    Opinions That Changed

And without WM9 we don't get that awesome ending at WM10 with an injured Bret regaining his belt from the guy who took it from him the year previous. My only issue, is that Yoko should've just kept the title the whole year. Agreed that Hogan's reign was a total joke. In hindsight, it doesn't seem like such a bad idea to have Yoko walk out of Mania 9 with the title. Same for Shawn at WM11.

    LOST

Yeah, I definitely enjoyed the episode until the ending. I didn't hate it, but it seems so contrived. Man, Locke's dad is pure evil. Like Barry Bonds evil. And I've had it up to here with the Others being 10 steps ahead of the Losties.

    MLB 2K7

Yeah, I'm playing 2K7, and I do use the batter's eye. It certainly helps (though change ups are total bastards), but after training myself to identify the MVP strike zone, I've got to start fresh for this game. I didn't know they were going to cut down on the batting cameras. I liked the selection offered in MLB 2k5.

    MLB 2K7

Pitching in this game is a blast. Setting up your catcher before a pitch is great. It isn't a huge development, but it's a nice little addition that really adds to the feel of the game. I like that the pitching mechanic is identical to MVP's, in that you hold for movement/velocity and tap for accuracy. Different on-screen gauge, but same principle. The hitting is a different story though. I can't, for the life of me, identify pitches in this game. They all break the same. Even four seam fastballs have sinker movement. The balls don't really even seem to cross the plate, so much as they just disappear after a few seconds. I'm sure MLB players will tell you that's as real as it gets, but it's frustrating in a video game. I K roughly 10 times a game and rarely walk. The create a player is ace. I still don't like the clutch or triples attributes, but that's a minor nitpick. And they need to put numbers on the pitch velocity attributes.

Smackdown Spoilers for the 3/2 Airing

I was also there and the only thing I'll disagree with is Vince's heat. He easily got the most heat of the night as far as the heels went. Everything else was spot on. Also, Lashley seemed way more over during ECW than he did Smackdown. I guess the crowd died towards the end, because the boos he was receiving were much louder during his match with Kennedy.

    ECW 2/27

I got the idea he was keeping Lashley from escaping the cage, but yeah, his presence was odd. I was there last night in San Jose and the crowd went nuts when Lashley hit the cage.

    2006-07 MLB Offseason Thread

That was a Griffey article? It read more like a piece about Bonds. It's Jeff Pearlman, so his opinion means dick to me, but Griffey "the best of his generation"?

Greatest WWF Matches of the 90's Tourney

Bret vs. Owen - Easy pick there. I like the "I Quit" match, but the WMX opener is my favorite match ever. Shawn vs. Razor - Toughest choice of the tourney so far, for me.

When one program clearly creates a new star

How about Bret? I'm leaning towards the Flair match, but even after he still didn't seem like a legit main eventer. Maybe WM9? KotR 93? Kurt Angle seems like a guy who was 'made' over a period of time, as opposed to having one defining moment.

    MLB 2K7

They switched to regular dollar based contracts in 05. I always turn off the team chemistry option. It's a pain in the ass. It also played more realistic than 2k5 over the course of a season. A player with an A+ power rating in the 2K games was capable of hitting 60 to 70 HRs on a regular basis. That's ridiculous. Players with 99 power ratings in MVP would be lucky to hit 50. Count me in as someone who wouldn't mind EA having the MLB license back.

    MLB 2K7

The game looks great, though I'm not too sure it'll supplant MVP 05 as my baseball game of choice. I've got the World Series edition of 2K5, and there are some elements I like, but I usually find myself going back to MVP. It's just a more fun and refined engine to play with. And the player animations were terrible in 2K games. Players screw themselves into the ground on every hit. Those weird throws infielders make. I'm glad to see they're vastly improved this year. Almost lifelike. I really, really wanted a Wii version. I guess I'll have to wait 'till next year.

    Madden NFL 07

Anyone else have the game freeze on them? This happens whenever I score after the 2 minute warning before the half. If I'm trailing and want to keep playing, I have to run out the clock or no dice. This is the Wii version, btw. I don't have too many problems with the defense. The rip/swim motions don't seem to register very well, which makes it nearly impossible to break through the line, but that's pretty much it. I can swat, catch, strip the ball and go for the 'big hit' just fine. I'm not particularly good at it, but it works.

    The Office, Season 3

Andy stalking Michael in the office was great. The camera panning to reveal Michael hiding behind his door was the best part of the show for me. When did Ryan become such a dick? I've never liked his character, although I do relate to him more than anyone else as I've been in his shoes, but this season, he's been unbearable when not interacting with Kelly. "Dwight had a big personality, and I have a big personality. A lot of times when two people like that get together it can be explosive." Flawless delivery there.

    Guitar Hero.

I'm on the fence. The new songs don't do much for me outside of "Rock 'n Roll Hootchie Koo". The downloadable content sounds awesome, of course, but I'll wait to see what gets released. I was disappointed with the tracklist in GH2. It just wasn't as fun to play along with compared to the first game. If they release GH1's set list for download it's an easy buy for me. I really want to play those songs with the updated mechanics and co-op mode.
