Hell, yes, that's why I like playing it. Has to be with a friend, though. Otherwise I can't do the patented Servbot crouch taunt. Actually, the most dun I've has playing games lately is guitar hero, MvC2 and Guilty GearX2 playing as faust. Ok, back on topic. FFVI has so much going for it. It's incredibly deep, for one. First time I played it, I missed Shadow (well who actually got him without the help of a cheat guide) was frustrated by the magemaster, since I hadn't obtained life3 yet, and didn't see Kefka as the main villain until the big floating island twist (obvious in retrospect. ) Gau was also one of my best characters. It has the BEST music composition in a game ever, IMO. One of the top five villains ever, (I'd put only Luca Blight, Jowy Blight, Galleon and Shodan ahead of him) It has an incredible twist 1/3 through the game, and great characters. And a decent mix of humor and pathos. The game seems easy now, but the first time through, it has about the perfect level of difficulty. Also the last real showing of Yoshitaka Amono's artwork, and the only one that did it a bit of justice. THe enemies look fan-frakkin'-tastic. Also probably the only game where I was inspired to mega-level my characters to unneededly god-like levels the second time around. I made Terra, Locke and Celes fucking stat beasts. One thing: If you make Edgar's Gared at the start, apparently they call him something different when he's 'incognito' (aka two extra red pixels).

Michael has usually been portrayed as a man of average intelligence, but socially incapable. And he usually has the best intentions at heart. This reminds me of the only other Office episode I'll probably never rewatch: The Yankee Swap. In that episode Michael was such a callow, mean-spirited prick. It's a really funny episode, but it's incredibly hard to watch. I must admit, I TOTALLY marked out for Skrantonicity.

I'm sorta leaning in that direction... I just beat Chrono Trigger in 15 hours with beefed-out characters, and it wasn't that fun. Once you know exactly what to do, the sense of exploration, and the immersion of talking to NPCs and the like is pretty much out the window. FFVI is still my favorite game, but I've beat it, like 6 or 7 times. I should pick up a Nippon Ichi game or Valkyrie PRofile 2. I tried playing FFXII and DQVIII, both gifts. Both are fine games, but I simply find I can't slog through long cut-scenes anymore. Which is why I was crushed when Suikoden went from the quickest, most gameplay-filled RPG series (with #2 having a great story!) immediately into another long, loading-filled, cutscene packed series. I think my game appreciation has actually devolved. Now I just want to play Bangai-O and Marvel v Capcom 2. And Guitar Hero.

We watched our friends grow up together, And we saw them as they fell. Some of them fell into Heaven, Some of them fell into Hell. *Vomits, passes out, is Irish*

Yeah, Twin Peaks had one overriding mystery that people were obsessed with, and anything they could've revealed would've been a let-down. I find that it's the fucking bizarre Lynch characters that made the show, but of course, I watched it like five years after it was over. To this day, the only big mystery on TV I've seen solved satisfyingly is the big mystery of season 1 of Veronica Mars. With Lost, they don't have to blow the big ending, just give a couple minor answers, or at least reminders so people don't think they've dropped entire plots (which they did, with the tail passengers). THen, keep up the character interaction. Complicated mythologies and characters existing in a vacuum can only last so long. Actually, a more valid comparison for Lost may be THe Prisoner.

I'm sorry, I have to go against the grain here. There were some pretty funny moments (mostly courtesy of Dwight), and some sweet ones (Pam&Roy, Dwight & Angela, awww) However, while Michael has been oblivious, attention-starved, inconsiderate, and at times just stupid, he has never appeared to be literally retarded. I mean, interrupting wedding vows? We're treading on Homer Simpson territory here. I hope it's not the beginning of a trend. Just cheap and lazy. ON the plus side? First episode of the Office that I've actually actively disliked. But man, that was bad.

I'll say yay. When you're 12, it's awesome. Beyond that, Ally Sheedy is awesome, Judd Neslson's rebelliousness is sorta cute. (Shit what was he, 25?) The teacher is awesome. It's not a great movie by any stretch, but it's so much better than any teen movie I've seen in recent memory. Plus the David Bowie opening and closing fucking rule. Hands down. Right now, it's just pure nostalgia, but it's good nostalgia. I do think Ally Sheedy shouldn't've ended up with Amelio Estevez. Though when he sees her made up, his *ungh, boner... hormones risings! GIRL!" face is priceless. EDIT: And I'm not too much for 80's comedies. I think Porky's sucks. I think Caddyshack Sucks.

Yeah, especially when they had the almighty Sentinel (EDIT: Sentry, sorry) on their team. I still don't get how he exists without Void. don't really get that. Oh, wait I do. They wanted a cool splash page. Marvel's doing better than the shit days of the 90's. I still enjoy the Ultimates line. (Did Ultimates2 ever conclude btw? fucking Millar) But Millar is just Ok, and as I said, is just doing Ellis's 'Authority' (which he took over, not very well, IMO) ad nauseum. If it leads to something substantial, that'll be cool. But I thought Avengers Dissassmbled and House of M were pretty blah, and didn't lead to anything. Contrast that to DC. I hadn't bought a non-Vertigo or Elseworlds DC book in ages. I heard some hype, so I bought Identity Crisis. It was pretty good. Led straight to Countdown. The one-shot was great (though I hated it TED NO!) and I'd say 3 out of the four minis were good (Much like all the Kree Skull stuff, I found Rann -Thanagar a major bore). Infinite crisis was stellar. And now 52 is really good. They all are integrated, they come out on time, DC is so, so much better now. This coming from a total Marvel (and Vertigo) fanboy.

I'll say, to soften mylast post, I don't think LOST is a terrible show or anything. It's just that the first season was SO damn good, that everything since has been a letdown. I only watch like 2-3 hours of TV a week. So, Heroes, Vernoica Mars and the NBC sitcoms have pretty much filled my personal lineup. I may pick up season 3 on DVD. I just get the same sort of feeling I get with Alias and Twin Peaks. Of course, Twin Peaks caved to the pressure of the Laura Palmer murder too early. I could've watched Cooper and the various denizens of the town be weird and talk backward for a ew years. But then, I like Lynch movies.

I loved the first season of Lost, but stopped watching late in the second season. The characters had stopped acting like human beings. The flashbacks became increasingly unnecessary, and that was the only way they developed characters, because they weren't shown interacting anymore. A lot of the characters I really liked (particularly Sayid) were lost in the shuffle due to the introduction of the pointless tail survivors (well Eko was cool). I mean they went from a dynamic cast of characters actually trying to explore and escape the island to sitting, bored on the beach, and literally sitting in a boring-ass bunker punching in numbers on a computer. Way to take advantage of the lush scenery, on that note. But that's just the point, if they were still telling interesting stories with interesting characters, I wouldn't care all that much about guessing the big giant secret. They aren't anymore. I don't even care if the big resolution is brilliant and mind-blowing. I'm not going to sit through two more seasons of boredom and wooden characters to get there.

I don't know many people who listen to bands just because they're influential. Sure, it's important to acknowkledge influential bands, if you want to know your music history, and gain an apprecieation for the people who influenced your favorite bands. But it's all about listenability. I don't like Velvet Underground because they were influential, I like them because they kicked ass. Oh, and I still don't like Intrepol very much.

Final Fantasy I was pretty brilliant for its time. Final Fantasy II is just broken. THe games impossible if you don't take advantage of the glitches. If you do, it's easy, but tedious as hell. It could have the best story ever (doubt it) but I'd never know. I may be in the minority, but I liked the translations Ted Woolsey did for FFVI and Chrono Trigger. Sure it's weird seeing people getting drunk off of lemonade and poi, but hey, that was Nintendo.

If they do that right away (Have Tony being controlled) it'll be the biggest gyp. At the same time, it's sort of the only thing that makes sense. I mean, as Cap said in frontline 9, some of Tony's arguments made sense, it was just it was so rushed and gung-ho. Iron Man supporting pro-registration makes total sense, and so do some of his arguments. If he had calmly explained his point of view, and formulated the plan of having each state with a super-team, and organizing the heroes, things would have been a lot calmer. Instead SHIELD asks Cap about it, and the minute he shows any resistance they want to throw him in jail. Tony doesn't complain, uses his knowledge of his friends to screw with them, and when he starts losing, ludicrously recruits villains to fight for him. I still can't get over Bullseye?!?. Yeah, you can control that guy. Even if he has a shock collar, he's probably going to kill 3 people before you can even trigger it. All in all, it's really not such a bad storyline, and it's had some killer scenes (I love the Cap Punisher confrontation), it just could have been so much better. And on time.

Matt Young: I have a cat (at the parents' house) who will not fucking come out of the box (like Bradi). He also looks exactly like Bradu. It helps that he's probably the llaziest, fattest, cutest cat ever. And while the parents go out for a week, he;s mine. Happy. As long as he doesn't sit on my chest or back while sleeping. And proceed to nip at me until I feed his fat ass.
