If you're gonna bag on the Wii version, you can at least bag on the fact that it won't have downloadable content at launch, and the best they've done on that is "We're working with Nintendo to include that down the road." However, according to news sources, Wii online play is smoother than PS3's.

My TV is 720p, but it can take 1080i signals. I think it then converts them to 720p.

If you're only that far in the game, you'll soon find the game is less linear, especially when it comes to the energy cells. I actually didn't know you don't need all the energy cells to get where you need to go.

How is GH3 being a port a bad thing? Wouldn't it get developed for one system, then copied to all the others?

Well, sometime after midnight tomorrow, ths is no longer in beta. One of the good things about the beta testnig of this was that they found bugs in Half Life 2: Episode One that have been fixed. Sadly, there won't be any new maps at launch, though I played on a user-created map yeseterday that was pretty straightforward, cp_lazytown. One of the weaknesses of it is that the defending team basically has the game locked up once the middle control point is secured, due to a heavy high-ground advantage.

I know I bagged on Hyper Fighting online, but that was game-specific: By all accounts, Super Turbo HD is going to rule: Better netcode, a rebalanced mode for those that want it (David Sirlin is helming that initiative, it'll be fun to see his interpretation of how to balance Super Turbo. Not saying he can't, in fact, he may be the most qualified person in America for it), and the graphics. But no reason to randomly diss specific systems. Thread is mostly for the discussion and dissemination of Wii online info. Speaking of: Rando, add me to your Strikers friends list. Speaking of speaking of: Strikers last night was frustrating. Seems like the strategy everyone uses is Boo and Dry Bones juke into goal now. I wish Strikers matchmaking would match you against similiarly skilled people more often (though playing on a Sunday night, right after a stat reset... probably not gonna happen).

Dang, no spoilers in the box art. That leads me to believe that several of the characters already revealed are going to be unlocks. I figured they wouldn't show the hidden characters on that site until after launch.

Speaking of Retro games, IGN is saying that Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, and World Heroes are all releasing on the VC tomorrow. I hope we get something else besides those.

We might be seeing 4 per week soon. Europe got their first Neo Geo game today, so that means we'll probably get it on Monday. Combine that with Turbo CD games coming out, and I think we'll be getting 4 more often.

Couple things: Hyper Fighting online is complete bullshit. Super Turbo looks better, thanks to the efforts of the ggpo project. Fun little thing to play with, of course, though it's real purpose is to give Capcom better netcode. http://ggpo.net I want to see if Nintendo can code a fighting game online. Custom Robo isn't bad, and works on a similar scale, so I think they can do it.

I picked up a Philips 32" LCD at Best Buy for $699. It's on sale in their ad. I'm pretty happy with it so far.

Nintendo could release a package with a DS cartridge for the allowing of playing VC games. The DS cartridge would contain the relevant emulators, etc. The VC games themselves could be stored on a memory cartridge in the GBA slot. Envision: I buy a Game boy game on the VC, and download it to my DS's GBA memory cartridge. To get people to buy this, they could package a Wii points card with the DS and GBA modules.

OLED's are probably the future of things. Apple uses LED displays in some of their laptops, and OLED is an improvement on LED's.

Are you talking about Syncing remotes to the Wii? Open up the battery case, hit the sync button. Then open up the front flap of the Wii. Hit the sync button. Then it thar be done.

Welp, I just beat this. The 100% ending is cool for Metroid Prime: Hunters fans. The rest will just think it's Dark Samus. That's not Dark Samus in the ship at the end, btw, it's Sylux.
