Kerry replaced both himself and the president with robots, and made his robot do a better job.

I'd say they were one of the dark-horse contenders in the pre-season hype factory. People were just a little more chill about it since everyone was crowing about Auburn last year, ranking them in the top 10 preseason, only to have them bust and turn out very middle-of-the-road. They ended up with 5 losses, but they've certainly been on the radar recently.
-
You haven't met many teachers, I take it?
-
There's a good chance Auburn and Georgia will play twice. With LSU and Alabama already two SEC losses down, Auburn should cruise past Arkansas and have the SEC West without much trouble.
-
At least I won this week, making it a wee thread closer to legitimate. Hahahahahaha.

STUPID SMALL EMBEDDED LINK EXACTLY LIKE THE ONE I ULTIMATELY USED ...Like I read your posts anyway. Meanie.

Ha! Nugent missed! NW with the chance for a mondo upset as long as they can put a kick through...

What I liked even more was this. Short form: Carl Cameron, the Fox chief political correspondent following Kerry's campaign, published a bunch of fake parody quotes attributed to Kerry, including "Women should like me! I do manicures!" and "Didn't my nails and cuticles look great? What a good debate!" Fox has taken it off the site and issued an apology, but it was, uh, totally bizarre.

I was just about to note both of these blow-outs in the making. Two very, very unexpected huge leads. With Miami running away from Georgia Tech, it looks Tennessee/Auburn is going to be the big competitive game of the week.

VT gets the win, and West Virginia will have a tough time getting back into the top 10 this year. A decent, gritty game, but both teams were pretty sloppy. I'm less impressed with VT than I am really unimpressed with the Mountaineers.
-
I'm getting the game, but I'm also watching VT/WVU and Wake/NC State, which I'm finding more interesting. The latter is a surprise, and I'm not sure if the NC State offense can make up those 14 points the way they're playing. As for VT/WVU, even though I'm anti-Hokie, it's great to see the Mountaineers starting to get exposed. Get those pretenders out of the top 10.

No, they need to stay together till December 8th. After I see them live, they can do whatever they want.

Uh, I don't think there's much cleaning here except that he's got a new endorsement deal. No problem with that either - he already gives piles of money to charities and releases ridiculous singles. That "rep" is fine with me.

In his 30-second follow-up to the "When has Bush misled the public?" question, the president said: He repeated that sort of idea several times throughout the night. What a dangerous and dunderheaded idea. Both guys missed a bunch of kill-moments against the other, but Kerry outclassed the president tremendously in this debate. I appreciate the nuances of his positions (even if I have to get the follow-up from JOHNKERRY.COM YEAH INTERNET), and after seeing him perform so well I feel better about actually voting for him as opposed to against the sitting president.

Total Days Holding an SWF Title

King is another guy who held nothing but the world title (excluding stables belt). Man, I loved the stables belt. Even though we seemed to be the only people who cared about it. -
White Noise - The new Michael Keaton film.
Edwin MacPhisto replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
The extended prologue to Underworld is the best thing he's written, I think. Made me give a shit about baseball. -
The album feels as if someone said, "man, the world really needs the best anthemic rock group it can get," and Interpol happily obliged. The rhythm section is pushed way to the front on this album, which is a very good thing and comes close to capturing their live sound. The album isn't as textured or moody as Turn on the Bright Lights and doesn't have that album's sense of interludes (i.e. "Untitled" and "Hands Away," which spin one or two lines of lyrics into a full song), but it's stacked with excellent propulsive rockers. The lyrics are as clever and esoteric as ever, and the band scores points for proper use of the word "myriad." It's an adjective, people. Not a noun.

White Noise - The new Michael Keaton film.

Damn. I was expecting an adaptation of the Don DeLillo book. Hitler Studies and Airborne Toxic Events, bitches. -
Hey, on Damaramu's point about getting season tickets: how does that work at bigger schools? Here at UVA, where the program is still on the rise, we have 12,000 undergrads. Students still get in free to every game. I know some of my friends at UF have to buy tickets, but how much do they go for?
-
I'm glad UVA's not playing this week. I don't have to go hold my spot in the stadium for an hour and a half on the best weekend of college football yet.

Bored's College Football Pick 'Em Contest - Week 5

WEDNESDAY Marshall THURSDAY Connecticut Navy FRIDAY Utah SATURDAY Florida Virginia Tech (Die, Mountaineers!) Florida State Oklahoma Notre Dame Miami Michigan Missouri Georgia California South Carolina Kansas State Tennessee Ohio State Arizona State Tiebreak #1: How many total points will be scored in the Utah/New Mexico game? 34 Tiebreak #2: How many yards passing with UConn's Dan Orlovsky have against Pittsburgh? 200 I almost went with Georgia Tech over Miami. If it happens, kick me in the teeth. -
Shut up and grab your musket.
-
I'm just hoping that Virginia Tech k-o's West Virginia. It will be one of the rare times I root for the Hokies. If either them or one of the decent Big East teams (namely BC) can knock off the Mountaineers, then we won't have to deal with any nonsense controversy.

Well listening to you guys you'd think OU was the worst team in the country! I get ridiculed for being a fan of my team. It's absurd. Just because you guys don't like OU doesn't mean they suck and that nobody else can like them. I'm sorry but they are actually an elite college football team and one of the best in the country. Like it or not it's true. No one said a thing about OU in this thread until realworldschampion said he thought they were the only huge power in the Big XII. Which really isn't that big a knock. No sweat. The Sooners didn't even play this weekend and not everything in the college football world has to relate back to them. Being a fan is cool but this got old in the lead-up to the Sugar Bowl. They're obviously one of the best teams in the nation, and they're gonna get scrutinized as a result. Cope.
