^ ^ ditto Crimson Christensen was adequate, except for the scenes with Portman. There's little doubt that Portman can definitely be a good actress, yet she was bad in eps II & III. This would suggest to me bad DIRECTING. Lucas probably wanted them to read in this really flat manner, thinking it would make them seem really earnest or something, when in fact it came off as the two leads not really giving a shit. -
You have to admit that mirror-universe Phil Collins is lookin' snazzy, though.

That's because the psychological germ (technical term: bad juju) has been planted so deeply in your neurological recesses (technical term: brain cave) that you don't even KNOW it, man. Clear those engrams out, you silly goose. Shit, I mean:

Low Ki has good spots, and some in-ring charisma. DDP had a knack for cheap heat. Getting in 'respect' feuds with more popular faces, constantly nursing injuries. He was booked to NEVER look bad for quite a while too. The Outsiders, who were hugely over as 'cool' tweeners, begged him to join the nWo since they were good friends (thus giving the illusion that he, too, was cool.). Then he Diamond cut both of them (or Diamond cut Hall and somehow laid out Nash, I forget.) Thus getting one up on the two guys who had single-handedly beat the crap out of the entire WCW midcard a month earlier. I was really surprised with the staying power of the New Age Outlaws.

Muta's got to be up there too. X-Pac was a right little bastard for a while there. Rude was mostly an arrogant heel, but he had some inspired villainous moments, especially in his feud with Lawler in (Memphis?) It's gotta be Raven/Roberts followed by the Dudleys in my book, though. I loved when the Dudleys found a sheet of paper from Gertner which had all his debts, and they assumed that it was sort of a 'hit' sheet'; they proceeded to maul everyone who even sort of liked them. Jericho in WCW was arrogant and sneaky and detestable at the same time. Making fun of Dean Malenko's 'poor dead daddy' was just crazy. Also, didn't he beat Juvy, unmasking him, then proceed to beat the shit out of him anyway?

The commentaries are great (and there's a TON of them, unlike AD, unfortunately) My faves so far are the Bebe Neuworth ep commentary (one of the worst eps on the DVD) where they talk about Tone Loc's 'gemme something to GROMP on' line, and the Christmas story commentary with Dick and Rogan. You also get the very distinct impression that Rogan despises Fear Factor.

Anyone found any Easter Eggs yet?

Did you? Did you really? Bayliss wins no doubt. Course I've only seen the 1st season of Oz. Your GOB reference earns 3 points though.

Some tech problems, but all in all, it's NewsRadio on DVD! I've gotten my brother hooked after 2 shows. Happy day!

Yeah, I accept that there's probably always been some spin in the military, but keeping his family in the dark is just cold. You want some propoganda, look at WWII.

Actually.... http://www.bartleby.com/141/strunk.html#1 It should be Vis's. Though since it's become commonly used, I'm sure you can find plenty of sources that say dropping the last s is okay. Just like all those misspelled words that now have 'alternate spellings.' -
Well, it's definitely a gutsy list. I mean, they clearly know Kurosawa's work, but don't have Seven Samurai on there. Drunken Master II is an interesting choice. Lots of gangster movies there, and not many comedies at all (at least out of the movies I've seen). No Duck Soup OR Modern Times. Unforgiven but no Wild Bunch. Finding Nemo but no Miyazaki movie or Fantasia? Heresy. Hitchcock's done multiple movies that were better than Psycho.

No Vertigo pretty much DQ's this list in my eyes.

Thy're acting like the booby she lost was real. Last I checked diet and excercise don't cause sacks of saline to fall out of you chest.

This story is really, really weird. His own men shot him, then burned his uniform? That's completely bizzare. So of course the army says he died storming a bunker. There's obviously more to this than we know.

I bought Golden Ocean, 50' wave's first(?) full length, and I absolutely love it. I understand it's pretty much Throwing Muses with a different drummer, and since Throwing Muses is a band I've heard of, but never really heard, what albums should I pick up? Thanks!

Still work for the man as an engineer.

Grandia Xtreme came out after Grandia II, It was basically a dungeon-crawl with a pretty lean story. The battle system was really great, though. The amount of customization was pretty crazy.
-
Did anyone play Grandia Xtreme? It was really bland, but the battle system was awesome, came together much nicer than in the original Grandia. Didn't play Grandia II.

I think if you had posted the above and closed the thread, it would've probably been better. Hitting on all the internet stereotypes of 'you're ugly' 'you don't make any money' and 'you have no life' is just going to rub people the wrong way.

"I've been using this chip for the past month or so. Combined with the SLI 6800 Ultras . . . WOW! I can now get killed in Doom3 with all the goodies turned on. " Hee.
