'Sports Night' had the worst laugh track for the few episodes it lasted.

What I mean about the movie statement is that I can think of few movies that turn into well-made games. Yet, for every single game, from Constantine, to Catwoman, they keep cranking a game out for every movie made with the slightest bit of action. I guess lately there have been some good ones (Riddick, Spider-Man) and some OK ones (some LOTR games), but by and large you'd think people would be leery of these games by now.

Back in the old days, emotion was impossible to convey with simple text, smilies were a distant dream, and we used to have to communicate with rudimentary ASCII art.

I guess to qualify my earlier statement, somethingI had not considered earlier is that I think companies today think that almost all of their projects are going to be revolutionary, and the second coming of console gaming. What other explanation do we have that we rarely see kick-ass 2D games? Unless they simply don't sell because gamers want to be wowed by graphics. BTW, a game Disgaea or Castlevania SOTN with nice 2D graphics and some neat 3D effects very often looks better to me than some murky 3D games with blurry textures that probably took more graphical work. On the other hand, it seems to me sometimes that games are coming close to a peak in terms of graphical beauty, besides por exemplo, photorealistic sports games. It's hard to get prettier than Wanda and the Collossus.

I have never heard a spokesman for a buddhist, or hindu, or taoist group (you know, people who's freedoms could be directly impinged by this) EVER bitch about this piddly little shit.

It could be a good thing to have a minor price hike. Back in the Super Nes days the Dollar was worth a lot more, and Chrono Trigger and SM World 2 cost like 70-80 bucks. If games cost more, people may buy less, the rental market will go up, and hopefully some of the shitty shovelware flooding the market now will go by the wayside. (I can't believe the market hasn't completely gone dead for console games based on movies)

It in no way prevents people from practicing their freedom of religion. It oppresses no-one. How does the statement 'In God we trust' benefit monotheistic religions, even if you consider them a religion as a whole? How does it prevent anyone from doing anything ever? Will it burn the palms of pantheists who attempt to hold the holy money? I just really don't see how this in any way oppresses anyone anywhere.

I actually think averaged out, Shane cuts at least as good a promo as HHH, who was really pretty good back in the 'my time' era, but has since been pretty boring. They both had the same 'I repeat ad nauseum that I'm the best, so that makes it true' interview that I don't particularly care for.

Again, RJ, just think about all the fun we're going to have when a bunch when/if a bunch of conservative zealots get in there. Then tell me that the judiciary is just interpreting a couple laws. You've yet to really explain why a judge should overturn the will of the people in a democracy (or republic, whatever) why they don't have an EXTREMELY strong case to do so.

Monotheism in all its forms is a PLURAL and therfore cannot be a SINGULAR religion. It in no way reflects the establishment of a state religion. It has existed in far more conservative times, and no one tried to establish a state religion THEN. The Ten Commandments in front of a court is wrong, IMO. It establishes the laws of God as being more important than the laws of Man in that court's eyes. That's fine in your personal life, but the courts are established to uphold the laws of Man. However, "In God We Trust" on fucking currency has never, and will never in any way inhibit anyone's ability to worship how they choose in the Unites States. If our laws ACTUALLY become related to religion, if people's rights are in any way restricted based on their religion, then people can bitch.

Based on the nebulous nature of cruel and unusual, taken away from its historical phrasing, they could just up and do away with prison sentences. Hooray! Of course many states don't have the death penalty. They made that law through the correct legislative processes. Good for them! My opposition to this is not because I'm some great lover of the death penalty, it's because the judicial branch is overstepping its bounds. It's pretty much beholden to no one, so I think it should make sweeping decisions sparingly. If (and, unfortunately when) we have a ton of very conservative judges in the court, some bad shit's going to happen because the judicial branch has been getting into the business of lawmaking.

Well, Moore's much more like the Democractic Limbaugh than the Democratic Coulter. Rall is the Democratic Coulter. Really offensive, and calling the other side ridiculous things is 'funny'.

Ripper: Well, they're both sort of cases of the judges overstepping their bounds. The judges are supposed to evalutate the constitutionality of certain laws. That's pretty much it. If there was ever concrete evidence that being gay was something you're born into (probably won't be long) then I think they could definitively approve gay marriage going with the 'all men are created equal' statement. Even though I think common sense dictate people are born gay, that's not really going to cut it. I think judges should be careful to override the will of the people. Yes, the will of the people has been wrong in the past (segregation), but they should have a VERY strong case to overturn that will.

Addendum: A new interpretation of a vague clause should have a more concrete basis than the Supreme Court's general feelings.
