A week late...but still
TheBostonStrangler replied to HollywoodSpikeJenkins's topic in Community/General
Muzz, you must have been there in 2000. Fall of 2001 was when I was in the JL, and you and Axis were grizzled vets by the time I had joined. -
The Austin/HHH vs. Jericho/Benoit match had some changes, notably the faces cheating as much as the heels. It definitely gave the match a different feel.

A week late...but still
TheBostonStrangler replied to HollywoodSpikeJenkins's topic in Community/General
I joined in June 2001, so I think my 4-year anniversay was sometime a couple weeks ago. Go me. First match: A gigantic triple-threat matchup against Bo "The Body" Lewis and Seven. Neither of whom showed. Ever. Biggest moment: There are a few different choices. I did a few different things: I was the second person to hold the IGNJL World and European Titles at the same time (and the only person to win the Euro AFTER the World), the first person to leave the Clan two times, my feud with Erek Taylor, and winning the World Title. However, I'd go with a tag match: Me and Stryke (members of the original M7 at the time) against Spider Nekura and Thoth during a Clan revival. We were heavy 'dogs, but we won, and it was the match that established me as an upper-card type of wrestler. Great moment for me. Favorite OOC moment: I dunno, really. I guess serving as JLCC head and a WFCC member would be mine, since it was a lot of work. -
So I spent 15 hours floating in the Pacific Ocean
TheBostonStrangler posted a topic in Community/General
Rescued After 15 Hours I'm in California now before I fly back to Boston tomorrow. However, I'm gonna be on CNN tomorrow morning on their early show at some point. I'm gonna milk those 15 minutes of fame for all they're worth, baby. And no, I will NOT plug the SWF on CNN. -

Of course, neither did you. Put in the two minutes of work and make the joke yourself, you land-loving bastard. -

What can I say, Spike? I'm a smooth operator, baby. -

The show runs from 7 AM - 10 AM EST. I think I'll be on in the tail end of the program, around 9:30 AM EST or so. I'm on the West Coast right now, and I'm taping the interview before the show starts, so I'll be doing the interview around 3:30 AM PST, which should be a nice strain on my sleep-deprived system. And Johnny, I actually thought about those damn Lost At Sea matches I booked when I was stuck out there. Fitting that it would happen to me, huh? -
Romney Strikes Back: Gay marriage ban
TheBostonStrangler replied to Jobber of the Week's topic in Current Events
Romney is a Mormon, so his religious beliefs would come into play here. Overall, he's a real douchebag. He's intelligent enough, but I disagree with the majority of his opinions. He's drawn an extremely hard line on our budget which has forced cutbacks in a number of municipal programs, he's increased high-stakes testing, he's butchered the English as a Second Language program in the state, and his stance on gay marriage is mired in the dark ages. -

MAIN EVENT 30-MINUTE IRON MAN MATCH Wildchild v. "The Critic" Scott Pretzler ~ WC to get da W (because he has a W in his name, and Pretzler does not. Now if they were looking to pick up the zeitgeist, Pretzler would be in luck). SWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Ejiro Fasaki (SWF World Heavyweight Champion) v. Lil' Buck ~ I'll take my boy Fasaki. Buck is a quality opponent and all, but Fasaki just looks so damn sexy with that belt around his waist. GRUDGE MATCH Danny Williams v. "The Franchise" Mak Francis ~ Ooo...I have absolutely no idea. Should be a great matchup....I'll take Mak by a hair. LAST MAN STANDING Toxxic v. "Hollywood" Spike Jenkins ~ Last Man Standing? Nice stip that's a TON of fun to write. I guess I'll take Toxxic, since he's been OK since he debuted. SWF INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP LET MY PEOPLE GO! MATCH Arch Griffon (SWF International Champion) v. "The Dean of Professional Wrestling" Jay Hawke ~ Organs are very cool. I'll take Griffon to win this in a match that surprises a lot of people. SWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS Martial Law ("Urban Legend" Todd Cortez and Landon "La Cucaracha" Maddix, SWF Tag Team Champions) v. THE MYSTERIOUS ARMY (??? and ???) ~ The MYsterious Army sucks as a name, so I'll take the champs. It pains me to pick against the glorious ???. though. SWF HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP STAINED GLASS WINDOW PAIN MATCH Insane Luchadore (SWF Hardcore Champion) v. Manson v. "The Maniac" Bryan Rodgers v. Zyon ~ I have never heard of Zyon before this prediction contest, so he's out. I don't like people who spell Bryan with a y, so he's out. Now, we have the Luchadore and Manson....tough, tough call. I'll pick IL to retain, but in a close one.

I always read these. They're my best source of SWF information, dark matches, and riboflavin! -
Fallout = best tag partner I ever had. I never would have amounted to anything in the SWF if it wasn't for him...well, that and convincing people to give me big pushes every time I returned. And good to see ya, Mags.

Post what your local Rock station is playing
TheBostonStrangler replied to UZI Suicide's topic in Music
WBCN - 104.1 FM, Boston (BTW, WAAF is NOT a Boston station. That thing's an hour out of town in Worcester. WBCN and WFNX are the Boston-area stations. I live in Cambridge, and I can barely get WAAF until I drive another 15 miles to the west). 1) Beck - E-Pro 2) Nine Inch Nails - The Hand That Feeds 3) U2 - City of Blinding Lights 4) Weezer - Beverly Hills 5) Green Day - Holiday 6) Kings of Leon - Molly's Chambers 7) The Exies - Ugly 8) Green Day - Boulevard of Broken Dreams 9) Velvet Revolver - Dirty Little Thing 10) Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out 11) Dropkick Murphys - It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock and Roll) 12) Papa Roach - Getting Away With Murder 13) Green Day - American Idiot 14) U2 - Vertigo 15) Foo Fighters - Best of You 16) White Stripes - Blue Orchid 17) Stereophonics - Dakota 18) Kings of Leon - The Bucket 19) Velvet Revolver - Fall To Pieces 20) Billy Corgan - Mina Loy (M.O.H.) 21) Oasis - Lyla 22) Dropkick Murphys - Sunshine Highway 23) Audioslave - Your Time Has Come 24) Garbage - Bad Boyfriend 25) Weezer - We Are All On Drugs 26) No Address - When I'm Gone (Sadie) 27) 22-20's - Devil In Me 28) Seether - Remedy 29) Staind - Right Here 30) Beck - Girl This is their most requested, as opposed to their most-played. Some of these I never heard on the air (American Idiot, Molly's Chambers, and Vertigo come to mind). They are playing the hell out of the other two Green Day songs, City of Blinding Lights (U2 just did three shows here, and BCN pimped them for two months), both Dropkicks songs, Girl by Beck (but not E-Pro), and Audioslave. -
Munchie winning gold. Yeah baby! Toxxic, that promo was one of the most bizarre things I've ever read. Nicely done. I can see why Raynor is so proud of it.
