You know what's really amazing? I wasn't even trying when I got those scores, except maybe for sequence. Besides, nothing exciting happens in this forum. What's the fun in being a mod?

Alright, I've decided. It is going to be related to beating me in a game. You can do one of the following: Beat any one of my scores in Geometry Wars 2. If you do this, you must PM me immediately after you win, or send me an Xbox Live Message. I also reserve the right to improve my current high scores at any time (and will attempt to do so, trust me) -OR- Challenge me to a game that I consider myself good at, and defeat me. This list can be vague, so let me try to narrow it down: Generally any fighting game. No sports games. Anything else on a case-by-case basis. Note that it may not have to be limited to Xbox titles; I play a good game of Warcraft 3. This contest has no time limit, but if I sense that everyone has given up or lost interest, I will give one week's notice. If no one makes a challenge to me within a week, I will use the code myself.

Well, It would be fun to have it be some test of skill, but some people might not own the game I choose. I would like to include everybody. But doing something that might be hard to get people to do (say, posting a video of themselves doing something, for example, "Matt Young'in it") could turn people off.

Fuck that, I'd play Street Fighter and drink lychee wine. That stuff is good.

Braid is fucking bullshit, by the way. This is the dumbest fucking metaphor ever. And to get the real ending is the biggest load of bullshit in the history of gaming. I'm serious. You all remember all the bullshit about stuff like, "You can bring Aeris back to life if you do some ridiculous shit?" Well, imagine if that shit was TRUE. You have to wait 2 and a half hours in one level for a cloud to move. And then Another 30 minutes to rewind it back. Fuck me. And that's how you get ONE of the stars.

Does the background turn black? If so, your version of Windows Vista is considered invalid. IE is the only thing that runs so that you can validate your copy of Vista.

If you shoot in the direction you are moving, you can usually get through tight spaces. There's not many enemies faster than your ship.

IGN hasn't had credibility vis-a-vis fighting games since around 2004 or so. They did a review of Tekken 4, and one of the editors went to Tekken Zaibatsu and ran his mouth... and got smacked down hard. I mean, read their Soul Calibur 4 reivew: "Yoda is broken." First of all, you can't declare any character "broken" before the game has been played for at least a week, too premature otherwise. Second, Yoda sucks it long, and sucks it hard.

You basically need to play and practice the game until you can play it in an "Alpha Wave" state of mind. Practice on Geo Wars 1, if you have it.

You know what's funny? RE my Geometry Wars 2 scores? I'm not even trying. Fazzle only had scores higher than me because I only played certain gametypes long enough to unlock others. Bray, dogs. Bray.

Sorry to hear that; I love Gamefly. When a game ships, I get it the next day. Been a member for over a year, so I save 10% on used games. I got Soul Calibur IV for $40.

Downloaded Facebreaker Demo. Played for thirty seconds. Promptly deleted. I agree that all fighting games boil down to a guessing game. However, Facebreaker limits my options down to two: the right one, or the wrong one. BS.

A just frame is a concept taken from Tekken. Entering the input of a move during a specific frame during another move will result in new attacks or attacks with modified properties. Paul in Tekken has a Just Frame on one of his power punch combos. Steve, last I checked, had a metric shitton. In SC4: Misturugi's Neutral A+B has a just frame on the second hit by pressing B. Pretty sure Sophitia's QCF Dash has a just frame or two in there as well. Just Frames reward execution and punish button-mashing, as well as provide additional execution options without the need to add additional move commands.

How different is it? I remember it being a fairly fun fighting game with swords and some pretty cool combos. Pace is slower. Fewer juggle opportunities than I recall. JUST FRAMES. Throws actually able to interrupt hit frames (Maybe this isn't new, but man, I haven't played a 3D fighting game that allows this in a while) Fewer moves per character, and more emphasis on the 8-way run.

Dammit. I picked this up. This is WAYYYYY different from what I remember. This game isn't aping Tekken, methinks.
