I think Bendis is great when he doesn't have to deal with continuity, then the quality's right out the window. Marvel should recognize that and just put him on ultimates and Alias.

This is a great tournament. I think very few movies have been unrepresented. -
The only time ICP cracked me up: (besides that above Andre quote, that's pretty great. In 'Santa is a fat bitch' there's this really high voice reapeating the lines in the background in the chorus, except for one time when it busts out with "OOOooooh my Undertaker.." I remember a few rappers mentioning Lex Luger, which is weird, since he's like the most uncool wrestler ever.

Round 2 ______________________________ REGION A - The "Zombies Don't Run" Region Gates of Hell (Paura nella città dei morti viventi) aka ("City of the Living Dead") (1980) The Exorcist (1973) Shaun of the Dead (2004) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) ______________________________________________ REGION B - The "Jocks & Whores Must Die" Region The Return of the Living Dead (1985) An American Werewolf in London (1981) Dead/Alive ("Braindead") (1992) (tie) Alien (1979) ________________ REGION C - The "Party Hasn't Begun Until You've Been Bitten" Region The Thing (1982) Night of the Living Dead (1968) Dawn of the Dead (1978) Poltergeist (1982) ___________________________ REGION D - The "Why Don't Parents Understand?" Region Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn (1987) A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) Halloween (1978) What a quandry, do I vote for Alien because it's a better movie, or Suspiria because it's sort of a better HORROR movie? (i.e. actually creepy) -
I actually sort of liked the idea of Kord being the new host for the Spectre, but I don't know how a genial Spectre would act.

Or if you've seen one of the movies and it really really sucks..... -
Um, again, does this board need some money? Because I have money.
-
Does the board have any troubles with financing?

I've played through FFIV hard-type, both the official trans and a fan trans. I really DO like that game, but FFVI and Chrono Trigger are a LOT better. One thing that's crazy is looking back at how ridiculously good the soundtracks of FFIV-VII (especially IV and VI) were. Uematsu was Godly back then.

I will submit that Ween is the funniest band ever. God Ween Satan and the Pod are basically parodies of most genres rolled into two albums. The Pod is almost unlistenable unless you have an ear for parody, and songs like Let Me Lick Your Pussy and The Stallion parts 1& 2are just downright hilarious. Not to mention the whole chocolate and cheese album which is basically the funniest qhite funk album ever. It takes a ceratin taouch to be funny consistently. Ciccone Youth and Del's "If you Must" do it for me consistently. Also "A Boy named Sue." What songs/albums/artists crack you the fuck up? Let's try to steer clear of parody shit like Weird Al, though he sometimes comes up with a gem.

Thanks for organizing this tournament guys (use the sledge your nomination of FXII VII notwithstanding.) REGION A - The "Zombies Don't Run" Region Gates of Hell (Paura nella città dei morti viventi) aka ("City of the Living Dead") (1980) The Omen (1976) Child's Play (1988) The Exorcist (1973) Shaun of the Dead (2004) Cronos (1993) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988) ______________________________________________ REGION B - The "Jocks & Whores Must Die" Region The Blair Witch Project (1999) The Return of the Living Dead (1985) An American Werewolf in London (1981) Versus (2000) Black Christmas (1974) Dead/Alive ("Braindead") (1992) Alien (1979) Suspiria (1977) ________________ REGION C - The "Party Hasn't Begun Until You've Been Bitten" Region The Thing (1982) Rosemary's Baby (1968) Night of the Living Dead (1968) Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens (1922) Near Dark (1987) Dawn of the Dead (1978) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) Poltergeist (1982) ___________________________ REGION D - The "Why Don't Parents Understand?" Region Creepshow (1982) Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn (1987) The Return of the Living Dead Part 3 (1993) Eraserhead (1977) Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) From Dusk 'Til Dawn (1996) Pumpkinhead (1989) Halloween (1978) Seriously, good tournament. I'm hoping for Evil Dead II. It;s funny that the cult Cemetary Man which battled 'Dawn' wasn't on this list. It's a cult favourite. If I've learned anything from these threads, I HAVE to se Demons. Honestly, the love for Return of the living Dead is excellent. Tar Zombie + perfect titties= $$$$$ -
God, If I could get a scan of 'The Sheriff of Dyke Hole" I'd give you what for. The first caption: "You shouldn't be afraid of Dick".

I replayed FFIV a couple years ago, and it was fun, but some of the plot defies belief. Cid fucking straps himself with dynamite, jumps off an airship and detonates. Next time you see him? Wow, he was pretty banged up. Engineers are tuff! EDIT: Kain was still the shit though. I latched onto him early as a kid, as I'm sure everyone did.

Well, I just went down to the local comic shop for the first time in forever and dropped a mint on anything and everything with the Infinite Crisis name. So far, I've just been reading the OMAC stuff, and I don't know if I like where they're going, nor do I dislike it, since I have absolutely no idea what's going to happen. Either way, it's really enjoyable so far. And it looks to be a hit, what with the multiple printings. EDIT: Could someone tell me what exactly happened in the last issue of Rebirth, cause I missed it, and they were out. Mega Combo EDIT: I realize this is almost entirely fanboy talking, but I almost sense a Deathstroke face turn. He was put over hige in Identity Crisis, he was never really THAT super-evil in the grand scheme of things, and I can't see him kowtowing to the whims of the VU for too much longer (he'll do anything for a contract, but he also seems to like to fight mano a mano) Probably just my markishness. Mega Hyper EDIT Combo Finish!: Did anything happen with Capn Boomerang's son? (evidently the recipient of some speed force?)

FFVI is way more tragic in general.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (I just saw it; the 79's version with Sutherland) and Versus would be my two picks to fill in the empty spaces. -
And while I like it, ICO ranks an 18 on their list? Apparently if your game's just REALLY pretty, it can rank in the top 20. And what's with the huge disparity between FFVI and Chrono Trigger? They're very close in quality in my book. And FFVI > FFIV in almost every way, except FFIV felt so new when it was released. And Bionic Commando is OK, but there are at least a couple points in that game where you can get stuck (through pretty much no fault of your own) with no recourse but to reset your Nintendo. I would rather play ANY of the games above it than Bionic Commando. All in all a pretty good list, though. Really nice to see X-COM and TIE Fighter place so high, they're pretty much the kings of PC gaming, IMO.

That's gotta be a joke. It's the very worst of the series, Except for maybe that weird one when the guy's imitating Jason. No, VIII's the worst. -

Evil Dead II Versus Dead/Alive Return of the Living Dead Near Dark Shivers (Cronenberg) Videodrome Audition Ju-On: The Grudge (Japanese) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original, natch) -
I wish they had it with chicken.
-
Zombi would probably win, even though Fulci's done much better. Suspiria's probably my fave giallo movie.
-
-Ghosts -Epidemics -Horror from another planet And we couldset a couple precedents for confusing things: Vampires should be under monster, for example (and of course IMO) as making an 'undead' category would be weird, since zombie movies are a genre unto themselves.
