There are 2 OHL teams within an hour of here (Ottawa and Kingston), but I've never been to one of their games. The arena in Kingston is supposed to be a dump, but they're building a new one soon, I think, so I might check that out some time. I did go to the OHL All-Star game in Peterborough a few years ago, though, I still have the program around somewhere, too. The arena in Shawinigan looks like my high school.

Who has a picture of their Grandma's cousin beside their couch?

No. And I was just playing around a bit on my brother's copy (he has the Gamecube version, I have the Wii), it is confusing as hell. Just simple stuff like drawing your sword, you get so used to just have to shake the remote that pressing a button to do it seems strange.

Women died from over consumption of water
treble replied to milliondollarchamp's topic in Current Events
O&A really aren't making fun of the woman who died, just the radio guys. They've been ripping on them all week. -
The graphics are higher than 'Super Nintendo level', I still haven't tried it since I got my component cables, but they looked pretty nice. Some reviews I've read say it's the best looking game on the Wii, so far. The cutscenes are kind of lame, I'll agree with you there. I had the same problem with the controls at first, too, but I think I must have had the stick pushed one way to mess up the default.

Awesome. Agreed with whoever said that about Palmer's sister, I rolled my eyes at that, but the rest was great. Kumar as a terrorist is pretty funny, but I think I might have trouble believing Shaun Majumder as a terrorist, after seeing his shitty comedy for so long.

For me, at least, 'feels like' = temperature with the windchill. But I'm the same as you, anyway. Cold is cold.

I'll be back.

Just for reference. I like to think that I'm generally smart with my money. I don't make too many impulse purchases aside from the occasional pack of gum, but for some reason, I can't contain myself when it comes to DVDs. If there's something that I think I might like or have heard is good and I see it for under $10, I usually buy it. Just off the top of my head, looking through my collection, there are about 20 movies that I own that I haven't watched yet. Most of these were bought at a discount price that I probably wouldn't have thought of buying at their full cost, but still, it starts to add up after a while. Even being modest, at $10 a pop, that's $200 gone from my wallet that probably could be better spent on something else. I like to blame my short attention span or the fact that I can be easily distracted on why I don't get around to watching these sooner or later (hell, I've got at least 3 or 4 more movies taking up space on my DVR that are probably just as likely to get deleted as they are to be watched by me anytime soon), God knows I have enough time to watch a movie or 2 a week, but it's still perplexing to me as to why I keep buying them. I'm running out of room to store them all. I know renting is an option, that seems like just as much of a waste of money, as it's likely that I'll never get around to watching them before I return them. I like the idea of owning them, though, in case I want to go back and watch them again. Which I guess is dumb since I hardly ever get around to watching them in the first place.

1/11: Inflated Salaries, Inflated Foreheads

Is it just me, or is it cold in here? -
Dammit. I can detach myself from it somewhat, so long as he doesn't end up jumping on Oprah's coach.

I stick mine in the freezer and just toast it. On this subject, just a few hours ago, my roommate decided he wanted some toast with his dinner. I was in the living room watching TV and he was getting stuff ready and said he was going to have a shower before he ate. I went into the kitchen a minute or so later and he had taken the bag, and rather than just open it like a normal, sane person would, had just ripped the bag open in the middle and left it on the counter. What the fuck is your thought process during this, is it too fucking hard to open a bag of bread normally?

This episode was really good. And really, Ethan Suplee needs some love come Emmy time.
-
The Ryan/Stanley stuff was great, too. From Ryan's reaction once he saw all the guys were black to in the car after. 'You sounded like me niece! And she's 6 months old!'

'Beeswax. None your your's, inc.'

He got in the face with a puck, I think. He's ok, though, just busted his lip, I guess.
-
They just picked him up because he's cheap and he's not hurt (yet).

The Leafs picked Travis Green off of waivers from the Ducks. Don Cherry's going to love this.
-
No, I was probably in the store for about 20 minutes, though, and didn't really see anyone asking anyone to open the case for them to get one out.

First time since launch that I've seen any Wiis on the shelf. Wal-Mart here had at least 3 left.

http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/B09160TOR1989.htm -I think this might have been my first game. Don't remember a thing about it, really, just that we had good seats (I think it was 18 rows behind home) and that I remember Pat Borders replacing Ernie Whitt at some point as the catcher. http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/B08150MON1992.htm -I remember sitting in the first row of the upper deck behind home plate for this one. Don't remember much about the game, just my dad telling me later that Andres Galaragga hit a grand slam for the Cardinals, so that's how I looked it up. http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/B09010MON1997.htm -Biggest memory from this one is Butch Henry and Mo Vaughn colliding in the infield and it ending up in the plays of the week on This Week in Baseball. http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/B06280MON1998.htm -This is when they took the roof off of the Big O for most of the season in order to put on the new one, so it was the first game I saw that was actually played outside. Vlad Guerrero hit probably the longest home run I've seen in person pretty deep into the seats in left field, Palmeiro hit a homer pretty close to me, too. Also, got to see Ripken play during his streak. http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/B06100TOR2000.htm -Only Expos/Jays game I saw. Guerrero hit another pretty big homer, again, but this wasn't a good game at all. Tony Batista hit a HR into the Jays bullpen as we were leaving in the bottom of the 9th. http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/B07300MON2000.htm -Wanted to see Griffey play, but he went 0-4. http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/B07260MON2003.htm -Last Expos game I went to. An Expos pitcher almost got hit in the face on a comebacker, but took it in the hand instead. I was kinda mad I missed seeing Maddux pitch by a day. http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/B05090TOR2004.htm -Frank Catalonotto hit his only homer of the year in this game. I liked seeing Esteban Loaiza pitch a CG and still lose, too. http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/B06230TOR2006.htm -Delgado's first game back in Toronto. I was a little mad that I missed out on Roy Halladay pitching by a day, but I got to see a HOFer in Glavine pitch, so that was nice. Wasn't really close at all and Lastings Milledge hit a homerun and I didn't even get a high-five.

Finally added everyone I was missing (a lot of you), so I shouldn't be in grey anymore on your list if you added me.

There were only 5 episodes in 2006. S.O.B.s and the four episodes on the finale night. I always thought that the 2nd to last episode, Exit Strategy, was great in the way it wrapped everything up. Development Arrested almost seems tacked on in how it's the same style as the premiere and in the way it's revealed that .

The deleted scenes for that episode are great. 'Do they have a Johnny Carson in your land?' 'Pittsburgh?'
