Detective Conan has run 440 episodes and 10 movies in Japan, and is still going. The best thing about Vampire Hunter D is the cover artwork by Yoshitaka Amano. Akira should definitely be there. it's still one of the best looking movies of all time. The story in the manga is better for sure, but that's often the case. Appleseed the manga definitely belongs in a HoF, but I wouldn't put any other Shirow Manga. The films are debateable. I love the first GitS personally. That has more to do with Mamoru Oshii, though. I love his stuff in general. The one thing I think really sets Bleach apart from most other fighting manga are the characters. They're by and large very memorable, and actually GROW during the course of the series. I also find the character designs are tremendous, especially since it has probably the largest cast of characters I've ever seen in a manga. The animation for the show is really swell too.

Bendis is terrible in-continuity, good out of continuity/writing his own stuff.

Last time I went, bout two years ago, the Pixies were playing. Obviously, they're a very popular group in Seattle, and they had just reformed for touring, but it was INSANE. Passes were gone within 30 minutes, I heard. When we left, the line was wrapping ALL around The Seattle Center (which is huge, it's a big complex, not an arena) and starting to go out into the street, an hour before the show started. EDIT: Not like they have great a line-up. Blondie and the Blue Scholars are the only groups I'd like to see. Yellow card? :barf:

I just watched wrath of Khan this weekend. That move kicks so much fucking ass.

Maya Rudolph should have been out of there from day fucking one. She never did ANYTHING funny. I hate Fallon and Sanz, but I can at least remember a couple times they made me laugh. Rudolph was always over-the-top annoying. Sketch shows are a dying art. God, I just watched a couple of eps of Kids in the Hall (Which was a Lorne Michaels show), and I couldn't believe how outrageous and funny it was, 10 years ago. It's the gold standard in my book, but there used to be lots of funny, weird shows. Mr. Show, Upright Citizens' Brigade, The State. Now what do we have? A terrible SNL. Mad TV's on the air, but it's always been incredibly painful to watch. I guess Wonder Showzen. Which aims more to shock than actually be funny.

I hated the Fletch films.

Johnny Depp is too skinny? You realize this is the Joker we're talking about? If anything Heath Ledger's not nearly gaunt enough. He's a decent actor, but I can't really see him pulling off batshit crazy. I agree he'd make a great Dent, though. Now Nicholson wasn't gaunt either, but he's Jack Fuckin' Nicholson. Just watched Cabana Caper last night. It's not even the best episode, by a long shot, but it made me miss the show. The thing about this show, is yes, it was really funny, but it just had a sense of whimsy and fun, you could tell they were thrilled just to be doing it.

Starship Troopers 2 was just terrible. The only redeeming quality it had was Kimber from Nip/Tuck getting nekkit. The original is enjoyable cheese.
