Yes. This is already comfirned to be the case, that there are a new class of games that will only work on the DSi. Because the DSi has two touchscreens.

I'm now hearing from a number of sources that you WILL be able to play games off of the SD card. Who the hell knows. We'll see in Spring 09.

I know it is an available storage method, but I'm not sure if its used for apps/if it has to be used for apps. Remember, they're putting a camera in it too, and you could store game demos in memory when the original DS and DS Lite were powered on. Already confirmed, SD memory will be used for apps from the DS Store. There is built in storage as well.

NOT SO FAST! They NEVER said "Load directly from SD cards." They said, "You can download games directly to SD memory." And then "Copying games from SD memory to Wii memory is much faster." Still hoping you can load games from the SD card.

I was playing Lost Planet Colonies on PC. Thought the damn game crashed because the thing hung for a minute before saying "Games for Windows Live is disconnected."

The logic behind no slide is that it makes escaping certain bosses' patterns much easier. Imagine fighting Galaxy Man with a slide. Not that he's hard anyway.
