Marvel & Pixar To Work Together?

Actually, the Fantastic Four as a CGI cartoon isn't that bad of an idea. Well, it'd be better then a live-action version, at least, because it'd be so much easier to pull off everyone's powers in a believable way.

    Kill NHB?

If a thread changes from one where something is actually discussed, to one where it's just 4 people flaming at each other, then it's out of hand. Like, I totally agree with you that flaming, in some ways, should be allowed; but it should never be allowed to be the focus of a thread, because that just ruins what could've been a decent thread. I don't feel there's anything wrong with a heated debate that involves a bit of name-calling. But when that debate is heated enough that the only thing they're debating is who's the bigger asshat, then that's a problem. And what did I mean by ban-worthy flaming? I probably could've stated it better (because looking back, it almost makes me look racist) but what I meant was pretty much what you said: Allow flaming in all folders. As I understand, flaming someone in, say, Music can get you banned. Thus, I worded that as "ban-worthy flaming", because it is, really.

    Kill NHB?

I think BX raises a good point. If you allow flaming everywhere, it will get out of hand, especially in places like CE. Why not just lessen the rules on what constitues ban-worthy flaming? Like, allow for people to toss in "you goddamned cunt" in an argument if it seems necessary, but don't allow people to start threads soley for the purpose of flaming, or to flame people in other threads without contributing to the actual conversation. That way, if I feel like calling BX a cunt for whatever reason, I can't just go waste board space doing so. But if I can find a thread in which BX states something that I disagree with, then I can disagree with him, and in the process, call him a stupid fucking cunt. Not that I feel BX is a stupid fucking cunt, I'm just making a point. I see what you mean Tom, but I think the potential for every other thread to deteriorate into mindless flaming is a bit strong. But if people HAVE to keep the flaming contained within something else in order to avoid being banned, then we're cooking with gas, methinks.

    Child Criminals

What about cases where a child may be young enough to honestly not understand the consequences of their actions? I'm not trying to defend kids who do dumb things, but there's got to be some kids who literally don't realize the consequences of certain behaviours, due to their age. I don't think it'd be fair to hold them to the same standard as everyone else. Of course, that was probably the original intent of child crime laws, but I think they set the age too high.

    Child Criminals

I'm quite sure not everyone who goes to work drunk is caught. Maybe they're not sloppy, falling-down drunk, but I know for a fact some of my co-workers come in after getting a buzz on.

    Child Criminals

That's not fair though, because you can be drunk and still capable of doing your job; you just might do it poorly, or do it while cursing at your co-workers. I think that being intoxicated on the job should be more of a matter for your boss, not the government though.

    Child Criminals

You're insane. Nothing personal, I just think that sending a kid to rehab for smoking A joint is a bit much, especially whereas it may be the first joint he's ever smoked. Or maybe it's not, and he only smokes once in a blue moon. I suppose if one dug into it and found out that this kid who was caught with a joint was also a hardcore cokehead, then that'd be acceptable, but one joint, straight to rehab doesn't sit well with me.

Chris Benoit unhappy about jumping to Raw

Give me a reason to (You know, like some actual PROOF and not just ramblings about what some people may or may not have said about 6 years ago), and I'll consider it.

Chris Benoit unhappy about jumping to Raw

You know, you'd think that if WCW couldn't legally show a WWF Championship belt on their shows, then 1. The J-Crown belt would never have been on WCW TV, and 2. Madeusa would've never thrown the WWF Women's title in the trash on WCW TV. Outside of physically taking the belt away from Bret, how was it impossible for him to have it on WCW TV?

    On a WWE DVD? NEVER.

    Child Criminals

I don't think it is possible to OD from pot...you'd burn out and be asleep long before you could smoke enough to kill yourself. Also, I don't think that expulsion should be a punishment for being caught drinking/smoking on school property. I mean, if they're already starting to drink/smoke, how is telling them that they never have to go to school again supposed to help?

    Benoit vs. HHH to change

This is about the stupidest thing I've heard all year. It makes the RR completely pointless, as Benoit's solid hour of hark work apparantly doesn't match HBK NOT WINNING the last title shot he had.
  13. The Metal Maniac

    Chris Benoit sucks.

THE HELL IT WASN'T~! Mike Awesome murdering Spike Dudley with like, 4 Awesome Bombs is the best thing in wrestling history.

    Pixar ends negotiations with Disney

You must mean combined, right? Cuz RotK made more cash then Pirates did, if IMDB speaks the truth.

    Pranks you pulled

Once, while in the process of rolling up about 23 joints, my buddy's younger brother (like, 16, so it's not THAT bad) and his buddy kept pestering us to sell them some. We ended up just ripping a smoke in half, then rolling the tobacco and selling them that. Stupid kids.

    Why so many German suplexes?

I believe Brock does a Fisherman's suplex, not a buster, because he doesn't land them on the top of their head. He just back-bumps.

Boy in 'Wrestling Death' Freed From Jail

Well...then what do you do with him? Honest question - what the fuck do you do with a kid who's already killed someone & spent time in prison at the age of..what is he now...16 maybe? You can't just send him on his merry little way. And this community service and stuff...I dunno, but somehow, I would think that doing what he's done would fuck up a person's brain beyond the point that cleaning garbage off the highway could fix it.

    a Precedence would be set

Remember when Chris Jericho was the Undisputed Champion, the first man to ever beat both Rock & Austin in two straight matches, and win two belts in the process? Remember how people on the net love Jericho, so this should've been cause for great celebration? And remember how, by the end of his reign, he was literally cleaning up the shit HHH's dog left on the floor? This fed could fuck up a wet dream. I'll probably end up bitching about how stupid it is that HHH will take the belt back in 3 months, tops.
  19. The Metal Maniac

    Why so many German suplexes?

I think it has something to do with who else is using the move, and when. If your favourite wrestler of all-time is starting to get out of the business just as you're getting in, then it's a tribute. If a guy who you respect is retired, and has been for years, then it's a tribute. If a guy who wrestle often goes down with a serious injury, and mere days later you're using a move that no one else ever used on a regular basis (I know others have used it in Japan, but honestly, before Benoit, who did you EVER see use that move?) which happened to be one of his trademark spots (As in, not a finisher, but a move they almost always use to set up a bigger move) then you're a thieving cunt. Oh, and I hate what's happened to the German suplex. It's always done safer now (They go straight up then fall backwards, as opposed to bridging back) which doesn't look as good, and it's being used as a fucking rest spot.

Songs defined by a certain spot......

In Iced Earth's "Dante's Inferno", right after the "All you sinners cry" line, when it goes into this fucking badass riffage for a minute or two. I can listen to that section 5 times in a row. It's great.

    Ex-Judas Priest Drummer news

Thanks for clearing that up...Travis is one of my favourite drummers, so I was worried about that.

    a Precedence would be set

If you wanna get really anal about it, you could point out that Jericho's been both WCW and WWE cruiserweight champ...since the current fed Cruiser belt is the WCW one; they just started calling it the WWE belt one day, then changed the design.

The OAO Royal Rumble Results/Match Ratings Thread

Was I the only one who felt that every match outside of the Rumble and HHH/HBK looked as though the guys were told on the way to ringside that they had to cut ten minutes? Everything felt too short.

Rap: Why does it get such a bad "rap " around here

I think it's because they're based on two totally different things; Metal music focuses primarially on the music, while rap focuses primarilly on the rap itself. This became extremely evident to me the other day when, while watching a rap video (I wasn't in control of the remote) I realized that the beat the rapper had going wasn't even needed in the song. It was just the same beat, over and over and over. The only reason it seemed to be there was to make the rap sound like more then just him rhyming quickly. So you're always going to get this split between people who value the use of musical instruments in music (obviously those who favour metal) and those who feel that lyrics are more important then all that jazz. They're at opposite ends of the musical spectrum just about, so even if they're somewhat connected as far as their roots & creation goes, the end results are just too different. Also, I don't think the fact that both genres shared an idea of rebellion is very significant. Music has been all about rebellion for quite some time, going back to the 1950's when Rock and Roll was going to poison our youth, rape our daughters and eat our babies. I can agree with the rest of what you're saying Laz, but I think rebellion is so often critical to music that it's kinda pointless to say that genre A and genre B are connected because they're both rebellious.
