I hate to hear it, but yeah, I like hearing about the guys living a full life instead of dying so young like what we've seen so much in the past few years. I also hate that most current fans don't even know who Crusher is. He is one of my all time favorite characters from way back when. RIP Crusher Lisowski, it's time for a Crusher and Bruiser reunion in wrestling Heaven!

BREAKING NEWS - KEVIN NASH IN HOSPITAL IN ORLANDO
Downhome replied to Jebus's topic in TNA Wrestling
Well that sure is an interesting group. I hate seeing Zybysko in a role of power, it just doesn't work for me. He would be far better as just an interviewer, a manager, or something else like that. He's just not convincing to me at all. Maybe it'll grow on me, but I'm not into it so far. -
BREAKING NEWS - KEVIN NASH IN HOSPITAL IN ORLANDO

If their two "big" matches are Raven/Jarrett III and Monty/Jarrett, couldn't they afford to offer one of the two tonight? I assume it would be Raven though. -
BREAKING NEWS - KEVIN NASH IN HOSPITAL IN ORLANDO
Downhome replied to Jebus's topic in TNA Wrestling
This may be a stupid question, but who is the head booker(s) in TNA? -
I don't know what the hell is going on hardly, and I'm excited (yes, I have ordered the PPV). I'll also ask this here, since I can't find where I asked it before: Is there anything I should know about any of the feuds or anything that would make everything mean that much more to me? I haven't watched TNA in a very long time, so all that I really have to go on is what I've seen on Impact on Spike TV. I know you guys hate JJ, but since I hate WWE's world title situations so much right now, the NWA world title already seems more important to me. I like JJ as a world champ way more than Cena or Batista right now. Then again, like I've always said, I'm a huge WCW mark, even for their bad times. That's why I think TNA is clicking with me, their shows have reminded me of WCW in more than a few ways.
-
The women's division as a whole doesn't make a lick of sense. I think this fits right in with everything else.
-
I'll be watching the show, but only by downloading it for free. Since this show is on a Tuesday, there will be plenty of time for me to download it and watch it before the next RAW.
-
Is there anything else that I should know going into this show, that would make any of the matches mean more to me? I haven't kept up with TNA in a very long time, so all that I really know so far is what we've seen on Impact on Spike TV for the past few weeks.

Who gives a shit if we get to see her half naked? That alone makes 28 sense.

Well, accoriding to the Torch it looks like we're dealing with "cardiac problems" here. -
BREAKING NEWS - KEVIN NASH IN HOSPITAL IN ORLANDO
Downhome replied to Jebus's topic in TNA Wrestling
Ok, maybe not the main event, but if they don't have JJ wrestle someone and they just have a segment with him putting down Nash, it wouldn't surprise me for them to have the "funeral" at some point during the show. -
Ok, sounds good to me. I'm so used to PPVs biting me in the ass though, God knows it's happened a ton of times to me since 1993. I've never even seen a complete Samoa Joe match, other than the squash we saw on Impact tonight. I was thinking about downloading a few and checking them out before the PPV, but I think I'm going to go into that one totally blind, and hopefully I'll be even more blown away. I love Liger, so if Joe is everything I hear from everyone, it could be a classic.

Yep, the main event will now be the "funeral" of Kevin Nash. -

If this is true, I seriously hope that Nash will be ok. He's one of those guys who I just can't hate no matter how much I should. This goes right along with what I posted in the other thread though: "With any luck though, the main event will get switched up somehow, just like we saw in WCW every now and then (Booker T winning his first world title for example)." -
The main reason that I'm getting disgusted with it right now, is because of the two world champs. Neither one of them feel like true champions to me, and that's just set me back. I know there are a million other reasons, and there are plenty of other reasons, but that's the main thing for me. Don't worry though, I'll continue to watch just like always, they just wont get as much of my money for now. I think I'll dive into this BFG PPV, since hopefully they'll let everyone really go at it since this is the first PPV since they hit Spike TV. This show, in a way, feels like it could be a very good PPV in the same way that WCW some times had really good PPVs. A possible horrible main event (heck, this WAS a WCW main event), with a fantastic undercard. With any luck though, the main event will get switched up somehow, just like we saw in WCW every now and then (Booker T winning his first world title for example).

Would you guys say that this would be the perfect show for someone like me, who has never bought a TNA PPV before, to order to check out? I've just about been pushed over the edge for this one. I haven't ordered the last two or three WWE PPVs, and I'm not ordering Taboo Tuesday.

I just want to comment on the Hollywood Reporter review. Like most reviews, it may contain small spoilers to be careful: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr/revie...t_id=1001349216 It actually sounds pretty positive, but this is what got me from the review: I loved the first movie, and I'd be willing to bet I'm going to love the second. Here is another review from Variety: http://www.variety.com/review/VE1117928622...egoryid=31&cs=1 I bought the new Saw DVD at Best Buy tonight (free ticket to see Saw 2), and I'm sitting here with the movie on in the background, and I still think it's a fine horror flick. Also, since when I first saw Saw I hadn't watched The Shield, seeing Benito Martinez (David Aceveda) shocked me, pretty cool.

The only downside I see to that, is when they eventually grow and they do move to a more WWE-like model with one, or more, two hour shows a week. It's not a problem, just something that will call for a short transistion period down the line. That is, if they make it that far, which I think they will.
-
I've always thought that was the right way to go with wrestling PPVs, and it's the way that it used to be done, once upon a time. That doesn't mean the rest of the show should be or could be trash, it just means that as much time shouldn't be spent on them.
-
I'm seriously thinking about giving TNA my $30 for this month, instead of WWE (then again, I haven't even thought about ordering the last three WWE PPVs, and I'm NOT ordering Taboo Tuesday). This BFG card seriously sounds flat out fantastic.
-
Has he actually done anything bad in the past, or are they just worried that he will? Also, how in the hell have they stretched this angle out for so long? Have they done it just so it can climax on this TV show where more fans would be watching?

Why does Konnan and Truth hate Kip James?
-
About Joe/Skipper, I know it was a squash to make Joe look awesome, but I dunno, I just wasn't feeling it at all. Maybe it's because I was a huge Skipper fan back in WCW, I don't know. I do like Joe though, and he is indeed a monster. So Ultimate X on Spike TV soon? I wonder if they'll have that on the two hour special.
-
Ok, I didn't really have a problem with that tag team match at all, even with the overbooked finish.
-
I wasn't "feeling" that first match. That match should have been a lot better than what we just saw.
