"He's one of the games 'good guys'..." I heard this about Scott Rolen on ESPN or something. Why is this relevant to the homer he just hit?
-
I could've sworn it was a ONE RUN Game. Hardly a severe shit kicking. But our bullpen just refused to keep that game close. And what happened to Griffey?

I agree with Vyce. I saw the trailer and thought "Cool", but I'm not taking off my pants in excitement over it. The way you guys are gushing over it, you'd think there hadn't been a Batman movie before. And, I'm not digging the costume. The ears are too short for my liking and makes the mask look awkward. I was kinda hoping for a quasi-spandex Alex Ross influenced suit. Like the suit in Batman: Dead End. It'd make sense to me since it would be Bruce's first go at a suit.

Giants: 1)Bonds 2) Schmidt 3) ...uhhhh... Jerome Williams???

Trey Parker is a good example of why I have no real interest to sit down and watch this series. Why have someone who actively hates the 90s... sit down and talk about it? Are VH1 going for that vibe? This came way too soon, as there doesn't seem to be anyone who actually grew up in the decade.

I must've been thinking about that OTHER year you guys didn't make it out of the first round. At least we've got people showing up to our games. Ah, but those two or three who DO show up at the "Net", they're passionate, right? I never understood why an A's fan could hate the Giants. I can see being indifferent, but Oakland has been a vastly superior franchise since moving west. Just wave your four rings in our faces. End of discussion. There's no real reason for it. By that logic, Yankee fans shouldn't hate the Red Sox. Correct. I'd treat them like worms if I were you. But that's just me. I just never got the Sox/Yanks "rivalry".

I hate the As, but only because of the rings. After that, there isn't much to care about.

I've been to three Giants games this year already, (2 losses to the Pirates and Bums, and the recent one-hit shutout by Schmidt on Sunday). I'll be attending the As/Giants game on Sunday. Unfortunatley the game is in Oakland. I hate the Coliseum/'Net or whatever the hell it's called. I swear I'm gonna kill the guys who bring those drums to every fucking game and pound on them at every possible moment.

Yeah, Cruz has been around and is nothing special. But he's looking like a real Dodger-killer out there, so if he has to start every game against the Bums, so be it. And Edgardo Alfonzo and A.J. Peirzynski are finally coming around. As are Michael Tucker and Kirk Reueter. Looks like the team is starting to gel. The real problem is that our starters (Schmidt excluded, natch) can't seem to go into the fifth inning without collapsing. They'll hang 0s up there through four and look brilliant, but after that, pure meltdown.

And I hope he charges the mound with his bat and cracks Pedro's skull into the cove.

Athletes can't have opinions that bend too far one way like "regular" folk do. It's hypocritical. It's why I can't stand most sports writers. They admire athletes while treating them like retarded kids who don't know what they're doing half the time. They know, they just don't care.

I also agree that english should be learned by immigrants. Although I'm a bit more sensitive to the issue than "speak english or get out", being hispanic myself. My family immigrated to the US from Central America in the early 80s, led by my grandmother who was 40 or so at the time. And in the 20 years she's been here, she has yet to learn even basic English. She completely depended on my Mom to learn the language and translate EVERYTHING for her. She still does. I find it unnacceptable, but at the same time understand that it wasn't her intention to stay here for as long as we did.

So the Yankees will intentionally suck until the 9th inning? It can't be the Yanks. It's gotta be the Giants. It's the only way. I know there's no one on our team who is capable of even making contact with Gagne, but it'll happen. You watch. Anything else is just wrong if you ask me. Wrong.

I'm going to the Giants/BoSox game on Sunday. Which is fortunate for the Sox, because every Giants game I've ever attended ended with a loss. Can't wait.

Giants now one game over .500. Yay. Second game's starter is rookie Noah Lowry going up against Ponson.
-
That's noble. There was a whole thread dedicated to it last month... I'm sure another thread will start up in a couple of months or so.

That's noble. It already happened anyway. Courtesy of the Big Unit.

Oh, good. Brett Tomko gives up 5 runs through 4 innings while the Giants' offense decides to sleep this one out. There's the team I know and love. I really, really, really, really, really, really hope Tomko is traded soon (meaning next week) or released or run out of town or ANYTHING. Get him off this team NOW! Edit: Just hit into their 59th double play of the year. I think that's right.

Giants win their 9th in a row, 3-1 over the Rockies. Another awesome outing by Schmidt, shutting them out for 8 innings. The streak probably ends tomorrow in Arizona, but were finally over .500.

Other teams are well represented. As stated before, we have MarvintheLunatic and DrTom supporting the Orioles. Spaceman Spiff, Pinjockey, and myself are the big Phillies fans. Bored and NoCalMike cheer the Oakland Athletics. Treble cheers the Blue Jays. MrRant shakes his fist in rage at his beloved Mariners. When the Man In Blak makes an appearance, he supports the Cardinals. Kkktookmybabyaway roots for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Once in a great while, Bob Barron drops in with his Braves love. Obviously, we have a diverse group of fans. Giants fan here. The rampant Bonds hate prevents me from posting much, though. 7 in a row and fast approaching .500. Hey, in the NL West, it could mean first place.

How do you know? How do you know otherwise? There is all the proof in the world that people rot in the ground when they die. It is not Tom's job here to prove he is right, because he already is. If anyone should be asking the 'How do you know?' question, it's Dr.Tom in this situation. UYI Ok... I wasn't trying to be a smart ass. My point is Nobody knows. So why should anyone act like they do?

I hate Jackass A.J. Classic. He's gotten no love from me, or Giants fans in general. He hasn't been hitting, hasn't thrown any basestealers out, and has grounded into almost endless rally killing double plays. They should've just started Torrealba. He was more than ready and knew the pitching staff well enough. What a useless trade.
