Oh man, I can't stop laughing at the "After" picture.

    Wii

That's extremely cool. Do you get to pick what songs play when, or is it randomly selected?

    Wii

Your going to have to explain that custom soundtrack thing because when I think custom soundtrack, I think of being able to play my own music that I have ripped to something and as far as I know, you can't save your own music to the Wii....or can you? If you have MP3's saved on your SD card, Excite Truck and the Photo Channel can play those songs. Precisely. When I play Excite Truck to the Initial D soundtrack, I just... do better. Tell me more about how this works. I wasn't going to buy Excitetruck (when I do get my hands on a Wii), but if I can replace the game's soundtrack with loads of Eurobeat, that may very well change.

I'm happy Justin Miller was chosen as Punt Returner, but at the same time, I'm kinda annoyed Laverneus Coles didn't receive any recognition for the great year he's having. Too much talent to beat, I guess.

    NFL Week 16

I'm not sure. I do know that no one within 75 miles of Buffalo will be able to watch TN/BUF, because the game won't be sold out. Probably.

Bah. I wanted NE/JAX. Guess having the Jets to watch on Monday night will have to suffice.

ESPN acquires minority stake, TV rights in...

That's actually pretty cool. If the Destroyers weren't so consistently terrible I'd be more into the sport, but I'll probably be watching anyway since it'd be nice to keep track of something besides hockey during the lull between football and baseball.

Ben Stiller at his most unfunny. Nice work, Colts! Palmer was completely blindsided.

Ah, thank you ESPN. That was delightful. *sigh*

    NFL Week 15

I'd like to suggest that one simply disregard the Jacksonville game and the Jets are a respectable +39. I understand if that's a bit too much to ask, though. In all honesty, the Jets are the worst team with a realistic shot at the wild card, with the possible exception of Denver. Cincinnati's firing on all cylinders now and the Jaguars are a great team despite the occasional hiccup against mediocre squads. Also, even though the Jets have a comparitively easy last three games, their schedule as a whole really wasn't significantly less difficult than the other contenders'. New York's strength of schedule was .508, Jacksonville's was .510, Denver's was .523 and Cincinnati's was .511. I guess what I'm saying is, they're probably the least talented team in the mix, but they still deserve to be there.

    Wii

There's about 600 Toys 'R Us stores in the US, so even the most conservative estimate puts three or four Wiis at each store.

    NFL Week 15

Well, Kansas City's out of it, so now I just gotta hope Indianapolis can get their shit together and beat Cincinnati tomorrow. Since they face Denver next week, it's be great if both teams went into it 8-6 and one left 8-7 and virtually eliminated.

You'd think that having an ounce of football knowledge would be a prerequisite to hosting a NFL halftime show, but I guess not.

Great link. I like his rendition of Guile's Theme the best, probably because that's the song I most relate SFII with.

    NFL Week 15

This is a really good game. Also, I wonder if McQuarters is going to have a fine levied against him for booting the pylon in the back of the end zone into a camerman. Yeah, bat it right into the hands of a defender. Well done.

    Top Chef...

I like Project Runway better, but as far as reality shows on Bravo go, this one's pretty darn good. My favorite episodes thus far are the one this week and the one where they made the six-course meal at Social restaurant. Amazingly, most of the contestants I didn't like are gone, and once Betty's eliminated, I'll at least like whoever ends up winning. My favorite chefs are Sam and Ilan, since they're clearly the best chefs there and are the kind of no-nonsense, hard-nosed New York workhorses that don't get involved with the drama related with this show and just cook. I even like Marcel to an extent, since even though he's obnoxious and arrogant he's talented and doesn't put up with any of Betty's shit.

    Wii

From the upcoming Wario Ware: Smooth Moves... http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/nintendo/the-...game-222349.php Wow. It's looking more and more that this is a game that should only be played with your very closest friends. That's not to say this game isn't going to be terrific, because it is.

oh noes! SABERMETRICIANS AND MONEYBALLERS MORE OF A THREAT TO GAME THAN STEROIDS Strange to see that on an Athletics site. The gist of the ridiculously melodramatic article is that Moneyball and Sabermetrics is at fault for the the financially-driven way teams are apparently put together nowadays.

I didn't see this anywhere else, so... In an unexpected announcement, Square-Enix revealed that the next installment in the Dragon Quest series is going to be on the Nintendo DS. http://ds.ign.com/articles/750/750590p1.html I'm relieved, since I was convinced that it'd be released on the PS3, meaning that I wouldn't be able to play the game for at least a couple years. But at the same time, this represents a pretty big shift in the series. Not only is it the first time a "main" title from the series is released on a handheld first (I think), but the gameplay is changing from traditional RPG to a Four Swords kinda thing. Either way, I'm excited, and I can't wait to get my hands on this title.
  24. I'm sure this thread has existed in some form at some point, but as far as I can tell, it wasn't in the recent past. Anyway, what I'm looking for are the moments in our gaming careers that became the reasons we play video games. Moments where a huge grin creeps across our face, no matter how hard we try to supress it. Moments that make us happy we're gamers. Here are a few of mine. It'd be awkward to spoiler tag them, so be wary that there are in fact spoilers at work here. Okami I don't think I've ever been as happy playing a video game as when Amaterasu comes back to Kamiki after defeating Orochi. The scene of wonderfully-animated, gibberish-spewing villagers celebrating the defeat of their tormentor as beautiful music swells in the background is one of the most heartwarming and joyful I've ever seen in a video game. I wanted to take part in that scene as long as possible, and eventually had to force myself to leave the village and advance the storyline. Dragon Quest VIII This one's a lot more simple; once the player attains the Godbird's Soulstone, they're free to fly above the expansive, meticulously crafted world of DQVIII. Even though I've experienced it dozens of times, I still get goosebumps from soaring towards the setting sun as the majestic orchestral score rises and compliments the amazing beauty of the digital scenery. Rez Nothing in the video game world is quite like playing Rez in a darkened room wearing a good pair of headphones. I'll never forget the moment my ill-defined hacking sphere flew into a vast plain 1s and 0s and defeated the first wave of enemies in perfect techno harmony. Ba-dop, dop, dop. Minna Daisuki Katamari Damacy Bit of a silly one; rolling up the King of all Cosmos. It was just a terrific combination of a supremely bizzare and yet monumentally triumphant moment. The only thing that would have made it better is if I had done it while playing the American version, so I could have understood the King's probable expressed shock and anger at becoming Katamari fodder. There's more, but these are the ones I feel I can eloquently describe at the moment.

    2006-07 MLB Offseason Thread

I caught a little bit of the show today and all they basically said was that it was a very good signing for the Yankees. They cited his ability to play in New York and his playoff experience as particularly good attributes.
