Whatever it is, I'm sure that no one here will like it. -
Yeah, I forgot to mention how Khali was really playing to the crowd all throughout that match with Cena last night.

Goldust will be back in WWE again, just give it time. -
From WWE.com: ...i.e., RVD will be kept off of TV until his contract runs out or until he signs a new WWE contract.

I'm shocked that Khali has improved as much as he has. When he first showed up, I didn't think he could do anything at all, not even fit the mold of the huge monster worker. Now though, you can really tell that the guy really tries out there. He actually looks like an imposing force, he's got the "fall back and get trapped in the ropes" bit down, and just overall I think he's really improved both his offense and defense. Heck, who here would have imagined him taking the FU bump like he did tonight a number of months ago? Maybe by working with HBK and Cena has really helped him, I don't know, but I don't think it's fair to totally and completely bash the guy like we all did when he first showed up. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's a great worker or anything crazy like that. I simply think that he's doing a fine job in his spot, that's all. He's grown into his role very well.

Yep, this is a really great flick. I really can't wait for Superbad even that much more now - and speaking of Superbad and Knocked Up, check this out: http://www.funnyordie.com/v1/view_video.ph...61c7c98800678fa That David O Russell spoof is fantastic.

WWE General Discussion for June 2007
Downhome replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
Well played. What's up with WWE's horrible promos this week? First Vince/Lashley on ECW, and now Batista/Edge on SD. The Batista/Edge deal just now was horrible, it was like two ten year olds complaining. -
"The only thing that can stop him is an injury." - JBL, talking about Edge Come on JBL, don't say things like that on SD!

Downhome replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
I just want to point out, again, the purpose of this thread: Feel free to create new threads as long as the topic is at least halfway meaningful. We're going to pull back on being so strict about which topics deserve an entire thread or not. As long as we don't see a million threads about, say, John Cena saw Ron Killings in an airport and they looked at one another, everything should be fine. That's the sort of stuff that belongs in these monthly threads. -
Here is the video of Sandman's entrance from the event that the alleged incident took place. The woman charges that "while bleeding from a self-imposed wound to his head, grabbed her, picked her up, and threw her, not only injuring her back and aggravating pre-existing injuries, but also exposing her to blood and humiliating her."

The Planet Earth set is fantastic. Check out the rating for the program on IMDB.

So Farrelly Brothers got back together

The Trailer -
This sale means next to nothing to me anymore, and I used to be one of the main people to mention this sale. Many prices at DD are no longer the lowest price, and over the past sale or two they've started to actually raise the price on many of their items to make up for the 20% off. With the way the prices for DVDs have gone down, how you can almost always find a great deal, coupon, or sale these days, the DD sale just doesn't mean what it used to. Now don't get me wrong, there are still deals to be had. It's just not that crazy deal it used to be.

The new AFI Top 100, coming June 20th on CBS
Downhome replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
I did a search for TGD but didn't see it pop up, but I guess it's because of the way it's typed out. -
The screenplay for Journey of Death (HHH's WWE flick) is online if any of you want to read it.

Two more that I believe should be added are Chaplin's The Great Dictator and The Shawshank Redemption. While TGD isn't even on the nominated list, TSR was and I think that enough time has gone by for it to be recognized on this list. TSR has aged so well, and as time goes by it seems like more and more people view it as an American classic. -

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but that's the official list, not something that I put together just for the hell of it. Since the entire top 100 is up for grabs, it's likely that the new top 100 list will look quite different this time around. It'll be interesting to see how things change ten years later. Here are a few more of the other films nominated this time around that didn't make the cut last time: -A Christmas Story -Groundhog Day -Halloween -Hoosiers -The King of Comedy And of those, Groundhog Day should be on the list in my opinion. -

Now that I think about it I'd say that the only reason that Léon isn't already on the list is because of the French ties, even though it's in English. -

If you ask me, it's a better film in every way. Then again, it's my favorite film so I might be a bit biased. If it was up to me Léon (The Professional) would be added to the AFI Top 100 as well. -

Well ESotSM damn well better make it. It would be a damn shame if BJM made it and not ESotSM. And yeah, I could see Modern Times being removed from the list since there's two other Chaplin flicks on the list, and this one is pretty far down at the bottom at #81. -

On Wikipedia it says that films are judged by the following criteria: 1. Feature-length: Narrative format typically over 60 minutes in length. 2. American film: English language, with significant creative and/or financial production elements from the United States. 3. Critical Recognition: Formal commendation in print. 4. Major Award Winner: Recognition from competitive events including awards from organizations in the film community and major film festivals. 5. Popularity Over Time: Including figures for box office adjusted for inflation, television broadcasts and syndication, and home video sales and rentals. 6. Historical Significance: A film's mark on the history of the moving image through technical innovation, visionary narrative devices or other groundbreaking achievements. 7. Cultural Impact: A film's mark on American society in matters of style and substance. Yeah, I know, Wikipedia, but there ya go. Because of the "Cultural Impact", I'd say that The Matrix is a given to make the list, as well as either Finding Nemo or Shrek. -
Ok, the new AFI Top 100 list will be revealed on June 20th on CBS. Which films from the past decade do you think they'll add to the top 100 list? Which films will be removed from the list to make room for the new additions? Here are all of the nominated films that they're deciding on that didn't exist when the last list was put together: American Beauty As Good as it Gets Austin Powers The Aviator A Beautiful Mind Being John Malkovich Boogie Nights Brokeback Mountain Chicago Crash Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Fight Club Finding Nemo Gladiator Good Night and Good Luck Good Will Hunting Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Hotel Rwanda The Hours The Insider L.A. Confidential The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Lost in Translation The Matrix Memento Million Dollar Baby Moulin Rouge! Mystic River Pirates of the Carribean: Curse of the Black Pearl Ray Reqiuem for a Dream Rushmore Saving Private Ryan Shakespeare in Love Shrek Sideways The Sixth Sense Spider-man 2 There's Something About Mary Three Kings Titanic Traffic And out of those, I hope the following make the final list: American Beauty Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Fight Club Lost in Translation Memento Traffic I'm not so sure which ones I'd remove from the current list though - here's the current list: 1. CITIZEN KANE (1941) 2. CASABLANCA (1942) 3. THE GODFATHER (1972) 4. GONE WITH THE WIND (1939) 5. LAWRENCE OF ARABIA (1962) 6. THE WIZARD OF OZ (1939) 7. THE GRADUATE (1967) 8.
