I just perfer the sound of his voice when it's low (relatively speaking, of course).

Somehow, that just sounds wrong. I'd think the fact that white people tended to look at blacks as being closer to animals then people back when slavery was around had more to do with it. Also the fact that it was probably easier to get black people into slavery as, like was mentioned before, some Africans were selling slaves to the Europeans. Um, dude? You think that might have something to do with the fact that there's 1. Less people in Canada and B. Less weapons, due to our tighter gun laws? (And yes, I realize that, per capita, Canada has more registered firearms then the US - but the majority of those are hunting weapons if I'm not mistaken.) I mean, I've never even SEEN a gun that wasn't in a store. I think that's probabaly one reason why there's a lot less violent crime around here...

I think his problem was less with the fact that BET exists, then it was with the double standard of what would happen if someone created a White Entertainment Network.

Simple. It's a personal belief of mine that when they say God created the earth in 7 days, it's not to be taken literally. I look at it this way: What is a day to God? Personally, I think that over the years, through many different translations and re-tellings, things got jumbled, so that NOW it says it took Him 7 days. I think it's quite possible that God created the earth, and tinkered with it for many millions of years, then thought "Well, why don't I put some creatures on it?" So He made some, then got bored with them, and thought, "Well, maybe I'll make these creatures better" and thus, He made them evolve. Eventually, this would lead to God creating human beings from primates, then setting us apart with *ding* souls. Why do I believe this? Because Creationism as it stands makes no sense to me, so I came up with my own theory. I didn't say I believed that the Bible was God's flawless word. I said that was the offical line on it.

I don't know if this counts or not because he only used it once (as far as I know) but I recall Big Bossman, on some episode of RAW a few years back, reached into one of the pockets on his flak jacket, and pulled out some small black thing. He then gave it a little whip, and some metal rod came out of it, which he used to club the other guy in the face, then back in it went. It was just so classy.

They can be if you live in Canada, as I do. Just because they're not over-rated in the states, doesn't mean people outside the states don't over-rate them.

This I'll partly agree with - it seems to me that there's a number of black people who, as soon as anything bad happens to them, it's because they're black, and that's the only reason. I've seen black customers at Wal-Mart throw a hissy fit because the greeter wanted to look at their reciept when they set off the alarm. In their eyes apparantly, the only reason THEY were stopped is because they were black. Nevermind the fact that scores of white people are stopped at the same doors every day when they set off the alarms - when some black people do it, it's because they're black, period. This irks me. I think in a lot of cases, these people should sit down and think "Why am I being treated this way?" I won't deny that in some instances they are right - some people DO treat them differently because of their color, but not everyone. And I think once everyone realizes that, this world would be at least slightly better off. Also, as far as black people using the term nigger...I'm white, so I can't be sure, but isn't the rationale that if they use the term for their friends, then it takes away the "hurt" of the word? I mean, it's kinda hard to insult someone with a phrase that their friends use. That's what I had been told, anyway - can someone clarify?

That's kind of a silly question, as you should've been able to get my response from what I said before. Primates aren't people. Are they close? Yes. People? No. And thus, no souls, because they're not people. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades, my friend. Because animals were not made in His image. Why weren't they? Because He didn't want them to be. And yes, I KNOW it's really irritating to try and debate stuff like this when one person constantly resorts to "Because God says so", but honestly, that's the only reason I can give you for it - He didn't want to. Also, for the record, I don't really believe in creationism. Actually, I think it's one of the fundamentals of the Christian religon to take, as part of your faith, that the Bible was written by people who were divinely inspired by God, and thus, it IS His flawless word. Not that *I* believe that, but I do think that's the offical line on it. Everything that we BELIEVE in, yes. But what I was trying to get at with abstract thought was that we can conceive things that don't exist in any real way. We can, as humans, think up a LOT of different shit, and I'd try to give an example of what I mean here, but then again, I AM talking about totally abstract thought, so an example thereof would be kinda hard... But, you said it yourself - You don't think there's enough difference between us and animals to set us apart. I think that there is. I also think that no amount of points from either of us is going to make the other take their viewpoint. I also think that I'm nowhere NEAR well-versed enough in religon, nor am I religous enough, to intelligently continue this debate much farther without repeating myself over and over. So I think we're going to end up having to just agree to disagree before too long...or Spicy can take over for me, or something. He seems better at this then I am, somehow...

What WWE superstar are you?

I got RVD... The stoner who just doesn't care anymore? Yeah, that sounds like me. -
Having a soul does not automatically make you good - after all, many people are evil. I won't deny that humans are simply just a more intelligent type of creature - but how can ANYTHING show that if people have a soul, animals have one too? I really don't understand this. So? As is my understanding, we're discussing the Christian Heaven and Hell. What difference does it make what other religons believe? Now, honest question - Are animals capable of abstract thought, or are they only capable to consider things that they know to exist (IE, where their food is)? Because if they're not capable, then that sets us apart. Also, somehow I doubt animals have a concept of good and evil - Again, set apart. Is it much of a difference? Probably not. Does that difference leave the potential for people to have souls, while animals don't? I'd say so. Oh and for the record, I've been browsing through the Bible (Like I said, Catholic home) and while I can't find anything specific, I can see that God "blessed" humans, which he didn't do to animals, and God also TOLD humans that we were to rule over the creatures of the land, sea, and sky. Somehow, I can't see God telling us that we're allowed to boss around all animals if they, indeed, did have souls. But then again, this Bible is all fragged up. Apparantly God created the animals twice...damned illogical Bible. But anyway, I stand by my original point - Because people have souls is no reason to assume that animals have souls, even if we aren't very different genetically. Because while genetically we may be similar, in God's eyes, we're obviously two totally different things. And what He says goes, really. Arg...my head hurts...I think I spent way too long trying to write this coherently... Oh, and to slide off-topic for a bit...UYI, are you back here now, or just making a few posts, or what? I thought you vanished somehwere...

Top 50 Worst Music Artists of All Time

This is beyond absurd. How on EARTH can anyone claim that ICP, a group with a fair number of dedicated fans and a number of CDs, is worse then any random 80's artist that no one even remembers? I don't even like ICP that much, but I mean come on. There's a difference between "I don't like these people" and "they're the worst band ever", and somehow, I don't think that these people managed to notice this. And Manowar is on the list? Oh, fuck this... -
Some kinda Pizza pop, and chocolate milk. Mmm....chocolate milk...

You can accept that after you die, your soul travels to a place that no one can see and lives there for all eternity, but you can't accept that in these places, the laws of physics would be altered? That's kinda...odd. You're basing that on what, exactly? I might not be a thelogian (Hell, I doubt I even spelled the word properly) but look at it from this angle: Accept, for the sake of argument, that there is a God, and he created this planet and all the creatures on it. Of all those creatures, God made ONE type in his own image. God gave ONE type of creature the mental capacity to do what humans do. And God sent His son to save ONE type of creature - Jesus didn't come because some dogs were being mean to each other. God made man with a soul, and man alone. Dogs don't have one, sheep don't have one, birds don't have one - only people, because God made them that way. At least, that's what I've always been told, and my home is quite Catholic. I don't see how accepting that there is a human soul means that all creatures have them. Also, oddly enough, the prospect of an afterlife kind of frightens me, because I simply cannot comprehend ANYTHING lasting for all time. I don't know if I'd WANT to exist for all time. I mean, think about it - a million billion trillion years is NOTHING compared to infinity. I dunno, infinity and the prospect thereof is one of those things that always kind of worried me.

"Getting"? "Today"? Have you just not been paying attention, or what?

How on earth would you expect someone to be IMPARTIAL when they're BIASED? Isn't that kinda oxymoronic? I think they may as well keep it as is - Besides, an American president from, let's say, Brazil, might be a little too keen on trying to help Brazil fix whatever problems it may have, while ignoring the much greater problems of other nations that need help. Not that I think the US should/has to help other nations - that's merely an example.
