Frank Thomas is the man.

You're misreading that. The graphic says that the Padres won the season series 4-2.
-
And the Packers cough it right back up. What an awful game this has been.
-
Why is Steve McNair being interviewed from the set of Masterpiece Theater? Edit: Two fumbles from the Eagles within the opponent's five yard line. Christ.

All this needs is some kinda shitty fighting title and it'd be the Four Horsemen of the Gaming Apocalypse.
-
Uh, aren't EB and Gamestop owned by the same company? I have no clue why one chain would have kiosks and the other wouldn't.

Golf title. Check it out. http://wii.ign.com/objects/811/811577.html

Disgaea 2 has been distracting me, so I'm not as far in as you guys. I'm on my way to Sei-An City (I think that's what it's called) at the moment. Also, the festival in Kamiki Village after the defeat of was very cool. I love the music that plays in the background during that part.
-
I had forgotten all about that.
-
Ditto. Also, Mike Cameron's pretty cool.

Got the day off Tuesday as well. It's hard for me to pick a team to cheer for in this series, as I like both squads very much. I do think the Twins are going to take it, though.
-
Hopefully, the Mets' poor performance against Kuo was due to having never seen him before. Lowe and Maddux are fine pitchers, but honestly, any halfway decent lefty is of more concern to me right now than any right-hander. Also, I heard that Penny might be coming out of the bullpen for this series.
-
I am looking forward to Glavine/Maddux, and the series in general should be very, very good. Mets in four.
-
Man, the Bears are really good.

Finding John McCain's flight suit in the Hanoi Hilton? Now that's a cool challenge.

Holy shit, Detroit lost. Way to go, Minnesota.

*buries head in hands* For Christ's sake, this couldn't have waited a few weeks? I was just starting to enjoy baseball without steroid discussions of any kind, and now this comes along to cast a shadow over the entire playoffs, especially if the Astros make it in. Damn it.
-
It's been a while since the Mets beat an opponent senseless, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The best part (even better than Franco's big night) was Glavine's terrific start (6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K). I'm really not concerned about the Mets' starting pitching going into the postseason; as King said, no one team's rotation is particularly dominant or even remarkable, and no other team on the NL side of the playoffs can boast the lineup or the bullpen the Mets possess. The AL side's another story entirely, but I'll worry about that when and if they get that far.

Vince Young was pretty exciting during the Jets game...until he threw a terrible pass that got picked off. Still, for about five plays, he was worlds better than Kerry Collins. Amazingly enough, I'm getting the Jets locally this week. My excitement is tempered somewhat by the fact that they're playing the Colts, but still, pretty cool.

Figures, I miss the first inning of the Mets game and fail to witness Abuelo Franco's three-run homer in the process. It woulda been nice to see him hit a homer besides the one he snuck over the wall that juts into right field in PETCO Park. Ah well, got to see the two-RBI double he just hit at least. Edit: Now the Mets got their bats working. A three-run Shawn Green homer makes it 9-0 in the fourth.
-
Guh. I just realized that none of the Mets' starting rotation, or even possible starters (Glavine, Trachsel, Hernandez, Maine, Williams, Perez) are signed through 2007 besides Martinez and Mike Pelfrey. Only Glavine even has an option. Forget about Pedro; they're going to have to pay to replenish the entire rotation. Edit: Saw this on the Reds homepage... "While the Reds can no longer look towards the postseason, right-hander Bronson Arroyo will start against the Pirates on Saturday with something to play for after all. With the Cardinals' win this afternoon, Cincinnati was eliminated from the NL Central race. But the left-hander can still ensure a .500 season with a win." That's a pretty embarassing mistake, especially since there's a picture right above this description depicting Arroyo clearly pitching with his right hand.
-
I realize. But hey, Cincinnati's only possibly going to be alive for a couple more days. I can afford to be unrealistically optimistic for that long. Edit: As if on cue, a Corey Hart homer cuts the Cards' lead to five.
-
Reds win, Astros lose. This would be ideal if Milwaukee would beat St. Louis, which is looking less and less likely by the second.
-
C'mon, Milwaukee. Don't let this (probable) Reds win go to waste.
-
That works out nicely. By the time they get the field ready and play the game, Philadelphia should be able to catch an early flight to Miami and be at Pro Player by noon.
