I've become too obsessed with college football to think of tailgating in any sense that doesn't involve burgers and beer.
-
Took the words right out of my fingers.
-
It's a pretty good backing track, though it seems much more suited to someone like Cee-Lo or Ludacris than Gwen Stefani.
-
They're all pretty bad, though.

The OaO Arrested Development Season 3 thread

Whoa. That was fast. Thanks. What a great time to get a new Powerbook. Torrents work so much more smoothly in OS X. -
The OaO Arrested Development Season 3 thread

Fuck, I was out shopping. Someone help me. -
I feel the exact opposite way.

I'm getting both of them. What up, multiple CBS affiliates. The announcers jibbering about how Dungy needs to think about resting his starters every time a Colt goes down for half a minute is asinine. What, is he supposed to rest every player? Sure, rest the QB, rest a few key players, but they can't actually expect him to rest his whole front 7.
-
Well, that isn't really how it works. His productions are a lot more complex than you're implying, but you did say that you don't really get the distinction between different quality levels of rap production, so okay. I think there's also something to be said for the creative impulse behind the formulation of a production, which often gets lost in what you might see as simplistic. Also, Adam Levine is a guest appearance slut these days, so you could probably get him if you pretended to be black.

Spencer was always one of my favorite smarmy cop character-actors. The Rock, The Negotiator, Cop Land...he did that shit well. Too bad.

I dunno. It hasn't really grabbed me. It feels more like "album featuring raps by guys who really, really, really like Wu-Tang, but aren't really that great." Unlike you, I'll probably just stick with the download. I was hoping for more Wu involvement, or at least more RZA beats.

I think you can make a fairly good evaluation of whether or not you're interested in a band based on this sort of nonsense. Open mind nothing; an open mind is what you have before reading that. That said, I have had the misfortune of hearing at least their singles, and find them woefully uninteresting in nearly every facet. Singer's got an occasionally fun voice, I guess.
-
Sounds like a great band.

No. Both are incredible players, but Young is a more important QB than Leinart is, if that makes sense. Same reason he (rightly) was ahead of him in the Heisman voting. Texas lived or died out of the QB position this year; Young's ability as a dual-threat makes him first-team worthy, especially as he evolved to the point that passing was his best weapon and running truly a threat, allowing him to open his passing game vastly. If you have a team with as many standout skill players as USC, I'd take Leinart. If you're in a situation like Texas, you want as much talent and damage potential as possible to go through the QB position. Very interesting situation with both teams; I don't think Texas would be as good as they are with Leinart, nor do I think USC would be as good with Young. They both suit their surroundings exceptionally well.

! Seriously. And Portishead, live? To be west coast now and then.
-
Fuck, I love that game. I started replaying it a few years back and only got as far as the dinner party where Kefka's jailed and you answer all the questions, so I really don't want to start replaying it again. But I probably will. Who took the Ragnarok esper, and who took the sword, then spent a ridiculous amount of time uncursing the stuff you needed to learn Ultima?

Stay of execution denied for Stanley "Tookie" Williams
Edwin MacPhisto replied to Dangerous A's topic in Current Events
Yeah. Ultimately, even considering his accomplishments while incarcerated, I think I'm going to have to lean towards carrying out the sentence. In the current climate, we have the death penalty as a punishment, all debates on its effectiveness as deterrent aside. Within the current legal vision of the U.S. this is really an open-and-shut case. Change the laws--perhaps even as a result of this case, though I highly doubt it--and then maybe you can partly commute the sentence of a quadruple murderer and make room for reform. The fact that Williams has seemingly reformed and made a positive impact on several lives and programs is quite disconnected from the crimes he committed and the punishment assessed to him. -

The only thing about that--him not divulging information or whatever--is that he's been in prison for 25 years. How much is he going to know that's even relevant? His efforts have made him a productive member of society at this point, so I hesitate to say "go ahead" when the country could probably get another 20-30 years of anti-gang efforts out of him if he gets clemency. Four people and indirectly many more makes that tough to swallow, though. -
By the definition of chart success, yeah. "Nothing Compares 2 U" was her only song that charted. That album was her only one to go platinum, too.

Whoa, Johnny vs. Wildchild. Don't come around for 10 months at a time and look what happens.

I've never listened to a record since I started caring about music. I think I had a Fisher Price record player with an Oingo Boingo single around the age of 4.

Late Registration is great. I mean, you haven't even heard it, have you? Your lack of interest in hip-hop probably makes it not worthwhile for you, though. Still, that U2 album is ass. Maybe talk about Mariah or something.

Why? "Like Toy Soldiers" is incredibly cheesy and has a shitty beat, and I find his jibbering about the hazards of rap feuds to be really silly. The "soldiers" metaphor he carries throughout the whole thing is elementary, and I think most of what he's saying runs at counterpurposes to what he wants to be saying.
