Soooo...here's hoping they're close enough that MLB feels there's grounds to issue an extension.

Great, now I can't get the image of Mark Buehrle shoving a club sandwich into his whiskery face and going "om nom nom" out of my mind.
-
That's a bargain. I'm amazed he couldn't find a starting job somewhere. The days of him being The Mayor of Cincinnati seem like forever ago.

Sure does. Aside from the action stopping altogether for a few seconds once in a while, there doesn't appear to be any visible slowdown at all. Also,

Whole bunch of videos over here. Really good stuff. http://youtube.com/profile_videos?user=bdcool187&p=r Spoilers, and such.

Best part of the whole thing. Maybe it's a little too optimistic, but I can just see him as the second coming of Carlos Beltran.

I am going to be completely freaking ecstatic if that ends up being the actual deal. Wow wow wow.

Well, I can't hate G4 'cause they carry Ninja Warrior and Arrested Development, but everything else about the network is pretty loathsome. X-Play is a shell of what it once was and the rest of their original programming is beneath mention.

Who's this guy? http://www.flickr.com/photos/vgcats/222868...57603813685808/ Spoilers, I guess.

Twins resign Morneau (six years, seventy-five million) and Cuddyer (three years, twenty-three million with a club option for fourth). http://www.twincities.com/allheadlines/ci_...?nclick_check=1

Nerve-wracking yet extremely entertaining 1-0 win for the Jackets in Chicago tonight. Leclaire was brilliant, tending his eighth shutout of the year and racking up thirty saves in the process. Three wins in five games, not a bad road trip at all.

I don't really have anything relevant to say, but I wanted to mention how cool it is that the Blackhawks' organist plays Misirlou during games.

Anime News Network is what I use. Incidentally, the name of that song is "Shinkirou" by LOVEHOLIC.

Fascinating! I ordered mine off of Amazon with free shipping, so it's going to be a while before I get my hands on the game. It's gonna be difficult to wait that long with all the good things I'm hearing.

Columbus Blue Jackets Offense: D+. I can only imagine how bad it would be if Zherdev wasn't having a breakout year. 25th in goals per game and 21st on the power play. Since Nash and Zherdev are the only true scoring threats (the third most goals on the team is Fedorov with eight) it's hard to scrape together goals when they're not on the ice. Defense: B-. Not bad. They're 3rd in the penalty kill and 5th in goals allowed per game, but I'd tend to think the goaltending is just as responsible, especially when one considers that they're 12th in shots allowed per game. In any case, their penalty kill success alone is reason for celebration as they finished 21st in the league last in year in that particular category. Goaltending: A-. Leclaire has been phenomenal. His .926 save percentage, 2.06 GAA and seven shutouts make him one of the best goalies in the conference if not the league. Norrena's not so great, but for a backup, you could do worse. Definitely the team's strong suit at the moment. Coaching: A. Hitchcock has been a godsend for the Jackets. The improvements started showing almost immediately when he showed up last year and the work he's done with the team is really showing through this season. Columbus has improved in every facet of their play and I believe Hitchcock is mainly responsible for that. Overall: C+. The offense is definitely still a problem area and I'm concerned about Leclaire maintaining his performance throughout the rest of the year. If he falters, the Jackets' playoff chances are basically nil. Still, if he finishes out the year strong and Zherdev continues to develop, I consider Columbus a legitimate threat for the seven or eight spot. Let's hope for the seven, since they'd be embarrassed by the Red Wings if they end up eighth.

I'm much more excited about the possibility of Lucario, myself.

Well, Chavez would be the sixth - the fourth and fifth are Marlon Anderson and Angel Pagan. Chavez is a pure outfielder with better speed than either of the two, a necessity with the time off Alou's going to need. I believe Anderson's pretty much going to be used as the super utility guy and as for Pagan, I wouldn't be surprised if he's not on the roster come opening day.

Mets avoid arbitration with Endy Chavez, signing him to a two-year contract worth $3.85 million. http://www.metsblog.com/2008/01/22/news-me...e-to-extension/ Not bad at all.

White Sox sign Octavio Dotel to a two-year, eleven million dollar deal. This despite the fact he hasn't been able to break 90 MPH in Winter League. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7703382 I'll leave the honors to someone more snarky than I.

Yep. Reviews will start surfacing later today, I guess.

Has there been any early word on No More Heroes? I love the concept but I'm not sold on the gameplay just yet.

Oh, don't even try, Buck and Aikman. Tynes woulda missed it even if the snap was perfect.

Dear God what a fantastic final Road Block this is.

Hell of a pick, but dude, you gotta kneel that one.
