Huge Update On Chris Benoit's WWE Future
The Metal Maniac replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
1. Just because Vince probably will want to send the fans home happy, that doesn't mean that Benoit is going to win. Vince might put the WWE title match in the main event, and have a face win there, as opposed to Benoit. This makes NO FUCKING SENSE AT ALL. How the FUCK are they going to book this properly? The rules of the Royal Rumble are very simple: The winner gets a title shot. Of course, thanks to the fact that we have two titles, it's a little more complex; The winner gets a shot at the title of their brand. So what you'd need to have is Benoit cutting a promo in which he basically states that even though he *knows* he can beat Brock Lesnar, even though he *wants* to beat Brock Lesnar, and even though he JUST WON A FUCKING TITLE SHOT FOR THE WWE FUCKING TITLE, he wants to wrestle HHH. A man he has NO REASON to hate. A man he has NO REASON to want to wrestle. And don't gimmie that "Heyman said he can't have a title shot ever again" BS. Past years clearly show that you CAN'T stop the Rumble winner from claiming his prize unless he willfully forfeits it. If there was any way to stop it, then Vince would never have allowed Austin to take his shot, and he OWNS THE FUCKING COMPANY. If the owner can't stop him, why the fuck should someone who's subordinate to the owner be able to do so? Fuck...I hate looking for internal logic and consistency in the fed, because it really doesn't exist anymore. The worst part is, Benoit probably will cut a promo stating that he wants HHH, and the whole thing will just be a verbal blowjob about how great HHH is and how proud Benoit would be to beat him, blah blah blah, so that HHH just looks *that* much better when Benoit ends up in the midcard while HHH is riding high. Actually, no, the worst part is that I gave up on RAW so I could just watch my favourite wrestlers on SD, HHH free. Now he's fucking stealing that from me too. EDIT: I guess I'm not done yet. What about winning the ACTUAL belt, from a guy he has an ACTUAL reason to fued with, in what would be the cultimation of an ACTUAL angle that's been building for months? I think that'd be a bit better. Because if the Fed has proven one thing time and time again, it's that keeping Canadian fans happy is ALWAYS their #1 priority. -
The very last one in Mankind/Rock at RR '99. Right in the back of the head. Just sick.

Teenage Girl's X-Ray Vision Baffles Scientists
The Metal Maniac replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in General Chat
Ok...so she can only see through people? Right. One would think that they'd just have someone stand on the other side of the wall and hold up fingers. -
Like, 95%, or something like that. It's essentially grain alcohol.
-
I'd like to point out that, by now, people should stop using HHH's run of good matches in 2000 to justify anything HHH does. Having one good run of matches FOUR FUCKING YEARS AGO doesn't mean the guy is Jesus.

I wondered what episode that was from. I distinctly remembered the ad, but couldn't place it.

Weekend Box Office Report: 1/16/04 - 1/18/04
The Metal Maniac replied to a topic in Television & Film
I "saw" Along Came Polly this weekend. By that, I mean we walked into the theater (for reasons still unknown to me; I thought we were going to see something else, but my friends have BAD taste in movies), sat down, and in about 10 minutes, I feel asleep. I dazed kinda in and out for a while, then woke up at about the 70-minute mark, upon whence both of my friends told me that they hated the movie. So I said "Why don't we just leave?" For reasons beyond me, they REFUSED to leave the theater, even though they both hated the movie. So I got up, went to the bathroom, chatted with a buddy for a while, then came back about 10 minutes before the end. So....I heard it sucked. -
Well, if people can stand up to Predators (not all people, but hey, some have survived) then why shouldn't aliens be able to? I only saw the original Predator (and about half of the sequel) a few weeks ago, and I really liked it, so I'm pretty hyped for this flick. It makes me wanna see all the Alien movies as well (I've only seen the first). EDIT: I just watched that trailer/interview thing. HOLY SHIT. This looks like it could be awesome. I love how they fit the Predators into human history...

I never thought I'd hear anyone say that about a Simpsons reference.
-
For the record, they do have a full-length video for "One"...so I'd assume it's just that on a track, no?
-
I don't think so...they showed Cowboy Bob Orton on the program even, so I would assume it's another name. Not really sure though.
-
Well, when you consider that Orton is where he is basically because of his name (On Confidential or something like that, they said he lierally just walked into the WWF offices and said "Hello, I'm Bob Orton's son" and *poof* he has a job) and that it's been painfully obvious for a while that he WILL be in the main event, whether anyone likes it or not, then fuck yeah he did. London got nothing. Orton got the fed on a silver fucking platter.
-
No, but then again, Brawler didn't suffer a major injury that practically wrote it's own storyline.
-
'Saulty: 1. There's also a difference between not earning something, and not GETTING something that you earned. 2. Even the Brooklyn Brawler has had a world title shot.
-
Actually, it was the moonsault that broke his arm, but he got back up and finished the match anyway.
-
While I can understand the argument that he hasn't earned a world title shot, there's a world of difference between nothing and the world title. I refuse to believe that a man who gave Vince ten years of his life, and put in the kind of effort Holly did at times (Say what you will about his wrestling talent, but a guy who can break his arm and keep going deserves at least some respect for it) earned NOTHING. Did he earn a world title shot? Probably not. Does that mean that he didn't earn or deserve anything? Hell no.

Has there ever been a less-convincing title threat
The Metal Maniac replied to AnonymousBroccoli's topic in The WWE Folder
If by "saving his career" you mean "getting him stuck into a one-month main-event program that everyone knows he's going to lose by almost ending the man's career but good", then yes. -
No. I don't expect a 4-star classic, but I do think it'll be a decent, brutal little match. Nope.

Did anyone say that? Nope. You inferred that. Survery says....no. Your Olympic hero stated: Thanks for playing. -

I think that RRR summed up the whole thing best at the top of page 3. I had expected them to keep the whole thing based more on the neck injury then the belt, but whatever. I still think, however, that the match is going to start with a strong Holly offense, then Lesnar will eventually take back control and win decisively. At least, that'd probably be the best way to do it. That way, no one is really hurt by it, as Holly doesn't look like a complete tool, and Lesnar finishes looking like the monster he is. And I laugh at the people who say that people don't buy Holly because of Spark Plugg. I doubt the majority of people watching WWE these days even remember Spark Plug. -
I thought death threats were grounds for banning?
The Metal Maniac replied to a topic in Site Feedback
Man, I hate to post in threads like this, but this has to be pointed out. Exactly. Talking about it. There's a world of difference between talking about something (especially when it's obviously meant in jest) and wishing for it to happen. Thank you for proving yourself wrong. -
Because if you get it from a doctor, it's legal.
-
Good to know I wasn't the only one who instantly thought of Re-Boot. And for the record, it was an ABC show, and I know that for a fact.
-
You know, until now, I didn't think this was possible, but your opinion is wrong. Replace St. Anger with Bleeding Me, and you're cooking with gas... Load > St. Anger

Man, Backlund's Iron Man Rumble is like the best thing ever. It's that one moment just before he attacks Yoko, where he looks around dazed, and you can almost hear him say "Holy fuck, I'm still in this thing?" Glorious. He needs to be a surprise entrant every year.
