Any video which is just the band faking a live show. I have no problem with a band playing their instruments and stuff in the video, but when the video is just them pretending to be live, when it's obviously not, it pisses me right off.

NEW!! Episode III trailer........
The Metal Maniac replied to NoCalMike's topic in Television & Film
Honestly, I can't imagine watching the films 1-2-3-4-5-6 for the first time, because, as someone said, I don't think you'd get through the first two before you'd start to think that the movies were crap. And also, it totally kills the Vader being Luke's father bit, because you'd already know that. Actually, shit, depending on how they do RotS, you may even know that Luke has a twin too - which would make the scene where Leia kisses him just a bit more disturbing. While I think of it...what was Leia princess of exactly, and how did she get to be princess of that? Was she adopted by the royal family or something? I can't imagine that she's considered to be of the same royal family as Amidala...unless Vader and the Emperor are really, really fucking stupid. -
Max: I pull the "I'll go check" bit myself all the time, because people really can't seem to understand that we just might not have any. Mind you, our warehouse is always so filled with crap that, even if we HAD that item in stock out there, it would take me an hour to find out where it was, let alone dig the damned thing out. So I generally just walk out back andstand around for 5 minutes, then come back. And since you seem to do the same, I would assume that this is what many people in the industry do. Thus, it's a waste of time to ask, because no one is really looking anyway.

I think I'd perfer that to eating cold fries. Though I have learned, that if you really want fresh fries, tell the cashier that you can't eat too much salt, and ask for fries that have no salt on them. Since most places salt their fries as soon as they come out of the fryer, they'll need to make fresh ones. I've never tried it myself, though I have seen other people do so. At my job, I learned to never put anything on Layaway at Wal-Mart. I also learned to be really, really polite to everyone I see working in retail, because I know how much their job sucks. I also learned that if you find the exact spot where an item should be, and there's none there, DON'T ASK IF THERE ARE ANY. If there were some, they would be IN THAT SPOT.

Simple enough question: Are they showing the PPV an hour earlier this year? On WWE.com it says that the show is at 7 pm, when it is usually at 8, no? Also, it looks like Heat is on at 7 (local time - a PPV here normally starts at 9). So, it IS an hour earlier this year, right? I ask because the bar I'm going to see it at has it listed at 9, like always, but I think that's a mistake on their part. I even called, and they said the show is starting at 9. I just wanna be sure that I'm not at the bar 2 hours early, and that I don't miss the show.

Isn't that kind of a silly question? I mean, didn't he sign a 20-year contract or something but Vince was the one who wanted out?

The only celebrity death that bugged me enough to even mention it was Dimebag Darrell. Totally out of left field, and realy tragic. Also the closest I've ever come to mourning for a celebrity. We smoked a J in his honor while listening to "Cemetary Gates"

In the same vein as that last one... Q:What's the differece between Micheal Jackson and Neil Armstrong? A: Neil Armstrong was the first man to walk on the moon. Micheal Jackson likes to touch little boys.

Boon and Locke found a crashed airplane on a cliff, so Boon went inside to investigate. While he was inside, the plane fell off the cliff. Locke got him out, and back to Jack, but man is he fucked.

Q:How did the tap dancer break his leg? A:He fell into the sink. Two goldfish are sitting in a tank. One looks at the other and says "so, do you know how to drive this thing?" Q:What does a fish say when it swims into a wall? A:Dam! Q:What'd the farmer say when he lost his tractor? A:Where the fuck is my tractor?

The whole scene with Locke freaking out at the hatch was excellent, especially the music. And the light? Holy balls.

Weird. Around here, diesel is like, 70 cents per, with regular gas being about 90.

Florida Bill Would Allow Students To Sue Teachers
The Metal Maniac replied to Hogan Made Wrestling's topic in Current Events
I'd argue that in order for Stalin to be completely unchallengable, the USSR would have HAD to have been the best nation on earth (at least in terms of arms), unless you're talking about challenges from within the USSR. And in order for them to reach that goal, they had a hell of a long way to go, so I think it would be necessary to make the country a better place (at least in some respects) in order for Stalin to achieve his goals. And yeah, in the eyes of much of the world, killing people because of their race is worse then killing people because they're people. I don't think that's right (because killing is killing, and killing is wrong) but that IS why much of the world think Hitler was more evil. -
I thought diesel fuel was less expensive then regular fuel. I know a guy who was considering getting a diesel fueled car just so he'd pay less in gas.

Because Hitler's crimes were based on race. While Stalin did kill more people, most of those deaths were, if I'm not mistaken, due to his immense paranoia and probably some starvings too. Bottom line, Hitler wanted to kill all the Jews, so he tried to do just that. Stalin really just wanted the USSR to be the best nation there was (which is a much better reason then just wanting people to die) but in order to do that, in his mind, it took lots and lots of killing. -
How would WWE react in the event of a tragedy?
The Metal Maniac replied to Dimensions's topic in The WWE Folder
If I'm not mistaken, after the Beware of Dog PPV where the power went out, the WWF simply booked another show a few days (maybe a week or two?) later, in the same area, and they honored tickets/PPV purchases for the re-show. Why couldn't they just have done that? I mean, they did it before, didn't they? -
Oh, I love Clone High, but it's just that seeing the same animation style used for Star Wars, which is a totally different animal, is annoying. I can't help but laugh at it.

Doing spoilers is exactly like doing quotes, only you put the word "spoiler" in the brackets, instead of quote. See?

Signs is technically Science Fiction, but it's not very GOOD science fiction. Because while there is no guarantee that an alien would have any idea how to operate a locked door (I mean, they come from a planet which may not even HAVE doors; no matter how smart they are, they're not gonna just assume that this big brown thing is a way to get somewhere else if they've never encountered anything else like it before) you can't escape the fact that, with a weakness to water, the aliens would have been dead long before they ever got to do ANYTHING. I mean, there's water in the AIR, people. And while the aliens may not have realized that water would harm them before landing on the planet, you'd think they'd try to figure out just what that stuff that covers 2/3's of the planet they're trying to invade is.

I agree. The cartoon ALWAYS makes me think of Clone High, which is kind of annoying.

John Cena copying Jadakiss...

I thought he stole that laugh from Super Troopers. You know, where buddy throws the bottle of syrup at the cop, he turns around and then gets a little "Ah-HA" laugh in response? Yeah, that's where I thought it came from. -

If Luke knew who Anikan really was
The Metal Maniac replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Television & Film
Someone explain this term to me. I know it means re-doing what was already done, but it looks like it's short for something (I think I've seen it spelled ret-con). Where does the word come from? -
How long is he gonna be out for after WM? That just makes him winning an even stupider idea.

I sincerely doubt it, firstly because Orton annoys me a hell of a lot more then the Rock ever did, and secondly because I don't think it's possible for Orton to get as much better as the Rock did. I would argue that there ARE at least a hundred workers out there (as in, not in the WWE) who are more qualified to be ME in the WWE, based on their skills and experience as compared to Orton's. And if the WWE is dumb enough to bury everyone, that's THEIR problem. As a fan, I won't take "we already ruined everyone you like, so start liking this guy instead" as an excuse. I agree. But notice how much less effort it took to get Batista over as opposed to Orton? Because I think there's much better wrestlers on the roster who could out-draw Orton with ease if they were given half the push he was. Off the top of my head... Eddie, Benoit, Rey Jr, Cena, JBL, HHH, Batista, Jericho, Booker T, HBK, Edge, and I'll stop there. And yeah, not all of these guys are stellar in all those catagories, but most of them, in my eyes, are only really lacking in one spot, and they make up for it strongly in others. And besides, you admitted yourself that Orton is lacking in ALL those catagories. In the next two weeks before WM? No, putting Orton over a score of legends, making him the youngest WWE Champ AND (potentially) putting him over the Undertaker is putting all your eggs in one basket. And lose money. And the chance to use this exact opportunity to put someone over who actually deserves it. I wouldn't. But I sure as hell wouldn't even think about putting someone over 'Taker who got fairly substantial boos (as a FACE) just for mentioning that he challenged the Undertaker to a match. I'd also build to it much more then a month in advance and establish a feud between whoever it is I'd theoretically book 'Taker against. But they're gonna hate it when Orton does it. But I guess that's okay, since he got pushed. I mean, even if the push didn't work, he still got pushed, right? None. And he stopped being over real quick. Don't you think he might need to be able to actually sustain his heat if he's gonna amount to anything? Otherwise, they're going to have to push him all the time just to keep him over. You know, like that HHH guy everyone loves.
