Anyone interested in a TSM Online Poker Tourney?

Play money. I'm fairly broke for the forseeable future.

    Chad Pennington may miss season

If your team's kicker lost a divisional playoff game twice in the course of a minute, you'd want your team to draft a new one too.

Hm. When does that go up again?

    WCW Observer Quotes

Nope, sorry. They're Jeffery Culver (on the left) and Tom Bartlett from the cinematic classic Hobgoblins.

WHAT That's the most insane wrestling-related thing I've ever read, and that's saying a LOT.

    This Week in Baseball

I was trying to be respectful as possible while enjoying the Mets' wins. Edit: Okay then.

    This Week in Baseball

Yeah, but you could say the same for half the Major Leagues, so it's not that big a deal. Seriously, I'm glad to see the Brewers playing well this year. God knows it's rare to see a small-market team (outside of the Athletics) succeed on any level, so this season from Milwaukee is promising to say the least.

Mets win their fifth in a row. I'm glad to see they're at least trying to make something out of this season and end the year on a high note. Heartbreaker in Cleveland tonight. Indians came this close to tying in the bottom of the ninth but fell just short. Still two back...

    All Things Katamari Thread

I actually like WLK's OST a good deal more than KD's, but opinion seems to be pretty split on that subject. Anyway, I imported this about three months ago (because I had already waited long enough for a Katamari sequel, damn it) and still play it virually every day. It's got so much more replay value than KD it's ridiculous. The elephant level (I've managed to get 3400m ) is about the most fun eighteen minutes in gaming history.
  11. Neptune Men is actually one of my favorite episodes because of that reason. Crow: So does anyone have any songs about stock footage to get us through this? Tom: Oh I know one, goes like this: Dut-dut-dut-dut-dut-dut.....EAT IT MOVIE!! Take this stupid cockroach of a film, roll it up SOOOOOO tight, and then ram it up your *blubbers* Mike: Ok, take it easy. Crow: You see what you've done to Servo, movie? END! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh, it's a fantastic episode. It's just that it's hard for the unexperienced to sit through on the first viewing, as Andrew said. "Stop zooming in on me! I have no emotions to show you!" -------------------------------- "Get the cane." -------------------------------- "Oh, my spaceship? When we bought it, it was OUR spaceship." -------------------------------- "Thank you for sewing my hand to the tent!" -------------------------------- "Hooray! A dot is moving away from a semi-circle! Hooray!"

Man, it's nice to not have Looper closing anymore.

I realize. But SD's rotation outside of Peavy is fairly pathetic, and tonight was their best chance of stopping a sweep and killing the Giants' momentum. As it is, the Padres continue to flounder while the Giants' chances look better every day.

Goddamn. Giants beat Peavy and the Padres. San Diego might be in trouble.

Doesn't mean he was a particularly good pitcher before this year. His record was 14-22 and he had a combined ERA of 4.74 over the past two years. Seo pitching as well as he has this year is a pleasant surprise to say the least.

    This Week in Baseball

Hey, Seo's been surprisingly good this year. Ishii IS a black hole of suck, though. I'll grant you that.

Sure, but it's hard to imagine him approaching anything resembling his former self after two shoulder surgeries.

And I thought the Jets were in a shitty situation yesterday. This is downright crippling. Six wins, if that.

    NFL Week 3

If this is true...fuck. I wouldn't really mind that much under usual circumstances, but since Fiedler is injured also, that means Brooks fucking Bollinger would be starting for the next few weeks. It's already confirmed that he's starting against the Ravens. Gahhhhhh.

Actually, we couldn't, 'cause that means they'd have to play 175 games.

Musta missed that, sorry. He's a bust. Don't get me wrong, I think that he'll get better over the years and that this season is the worst he'll have with the Mets. But there's no way in hell he's worth $17 million a year. With that kind of money, Minaya could have signed both a CF and a 2B (a position that produced neither defensively or offensively throughout the year). Hell, even if they had thrown it at Carlos Delgado it would have been a better investment.
  22. I know. I was disappointed to see that neither Cowboy Bebop or Samurai Champloo made either list. What might have worked against them is the fact that they're only 26 episodes apeice; the majority of the series on the lists are much longer.

    This Week in Baseball

Mets have a chance to finish the season with their heads held high if nothing else. With a three-game series against the Phillies, who they've been pretty good against this year, and a four-game homestand against the Rockies, the Mets' chance of finishing the year with a winning record (which is in itself a vast improvement over last year) is pretty good. There's lots of AL Series I'll be keeping my eye on this week. I still think the Indians have a decent shot at winning the Central; they just gotta play well against the D'Rays and hope Detroit can take at least one from Chicago.
  24. Neptune Men makes Prince look like Kurosawa by comparison. You're right, it's one of those movies that's just so insanely dull and boring (see: Red Zone Cuba, Beast of Yucca Flats) that even the MST3K version can be hard to sit through at times. It's worth the pain and suffering, though, 'cause the episode's extremely funny. Constant ripping on the kids' voices, Roji-Panty Complex, The Hitler Building...I still laugh uncontrollably at "Why did I buy a ride for my living room?"
  25. God, I'd forgotten how many great jokes Track of the Moon Beast has. "Wake up!" "It's Pink Day!" "C'mon, wake up!" "There's another meteor headed for your skull!" ------------------------------------------ "She gets off the ground saying 'What happened?' a LOT." ------------------------------------------ "California graaaaaaaaaaaaavy! Add flavor to my meat!" ------------------------------------------ "What up, bitch?" ------------------------------------------ "We usually don't discuss X-Rays with patients, but yours is an unusual case." "We'll let you in on your illness THIS TIME."
