    Friday The 13th (2009)

Well that trailer got my interest level in this up alot higher than it was.....still really leery though of it all.
  2. So I'll be meeting Bruce Campbell at a meet and greet tomorrow in the Twin Cities before "My Name is Bruce" is shown......should be something else. Any questions anyone wants me to ask him, feel free to post.

    The Dark Knight

Well, the one I see at stores is the one that has the blue frame, and its actually kind of small looking, and normally sells for about $299.99. Isn't the blu ray player supposed to make regular DVDs look HD? I know they probably won't look as good as the blu ray discs, but I thought it was supposed to make them look better. Yeah, Blue Ray players are supposed to upconvert regular DVDs, at least I know that occurs with the PS3....

    WWE Raw - December 1, 2008

Yeah, that match was atrocious to sit through, thank god I DVR'd the show versus watching it as it was happening live. He did a great job selling during the beatdown though, at least. In fact, most of that Raw was a fucking chore to sit through. Highlight had to be the short Rey/Miz match to me. Pretty fun little deal there. The beatdown at the end was pretty strong, although I totally question them even thinking of doing Orton/Cena again, given we would see a pretty strong opposite effect type of reaction for each of them if you ask me. They might as well just go ahead and turn Orton if they are going to go back to Cena/Orton again. And of course we know they won't turn Cena, so the idea of a double turn just isn't going to happen. Thought it would have made more sense for Jericho to just have did the final beatdown comeback on Cena instead of Orton, since, ya know, he's supposed to be challenging for the belt in a few weeks. But it is what it is. Next week sounds really like a loaded show to me, ppv calibur on paper in terms of the matches lined up. HHH/Batista, Cena/Edge part ???, Hardy/Jericho, as well as I would assume Kofi/Rey (which could be strong) and Punk/Morrison (which is normally a solid matchup) to lead to Regal versus the winner at the ppv. I'm sure the awards segments will be some of the most out of touch corniness seen in quite some time from the company, if recent booking ideas seem to keep going the same way. The Duggan Shopzone commercial on the show, the Santino shit, as well as the DX hauking toys certainly reached levels of sheer ridiculousness of stupidity in WWE always striving to just be sooooo hilarious we all forgot to laugh. Doesn't Freddy Prinze Jr. have any better ideas for ways to add comedy to the show than this shit?

    Impact *SPOILERS* for 12/4

That's very possible, since the idea was that if Christian stayed, he would become the main mouthpiece of the group.

    CTDWAT: TNA Edition

Funny story on the new name for the babyface faction from this weeks Observer The company realized TNA Originals was a weak name, particularly when Rhino and Team 3-D were being brought into the group and eventually Jeff Jarrett and Mick Foley would be involved. There was talk at first of doing a name based on “X” for Xtreme except for the DX connotations. At one point the idea was Team Xtacy, seriously, until someone realized that could be a bad idea. So it became TNA Front Line.

    Impact *SPOILERS* for 12/4

Joe has got to have one of the shittiest win-loss records this year in TNA for a guy who not only has been the companies champion for half of the year, but is a supposed main eventer. I'm missing where the payoff is to balance out the bullshit with the way he's booked. I gotta think they are intentionally pulling this shit on Joe now, perhaps envious he put over ROH so strong last week when he returned there? Because being defeated by a fucking perfume spray shot in the eyes is just ridiculous. And what in the hell are they doing even having those chicks run out to cause Joe the match? Talk about clusterfuck. And still not impressed with this Dudley face turn and now subsequent pseudo-leaders of the face side. Having them re-turn heel would be stupid, just make the "Front Line" more inept than they already are. They really should have just never turned in the first place, stayed out of the feuding with the factions, and just left it at that. Rhino over Sting.....well, I give them credit as they are really pushing Rhino heavily lately (I thought his promo work was great last week on Impact), but it's really pretty transparent to me, considering the on and off push he's gotten the last few years. And I think we all can expect to see this push pulled back once again after the ppv, following an obvious loss to Angle.

Ongoing Impact spoilers for this Thursday

3D joining the "Front Line", much less as the two unannounced guys in the eight man tag, sounds just retarded. A face turn isn't what those guys need right now, and them joining up with the other faces in this faction just makes the Front Line come off that more horribly lame. One of the dumbest twists in this faction storyline so far, easily.

    WWE Survivor Series - November 23, 2008

As a one on one match, there is the possibility for a DQ. However, once Edge entered and made it a Triple Threat, there is no DQ. There are no DQ's in Triple Threat matches. Ever. That's why you were probably confused. I have never recalled them making a point that triple threat matches are always no DQ as a stipulation.

Would have been great but would have totally overshadowed the Cena win. If/when Hardy gets the belt, it won't be that easy and out of the blue.

    WWE Survivor Series - November 23, 2008

Jericho's story this year seems to be making back his losses with pulling out a win in the rematch (trend with the Michaels and Batista programs for sure) so I wouldn't be surprised to see him get the title back in that rumored triple threat match for the next ppv with Cena/Batista/Jericho.

I think someone is playin a rib, since that news item mentions Cena returning to "the Raw draft"

    WWE Survivor Series - November 23, 2008

WTF? They're switching belts? You gotta be kidding me. Overall, I thought that was an ok, certainly memorable show. The Cena win was to be expected, and wouldn't at all be surprised to see Cena lose it quickly, possibly back to Jericho or Batista. The match itself was pretty heatless up until halfway through, and started to pick up from there. Both guys worked pretty hard and gave a good show. The Edge win worked for me, thank god for all of the chaos at the end of that match or else it would have easily been worst ppv big match of the year. Plus, I wouldn't be surprised to see that finish overturned, also. Since Hardly was out there, throwing chairshots, shouldn't it have been a DQ, meaning HHH would retain? Edge gettting swerved back out of the title, to me, makes a much better story than HHH chasing (might as well keep the belt on him for now), and regardless, Hardy will still be in the hunt, as well as Kozlov (who lost a ton of momentum tonight in how he worked that match so ridiculously slow and mundane, horrible stuff). I think we will eventually get to Edge/Hardy/HHH at WrestleMania XXV, possibly. Taker/HHH is still also a strong possibility. The rest of the show was something else, at times absurd, other times solid, and in a few areas, really damn good. Saw some negative remarks on the casket match, but I didn't think it was all too bad. Much more creatively laid out than any other casket match I've seen before.

    WWE Survivor Series - November 23, 2008

Did that last match kill the crowd or what? Way less heat than what I would expect for Cena's return big match here. But its starting to pick up.

    WWE Survivor Series - November 23, 2008

My god, that Kozlov/HHH "mat wrestling" stuff was easily worst match of the year candidate material, and thank god for the finish (as conviluted as it was) as it at least made up for the shit before it. Totally caught me by surprise since I hadn't even heard that Edge was supposed to show up tonight before the show. Good stuff there. The crowd totally turning on the match was funny. The rest of this show has been hit or miss.....the women's match was sloppy, the other tags were alright. Cena/Jericho should be pretty good.
  16. So I have a habit of catching a matinee on Sat afternoons most weeks, and on a whim and without no information on it, I went and saw a new flick out called House a bit earlier, figured it was a horror (since the only thing I knew about it was that the poster has a pentagram on it), and it was rated R, so figured it couldn't be too bad. Hell, for all I knew, it was an under the radar remake of the House movie from the 80s. Well, what it ended up being was basically a christian-based film of all things. There was no gore, no language at all, no sex/nudity,hardly any violence, much less none of a serious kind. Still trying to figure out why it was even rated R in the first place. Came home and read up about it, and sure enough, apparently there was controversy about even giving it an R because it was financed and produced by a christian-based film company, and there never was an intention to have it be rated R, but yet they couldn't do anything more to the film to get it to a PG-13 because of the "intensity" of the storyline. Needless to say, this is one film to avoid as horror and christian values just don't mix. Through about 2/3 of the movie, I just thought it was a really tame and lame attempt at horror, but then when they started bringing in the whole story about these characters, who all had killed someone in the past and they needed to redeem themselves by "seeing the light" in the "darkness" of the house to escape, that's when it because obvious what was going on. Oh, and the two main characters are a seperated husband and wife who can't make things work because of the death of their daughter (both blaming the other person for her death) and of course, the whole point is they forgive themselves and their spouse at the end, ie "seeing the light" of God (who was cloaked as their own daughter who was doing the cliche "tortured soul" little girl role, who was inside the house trying to help the couple escape and show them that God forgives them, etc) I'm sure this movie will gain some sort of weird cult status, particularly within christian-based organizations. Personally, I thought it was pretty fucking awful. Wow, I just checked out some more information on this film, and it was only released in thirteen theaters nationwide, and here in Mankato, MN just happened to be one of them, a place that hardly gets any obscure shit like this, much less most indy films. Weird. Oh and on top of it, to no surprise whatsoever, I was the only person in the theater.
  17. Speaking of SNL this week, was it just me or was every sketch based on some gay undertones or in the very least had some sort of gay character in each? Or in some cases, it was just blatantly out there. Just found it a little weird that it just kept going on from sketch to sketch.

    UFC 91: Couture vs Lesnar

If there was ever that one defining card that was "the one" for the UFC in their history, this was it. Delivered to the max. Show was from start to finish, as solid as you can get. The main event was about as historic and heated as you can get, just amazing stuff all around.

    Prison Break

Well since they seem to be building to finally and totally exposing the company and having the feds now on top of it, it seems to be coming to a total conculsion anyway, so they must have been almost preparing for it coming to an end, it seems. I still do enjoy the show, but was wondering what would be the point of going on after this season anyway, assuming they wrap up this cylla storyline.
  20. The natural fit would probably be FX. Wouldn't be shocked to see maybe USA or Spike even pick it up either.

    CTDWAT: TNA Edition

Are you being sarcastic? Working his ass off? He's had one basic high profile match all year, the one against Joe, and even though it was impressive to see Joe kick out of all of that offense, the fact that he then couldn't kick out of a low blow and Nash's feet on the ropes kind of, at least to me, made Joe look weak by the end of it. I will admit Nash worked as hard as one would expect him to in that match, but by no means did he really make Joe look good in there as a whole. He was getting there, but then that finish ruined alot of it. Really high when it comes to good business? I dont get that part at all when he really has, more than anything, devalued any opposition he's worked against for years, and now this officially includes Joe as well. The apparent storyline of Nash avoiding Joe for an extended period of time is just furthering proof that Joe will never fully get his heat back from Nash in the long run....chances are there will be a convenient parting of ways for Nash and TNA when this time comes for the bookers to say to Nash that the angle (probably streamrolled by Nash himself to the creative team) needs to come to a head and Joe needs to be put over strong. It just seems like he's working the bookers in this situation, trying to put himself over more than Joe, and then when the time comes for the Joe/Nash rematch to occur, he will fight it because in between the first match and the rematch, Joe will probably continue to lose heat in general because he continues to be chumped and buried, and Nash will start to get more and more over because of being in the hot new faction that is being booked as uber dominant and overcoming the odds. Something is seriously wrong with this picture.

    OAO ECW Thread (11/11/11...er, 08)

Hardy/Finlay MOTYC? Hell, it's not even match of the week, that would go to Michaels/Jericho from Raw or even Angle/Abyss from Turning Point. Don't get me wrong, it was a solid *** 1/2 match and good stuff for ECW TV main event standards, but no way was that anywhere close to one of the better matches of the year.

    Impact spoilers for next week

I know, it's really retarded, and the MEM are basically being portrayed as the faces in both main event situations, facing unfair stipulations.....if they lose the tag match, Sting loses his belt to Styles without even losing it to him really (which doesn't help anyone out) and then if Angle loses, he "loses his contract." Is this shit for real?
  24. RedJed

    Impact spoilers for next week

My first impression is that those two "main events" at the next pay per view sound fucking horrible. Lame stipulation attached to that eight man tag, although TNA could pull a few surprises by the two mystery men on the AJ/Joe team. This might be where Daniels returns, and it wouldn't shock me to see maybe Low-Ki come back or something too. And what a ridiculous stipulation for Angle v. Rhino. That match should be on Impact to BUILD to a Jarrett/Angle main event for this next ppv instead of just doing Rhino/Angle, but whatever. Is anyone really intruiged by the idea that if Angle loses, his "contract is void" and if he wins, we get Jarrett/Angle again like it's this huge thing we are just supposed to wait on baited breath with? I don't get this build for an Angle/Jarrett rematch, its making JJ look more like a pussy than anything, and now also, with Foley's help, basically unfair commissioner types. And can't they do better with Foley than this? I like the idea that they are trying to push Rhino here but it just seems weird, kind of thrown together since Christian is on the outs. Not feeling the overdoing of Christian possibly leaving to WWE either here. It was fine in the other spoilers, and that should have been it, not another week of bringing it up, and then tying Rhino into it to have him start feuding with MEM. And the point of teasing Eric Young won the X division belt is what exactly?
