How Come they never made it big?
The Metal Maniac replied to I like Forums's topic in General Wrestling
I was surprised that Mike Awesome never made a name for himself stateside outside of ECW. I mean, he's big...what else do you NEED to get over with Vince? -
So yeah, I've got a bunch of icons on my desktop, and they're all titled what I've got in the sub-title, only with different numbers. They're all notepad files, and when I open them, I get: And so on. They're pretty big, and have a lot of Java-looking stuff in them. So...what are they? What are they for? Can I safely delete them form my PC? I have no idea where they came from or why they're there. Any help?

In the courtyard of Edinburgh Castle in Scotland, there is one square yard of land that is considered Nova Scotian (which is a Canadian province) soil. No one knows where it is, but they know it is there.

VIDEO GAMES CAUSE PEOPLE TO KILL
The Metal Maniac replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in Video Games
Actually, I read a book years ago about that exact thing. Video Games making people kill. I think it was called Game Over or something like that...and it involved this new arcade where kids would go and play these really violent games, then they'd go psycho and kill people. I only remember it because one of the killings involved someone getting their skull smashed in with a hammer, and another involved someone getting run over with a buick multiple times. Like, they ran them over, backed up, did it again, etc. It was fucked, especially since I think I was still in elementary school when I read it. -
Rey's DVD may be early in terms of his WWE work, but that's okay. It still features some awesome WCW matches (I'm going off the top of my head here, but I think it has him vs Malenko and Jericho) and it might even have the 2/3 falls match he had in ECW with...Psycosis? I dunno, it's been a while since I watched the DVD. It also has Rey vs Benoit vs Angle, which is honestly one of the best three-way matches I've ever seen.

You know, you could make this exact same argument for the WWE in general.

I love the fact that you can practically hear 'Taker saying "SELL, ASSHOLE" to Hogan. -
I loved that show, if only for how much they frigged with mythology. I mean....a power ring? Daedalus, the evil bastard? Just weird.

I remember this show very well. It explained the fucking THEORY OF RELATIVITY in one episode. Yeah, that's right. Some crazy scientist dude with a guy in a rat suit explained E=MC^2 to me.

VIDEO GAMES CAUSE PEOPLE TO KILL
The Metal Maniac replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in Video Games
But many parents do, because they apparantly don't care about what their child sees/hears/plays. It's not like anyone should be stopping you from buying whatever you please for your child, but I think that by telling all potential customers that certain things are not appropriate for children under a certain age, they should, at least, be absolved of any potential blame should the child turn out to be a psychopath. Because really, playing video games doesn't make you kill people. It just gives you an excuse when you do. -

The best part of that video is the fact that the guy is too fucking stupid to even land on the table properly; he hits the table feet-first, which pretty much destroys any chance of it cushoning the fall at all. You gotta feel for the guy who was willing to take that; I mean, he HAS to be a complete and utter moron to allow someone to do that. And didn't Ric Blade climb back up the trailer and try again? I dunno, it mighta been someone else...whatever happened to him anyway? Did he cripple himself? That was pretty comical. I think more wrestlers should do stuff like that; you know, mock the guy who screwed up. It always bugs me that they try to cover up blown spots by doing it again, or the announcers will start saying that he "just barely missed, but still made contact". If a guy obviously screws up, they should just say that he screwed up, and chalk it up to the fact that it's a high-risk move. I mean, nobody's perfect. -

One of the guys from the Insane Clown Posse, I believe. I dunno which one though. I can't tell them apart. -
Hey, as a test, I wrote useless moron Scott Keith...it said useless moron useless moron. Yeah, just like that. I mean, I understand he's a useless moron, but does it need to be said twice? Okay, oddly enough, it apparantly only says it twice if you're previewing the post. How bizarre. Wait, no, it does say it twice. This board makes my head hurt. Unless.... Okay, apparantly editing posts adds another useless moron each time. Weird. I'm gonna delete them, cuz it looks dumb. And I'm gonna stop talking to myself.

He didn't NEED to pull him up more; he had him in perfect position, and all he had to do was drop him, but instead, he lowered him down slowly and THEN dropped him. -
Strangest crowd reaction ever
The Metal Maniac replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in General Wrestling
I know it's just the way the Japanese fans are, but MAN, some of the reactions they were giving/not giving on RAW and SD were just odd. The whole clapping in unison bit was weird...as was them making no sound while JR and the King are trying to sell the main event. It was just so odd to hear them freaking out over the match, while the fans were SILENT. -
Benoit throws some of the best powerbombs in the history of wrestling.

But...both the botched SSP AND the botched Asaii Moonsault are in the video. It was the moonsault that did it though, no question. I can't even watch that clip anymore. -

You know, now that I've seen it, I can say with reasonable confidence that there is no way in HELL that powerbomb botch was all Holly's fault. He was not sandbagging Lesnar; he went up for it perfectly, but then Lesnar held him there for some reason, then lowered him, THEN dropped him. And JESUS CHRIST, why isn't London dead? -
Now I'm curious. Hoff, what was this thread of yours that got deleted from Site Feedback?
-
Then why do you post here?

And how's that? Like, will there have to be some sort of meeting of the mods before someone can get banned? Or can obvious trolls still be banned by the first mod who catches them?

Am I the only person who remembers Tom saying on a number of occasions that he doesn't give a flying fuck about flaming and that people should just grow up and deal with it?

Has the Undertaker ever put anyone over cleanly?
The Metal Maniac replied to Prophet of Mike Zagurski's topic in General Wrestling
So lemme see if I understand your viewpoint... Brock Lesnar beat the Undertaker, but since Undertaker's hand was "injured", and even though Taker used the hand anyway, it's not a clean win, even though HitC matches are anything goes. That about right? -

The Metal Maniac replied to Prophet of Mike Zagurski's topic in General Wrestling
Yeah, but keep in mind that, at the time, Kane wore a suit that covered his whole body outside of his left(?) arm. Taker wore a Kane suit that covered that too, so you could tell something was amiss, but considering he was completely covered, it wasn't that bad. It doesn't matter what you look like when you have a mask on. Didn't Taker use that hand anyway?
