Well, I'm not a Phillies fan, but I imagine most of the responses from them would be about Charlie Manuel and how he sucks.

How's Jump Superstars? It looks pretty fun, but I'm not sure if I wanna plunk down the $50+ for it. I have heard excellent things about Ouendan, though, and am definitely going to get that once I have a little spending money. Daigaso! Band Brothers is a terrific music game, almost as good as a Bemani console release. It's a hell of a lot better than a Bemani handheld, anyway. http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-9g-49-...ers-70-d7p.html

To be honest, I think Nintendo simply disregarded English terminolgy in selecting this name. I doubt Wii has anything sort of negative meaning in the Japanese language, so the Big N must have decided that the name was good enough for the rest of the world, too. Maybe this is Nintendo's attempt at relieving itself of American console sales once and for all. Oh well, I'll still buy one.

"We", "Whee", "Oui"...take your pick.

In regards to Death Note, the latest chapter (107) appears to be the last or the second to last. So, if anyone is looking to get into it, now you can take your time and don't have to really fear falling behind that much anymore.

G Gundam was always good for some stupid big robot fighting fun. Sai Sachi and his Gundam stood head and shoulders above everyone else's in terms of sheer coolness.

It's not really necessary to mention Bonds' home run, since the clip of him hitting it will be played approximately seventeen thousand times over the next few days. Despite the nonsense in the bottom of the ninth, I really enjoyed the Mets game today and am very happy that they took two out of three in San Fransisco. Endy Chavez with a multi-hit game? That's always a good sign. Hoping that Bannister's injury isn't too serious, though. The bullpen's been stretched kinda thin lately as it is; taking Heilman out of it to be a fifth starter wouldn't help matters any. Road trip's been good so far. Now, if the Mets can just win a couple games in Atlanta, they'll be set.

I'm not that big of a Gundam fan, but Wing is easily my favorite.

The commercials don't bother me, but I usually can't watch anime on TV because most English dubbing is horrendous. I can count the good TV anime dubs I've heard on one hand.

Death Note's extremely good. If you can't afford to buy it right now, you can go and register over at townl.com and read the fan-made scanlations. I'd definitely reccommend giving it a try.

I'm a pretty big fan of both the Naruto anime and manga, though I've also lost interest in the anime somewhat since the fillers started. Thankfully, the episode released today should be the last filler episode for a while. Meanwhile, the manga keeps chugging along, as entertaining, intriguing chapters come out week after week. The arc they've got going now is particularly good, and I can't wait to see how it ends. However, my absolute favorite manga are Yakitate!! Japan and Eyeshield21. The former's a shounen adventure comedy sort of thing featuring Azuma Kazuma, a teenage boy with "Solar Hands" and his desire to create "Japan", the bread that will define his home country. It's really very funny (if you're a fan of puns like I am, anyway) and strangely compelling. Eyeshield21, on the other hand, is about a wimpy kid named Sena Kobayakawa. He had been a gofer for bullies all his life and has unintentionally attained amazing speed because of it. The devilish quarterback of his high school's American Football team notices his speed and recruits him for the squad. This series features terrific, very well drawn action, plenty of comedy, and a bit of drama every once in a while for good measure. The other manga I read on a regular basis are... - Beck - 666Satan - Death Note - One Piece Yep...I can be pretty obsessed with this stuff at times.

After an agonizingly long at-bat, Floyd belts a two-run shot into the bay. 4-1 Mets.

Booo. Bonds just hit number 710. I'm just glad I'm watching this game without sound, is all I'll say.

That rubber chicken bit the Giants fans have going is really fucking obnoxious.

It appears as though the Mysterious Dungeon game featuring Yangus from DQVIII isn't coming stateside, which is a real shame since it looks like a really, really fun title. Does anyone here have any experience with any of the previous Mysterious Dungeon games? I'd consider importing it if the gameplay was pretty straightforward; otherwise, my nearly non-existant knowledge of Japanese would be a fairly big roadblock.

I was just sitting there shaking my head during his whole ridiculous spiel. He actually had the nerve to say a few innings later that he stood by his comments and that anyone offended should get a sense of humor.

... Michael Michaels?

I wish the SNY announcers would stop telling me to "watch Reyes' fanny". Edit: Also, Keith Hernandez is apparently shocked, shocked, that there's a woman in the Padres' dugout. That coupled with statements like "I'm not saying she belongs in the kitchen, but she shouldn't be in the dugout!" are almost making me wish this game was on ESPN so I could listen to one of their terrible commentating teams instead.

Castro and Nady with back-to-back homers. 2-0 Mets. Nady just crushed the ball, about 420 feet or so.
-
Padres going with their ridiculously ugly camouflage uniforms tonight, I see.

Well, here are the numbers for last year... http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:paIg5t...us&ct=clnk&cd=2 First and second with no outs is a decidedly better position to be in.

Grandpa Julio saves the day! Two-run pinch-hit HR in the top of the 8th gives the Mets a 3-2 lead.
-
Kazuo FUCKING Matsui! Inside the park home run with his first at bat. Third year in a row he's used his first at bat of the season to hit a HR.

So, I'm pretty fed up with my current profession. It's a food service job with lousy hours and even lousier pay. I'm thinking about going to one of the Temp Worker facilities in the city and putting in an application for clerical work. Admittedly, I only have a couple months experience working in an office, but since I can type pretty well (60-70 WPM depending on the circumstances), I figure I could at least get some typing/light filing work. To be honest, what's stopping me from putting an application in is my lack of knowledge in the whole process. I know I get to pick what days I wanna work, whether I can accept same-day assignments, and stuff like that, but I'm completely clueless on everything else. Can I request time off whenever I want? How many hours can I expect (keep in mind that I basically want to work as much as possible)? What sort of wages can I earn? These are questions I'd ask an employee of the Temp facility, but the e-mail I sent went unanswered and they were closed today, so...any thoughts?

Thanks for the advice. You too, Leena. And honestly, the only reason the time off thing is even an issue is because there's a five day span in the beginning of July in which I absolutely cannot work. Besides that, I want to rack up as many hours as possible.
