Holy God that was an incredible interception by Wake Forest.
-
Yeah, he is. Because of that, his salary would be pro-rated, so it's not like the Mets would be paying for a full year and only getting 112 games. Edit: Indians sign Roberto Hernandez. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?sectio...&id=2683620 That's for the best. Mets didn't need Hernandez and the draft picks are always nice.

Guh. Of course I get Bucs/Steelers instead of Giants/Cowboys. Yet another reason to dislike the large amount of Steeler fans in this city.

The Mets offered abritration to Roberto Hernandez and Guillermo Mota, but not to Cliff Floyd, Steve Trachsel, Chris Woodward, and Darren Oliver. I like the offers to Mota and Hernandez, since it's not too big a risk if they accept and the Mets would get three draft picks (two from Hernandez, one from Mota) if they don't. Oliver's the only one I would have offered it to out of those they didn't. Out of arbitration, I seriously doubt he would have gotten much more than a million dollars, which I believe he's worth even though he likely won't come anywhere near last year's performance.

I'm really happy with the Glavine deal, and very interested to see how the rest of the rotation will shape up. Right now, it's looking like... 1. ?/Glavine 2. Glavine/? 3. Hernandez 4. Maine (probably) 5. ? There's no doubt in my mind that the Mets will get one more pitcher via trade or signing, and that he'll either be a No. 1 or 2 starter. What I'm most curious about is that No.5 spot. It might come down to Mike Pelfrey and Oliver Perez fighting over it. I'm not even thinking about Martinez at this point, since I have serious doubts about him ever being an effective starter again.

Oh my God that's awesome. I love the way they're including scenes from Nintendo franchises in their original forms. That Wind Waker game looks really fun in particular.

This flew under the radar somewhat. The Red Sox sign Japanese reliever Hideki Okajima to a two year deal of yet-unknown value. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?sectio...&id=2681266

Well, there you go then. That's pretty embarassing.

That's weird. Over at Kotaku it was just reported that SM64 requires the classic controller. http://kotaku.com/gaming/super-mario-64/wi...ller-218171.php

He's gotta be coming off of the bench. No one's getting paid $1.5 million to start in this market.

Hey, can anyone tell me what happened with Baseball Think Factory? I just tried to visit the site only to find a generic placeholder page instead.

Tonight's episode was pretty cool. I particularly enjoyed Chase becoming House Jr. near the end there.

Also, in most cases, standing in line three hours wasn't a guarantee of getting a Wii.

Bradford and Williamson are officially Os. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?sectio...&id=2679094 It's preliminary, but 3 years/$10.5 million for Bradford? Yeesh. He was great last year, but it's a lot of money to spend on a pitcher that's basically a one-batter or one-inning specialist.

The Niners did it to Montana. It's business, and no one should think of it as anything else. The Packers shouldn't be holding onto him if it keeps them from moving forward. I understand. I don't necessarily agree with how the Packers have handled with the situation, I'm just trying to present their possible reasoning for wanting to stick with Favre for just a little longer.

I can imagine it'd be hard to let go of one of the best ever, especially considering that he's spent virtually all of his lengthy career in Green Bay.
-
Guess I'm not surprised. I just hope this isn't some sort of jab at the Red Sox, trying to undercut the Sox' success at landing Matsuzaka by going after Igawa. As posted above, this guy's potential at best appears to be that of a No. 2 or 3 starter. Maybe the Yankees know something we don't.

There is the matter of Glavine wanting a no-trade clause and Scherholz (sp) not wanting to give him one, but I'd imagine that's the only major roadblock in him being a Brave again. Shame, really. I'd have loved to see him get his 300th win as a Met.

SI reports that the winning bid for Kei Igawa has been accepted by the Hensin Tigers, and is in the area of twenty-five million dollars. The winning team will likely be announced later today. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/base....bid/index.html

Yes, it is. It doesn't even get zip codes right. I entered several Columbus zip codes and got results from all over Ohio and bordering states, but none from Columbus. Anyway, I'm really happy that the Wii's doing well thus far, especially considering the lack of marketing. The free publicity from mainstream outlets such as the Today show must have been a tremendous help.

Yeesh, another awful lineup this week. NYG/DAL and SEA/DEN could be good, as could NYJ/GB. Everything else is pretty blah.
-
They're probably mostly resellers.

Oh cool, we get to watch Bears/Patriots again.

Hasselbeck wasn't quite ready to come back, it seems.

Hey, this might actually be a pretty good game.
