Are you sure you mean hardcore and not emo?
-
Keep in mind, Eko is a "good person"; They tried to capture him.
-
Dude, the advertising campaign could literally be "The Da Vinci Code is now a movie" and nothing else and it'd still make a zillion dollars. Do you know how many people read that book?
-
Wow. This guy is beyond stupid. How do you "not know" that you gained a thousand friggin' pounds?
-
I'm so glad I didn't buy the 2004 releases.

Mexico about to get totally stoned
The Metal Maniac replied to vivalaultra's topic in Current Events
LotC, CWM and I are ALL Canadian. So yeah, we can talk. Well, they can. And my friend can, cuz I never tried the Mexican stuff, but he said it was good. -
You know, RVD really shoulda had "RVD" painted upside-down on the MitB briefcase, since he holds it upside-down 93% of the time.

Mexico about to get totally stoned
The Metal Maniac replied to vivalaultra's topic in Current Events
I've heard from a reliable source that Mexican weed may look like shag, but can still be damned effective. Of course, this was weed bought from a cab driver, so I'd assume it was on the lower end of weed in the country. -
Okay, I honestly can't tell if Battlenutz is kidding or not, but you say: And then you say: Isn't that exactly what morals are? The ability to put aside what is easiest for you in order to do what is best for more people? It just seems like you said "Who are you to say that? Only I may say that."
-
I've heard that as well. However, part of me says that they wouldn't make an error THAT large in translating, since Mary's virgin-ness is one of the ways that the Bible "proves" Christ's divinity (in quotes because I know that what the Bible says doesn't really prove anything); I don't think that someone just accidently translated "young woman" to "virgin" and went "Holy crap, his mom was a virgin?", know what I mean?
-
Wait; I thought Satan actually WAS the Angel of Light - before his fall, at least.
-
Animals don't have morals. People do. Hell, some animals eat their young - does that make it okay for people to do the same?

WWE and Brock Lesner settle lawsuit
The Metal Maniac replied to MikeJordan23's topic in The WWE Folder
Keep in mind, Brock is a former NCAA wrestling champion. He'd be far from clueless in the Octagon. -
Hey, I'm not trying to "pretty up" the seal hunt; I just don't think that a hunt in which animals are killed using tools designed for killing them in a relatively humane fashion is as bad as animals being routinely skinned alive and tossed into piles of dying, skinned animals. And yes, I am aware that regulations for seal hunting are not always followed, and some of the seals do suffer quite a bit. However, that said, seals aren't just killed for their pelts (though it is the most desired part, seal oil and meat is still used by some people) and by your own admission Eric, they've got it better then a hell of a lot of other animals. You're the one who said: Not that I'm a big fur person or anything. It's just that I hear a lot of bitching about the seal hunt, being an Atlantic Canadian, and I just wanted to point some stuff out.
-
It's easy. You grab a hapakik, which is kind of like a pickaxe with only one end, and smash in their brain. Which, when used properly, is apparantly fairly humane, since it'll kill the seal REALLY fast.

U2's One has been named the greatest lyric of all-time
The Metal Maniac replied to KTID's topic in Music
Since we're already sorta on the topic, who wants to tell me what the lyrics for Teen Spirit mean? I've never quite understood that song. -
I suppose that there are a number of variables which could totally change things, especially since we really have no idea what an alien would be like at all, or what kind of energy they'd be able to generate if they had elements that don't exist on earth. Like, Super-Uraniam or some shit. I basically just wanted to point out that "faster then mach 14" still doesn't even touch the kinda speeds that would be needed for any serious inter-stellar travel.
-
If, as you say, Mach 14 (4764.06 m/s) is the fastest we can go, then those ships were going about 19060 m/s. Now, in order to be making any real headway in the Universe, they'd have to be going the speed of light - even at that speed, it would still take about 4 years to get here from the closest star to Earth. The speed of light is like, 300,000,000 m/s. So really, that closest star is like, the number of seconds in a year times 300,000,000 meters away. If they were only travelling 4X as fast as we can, they'd *still* need to be going a HELL of a lot faster.

The system works. Beat the shit outta them; if they come back, good. If not, they ain't cut out for it anyway.

No matter how mad that porcupine is, it can't shoot quills ten feet away. I'm more scared of animals that can hit me from a distance.

Should UseTheSledgehammerUh have been banned?
The Metal Maniac replied to iggymcfly's topic in General Chat
Anyone who misses Anglesault doesn't properly remember Anglesault. -
As opposed to the deadly de-quilled porcupine?
-
I'm telling ya; Libby had a close relative/friend who died in the deck collapse Hurley caused.
-
Skunks. They can get you from from 7-10 feet away, whereas you pretty much have to be dumb enough to grab a procupine in order to get quilled.

Don't forget - Jin also seems to have been cured of whatever was keeping him from having kids. I think the island is one of those "places of power" or whatever that the healer talked about, and that's probably part of the reason that Dharma chose that specific island.
