I too don't watch the previews, so I don't know for sure, but I can't see how Driscoll could possibly stay on after that. Edgar is hardcore and has shown himself to be able to put aside everything and get the job done despite personal tragedy; Driscoll's been consumed by her daughter all day. Nobody in 24 country has ever had to deal with something that immediate and mortifying for the rest of the day.

haha pwnz0red I like when irritating child actors get it. Decent episode, should be fun to see where we go at the turn now that the reactors have seemingly been stopped. I've said once but I'll say it again--we aren't even through half the day yet. Yipes.

Doesn't he spell it Kieth? Whattalamer. When I saw the Rollins Band, he came in and did vocals on the first 7 or 8 songs and was pretty weak. I picked up the Ultramagnetic MC's Critical Beatdown this weekend, and it's easily as good as advertised.

Whedon & Cassaday on Astonshing for another year
Edwin MacPhisto replied to starvenger's topic in Literature
Very little of that "celebrity hate" should matter in this situation, really. Whedon's written comics before, and his one retcon thing is something that he's carried off really well. Without a doubt it's the best X-title right now, and without a doubt Whedon has done the best sticking with the continuity after the "relaunch." I'll still take Morrison's run, but I'm really pleased that he's going to be around for a run of significance rather than just a year. Furthermore, I don't get the people who hated Morrison and now hate Whedon. Whedon's doing pretty much the opposite of what Morrison was doing, after all. -
Power outlet. Only takes a couple hours. You only plug into the computer to transfer songs.

The Walkmen's "Little House of Savages" is a hell of a song off an okay album.

What software do you use to rip MP3s at 160 and 192?? iTunes. You can do anything from 64-320, plus the weird filesize that's supposed to replicate CD quality exactly.

As I mentioned earlier, my iPod is from the first wave of PC ones, back in December 2002. A charge for me usually gets me about 6-7 hours if I let it go the whole time, but I usually charge it every other day or so and never have to worry about it.

Hoodie hoo when we see cops. "West Savannah" is a lazy, loping song, much as I imagine Savannah to be. And I like "Gangsta Shit." Not "Tomb of the Boom," though. The skit with Big Boi's son cursing and singing "The Whole World" that uses the same beat is better, which, uh, isn't saying much.

The iPod is fantastic. You can put any mp3 on it. I've never bought a song on iTunes and I have nearly 4000 crammed onto my old-school 20 gig model. Rip or download everything at 160 or 192 and it'll sound great. On sound quality: the headphones that come with the iPod are lame. The way to get better sound quality isn't to get a Creative or Dell player; it's to get good headphones. Hardware differences for sound are marginal. I use a dinky Sony athletic pair for on the go, and a nice $65 pair of Sennheisers when I'm at home. On price: you won't find iPods for lower than the regular price in any retail store, so just mosey down to your nearest Best Buy or whatever and buy one. The only exceptions I've seen are 1) buy a computer from Apple, get an iPod on the cheap with the deal, and 2) as a student or faculty member, buy one through a major university's computer store. Most knock 10% off the price.

That's the problem I've had shuffling between the two. Big Boi's disc is way better overall; the mood I mentioned before about Andre's disc is for better and for worse for sure. Try tossing "Reset" in there somewhere to blend from Big Boi to Andre. It's one of the few tracks on Speakerboxxx that I'd call loose. Cee-lo helps a lot for that.

Another good episode, if a bit anti-climactic after the last two or three humdingers. So long Navi, which was expected but disappointing, because he had really turned into a great character since the family went on the run. I do hope we don't layer *too* many extra conspirators on to the layers we've got. They've been at a good level thus far. And hey, how about some more training for those CTU security details. I think this is the third we've seen conked out this year. Clone Tony, give all the clones 4 arms, come on people.

I've tried cutting it down to a single-disc album, which is pretty tough if you want to keep any of the tone of The Love Below intact. Have to lose a lot of the skits and longer songs that give Dre's side much of its appeal. I might take a crack at this later tonight.

I thought he was a better short-form journalist than writer of long works. Love some of his old Rolling Stone stuff. Iconic for sure, saying amusing or worthwhile things 7 times out of 10. Seeya.

Fantastic. My roommate is jizzing everywhere because he never got to read Volume 3 and now he finally can. Thanks a goddamnmillion.

I rarely watch any of these, but PTI is still the best, just because they use that bit from Pavement's "Cut Your Hair" for the music.

First set of bands announced for Warped Tour
Edwin MacPhisto replied to Placebo Effect's topic in Music
That can't possibly be anything good. If you're going to pull a band name from F. Scott Fitzgerald, why would you use anything but Dick Diver (from This Side of Paradise)? It writes itself. -
I'll allow it!

I dunno, I think both of your analogies are kind of false. Yours is definitely false, because communism does actually exist, and RobotJerk's is probably false unless he means he actually doesn't believe in the concept of murder. I think his original use of "believe" is a bit different than what you've done now. But I still agree with the sentiment you were going for, so. Spicy McHaggis isn't making a lot of sense on this one, esp. considering the fact that sin lacks a definition outside of its religious context.

Put me in a match against whoever wins the Westminster Dog Show. Come on, bichon! -
Perhaps if you learned to write in proper English, you'd have a point. Sadly, it seems you are incapable of even that. He's just upset that his penis isn't nearly as large as ours. *Note: We do not share a penis despite language that may suggest otherwise

I guess the phrase "If your mother only knew" is the standard beatbox-and-rap-at-the-same-time line; I'm not sure if people do it because it's what Rahzel is most famous for doing, or if there's something about the sounds of the words themselves that make it easier. I saw some kid in a hip hop a capella group pull it off fairly well.

Rahzel? "If Your Mother Only Knew" and so on? He's the most famous guy who can do that, I think.
