So Fire Pro R is back

If true, this is my favorite video game news in a long, long time. I have the GBA versions of the game, and I have FPD for the Dreamcast, but I've never bothered to mod my PS2 or anything like that. Here is the link to the thread at the FPC board. I emailed the guy, and he said that it will be for the PS2. I also did an online search for the email address, and it does indeed look totally legit. This has been confirmed by Kotaku as legit.

That's a good card, but it's not a DirectX 10 Card, although all games coming out in the foreseeable future will still support DX 9. As developers get better at working with DX 10, it'll look better and better. 7900 should be fine for most things though; I think you can even play BioShock. (If the rest of your PC can handle it)

My thoughts exactly about Sonic, good sir.

I enjoyed the heck out of F.E.A.R. Some people will say Extraction Point, its expansion, wasn't that good, but I thought it was, even though the plot point of is annoying. Company of Heroes is a great RTS. I will also admit to playing Halo 2 and Shadowrun on Vista, though I got both games for $40 total at a Circuit City sale. I don't recommend paying full price for either game. What graphics card did you buy?

    Wii

Exclusive information: Guilty Gear XX Accent Core will hit for Wii in October, for $39.99. It comes out on PS2 in September, for $29.99. Well, shit.

    Wii

This in today: Guilty Gear XX Accent Core confirmed for Wii and PS2 in America this fall. Wii will support Classic and Gamecube Controllers, as well as waggle BS.

    The OAO Slammiversary Thread

Both Inside Pulse and the TNA website don't have any play by play yet, but the PPV has been on for 45 minutes. Any news?

    PlayStation 3

I know I'm beating this over the head, but I want to make it clear I think it's possible to make a fine online game. With the KoF's, you didn't need two different strategies. I will admit to playing DoA 2 online, and I will agree that the lag, while sometimes fine, was such that your strategy had to change. Tekken 5 DR is 60 frames a second, so 1/60 of a second is 1 frame. I also wonder if it being in 3D makes a difference, but probably not. I believe Namco wouldn't try to take a fighting game online unless they thought they had a pretty good shot of doing it justice. I am jealous of you PS3 owners, by the way, as a result of this.

    PlayStation 3

SNK managed to get online play working for King of Fighters 2003 and Neowave over Xbox Live pretty seamlessly. I think it's possible to have an accurate online fighting game experience. However, it is a fact of physics you'll never have 0 lag. The trick is to figure out a way to fake it.

    Are arcades dead to you?

I guess I'm lucky. I live in Orange County, about a half hour drive from Arcade Infinity. The place is always super packed, and the plaza it's situated in... well, it has tremendous parking issues. It takes me about 20-40 minutes to find a parking spot. As far as the quality of the arcade, all the fighting games are in candy cabs, as it is an Asian style arcade. They were the first arcade in the country to get King of Fighters XI, which makes me happy. They have Melty Blood Act Cadenza, Fist of the North Star, Rumble Fish 2, THREE Third Strike cabinets, DDR Extreme and DDR Supernova, Guitar Freaks and Drummania, Beatmania IIDX, 2 player Initial D, 4 player Wangan Midnight, Virtua Cop 3, Pop n' Music, and more. There's some really random shit there, too.

Well, it's officially confirmed for Japan. Aksys has been rumored to be the American publisher, to which they have basically stated "We have nothing to announce at this time," even though Gamefly has a July release date listed. Aksys, I believe, is made up primarily of former Atlus staffers. While Guilty Gear on Wii has the motion control thing going on, it also supports the Classic Controller, for sane people. I hope it supports the Gamecube controller, so I can use my joystick. Edit: Here's Aksys's site.

    DS Friend codes

Now that everyone has DS Lite's (or seemingly more people than before), I'm some of you picked up some WFC Enabled games. Post your friend codes here. If you posted before, do it again, even if the codes haven't changed, because I basically cleaned up my friends lists. I'll try to keep this updated as people post their info. The best part about Bubsy was when I tried oh so desperately to pretend it was Sonic the Hedgehog.

GTA is fine, if you like that. MGS PO is superb, VP is legendary, and Ace Combat is just fine. The Nintendo DS has Phoenix Wright.

Look at my avatar. I don't understand how you can say the PSP has a more appealing lineup.

    Wii

While I'm on the Wii side of this debate, I guess, anyone who thinks Tekken 5 DR is just like Super Tekken 5 has never played Tekken 5 DR. That said, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core. Seriously.

Cooking Mama was fun for a day or two for me. It just seems like the same thing, over and over. Also, I'm a little OCD, and not getting a gold medal is UNACCEPTABLE for me. When I found out there was no additional reward for getting a gold, I was annoyed.

    The OAO Pokemon Thread

Kricketot evolves into Kricketune, which still kind of sucks. The second gym is grass type, but you can catch a Ponyta before you challenge it. That Kricketune might actually be worthwhile for it, too.

    The OAO Pokemon Thread

Diamond and Pearl are out, and a number of you have DS'es. Someone had to pick this up. Thoughts? Friend codes? I'm enjoying it so far, being a numbers and stats freak.

    The OAO Pokemon Thread

Unless it's a Netgear router (model WGR614), which basically don't work with the DS or Wii. I played my first online match (via Friend codes). Voice chat occurs throughout the entire match, including pre-match and post-match. It's not crystal-clear, but it sounds fine if you have headphones on. I'm not using the DS Headset that released the same day as Pokemon, but I found I didn't need to talk directly into the microphone for it to work. I got toasted pretty good, though. The Global Trade Center is also awesome. I traded a Pachirisu for a Piplup, and this Piplup has Ice Beam and Surf already.
