again, if thre's anyone who can make Venom as fucking sinister/ as the comics is Raimi. I was hoping to have him be the feature of SM4. I'm obviouslyt a fan of the Venom character, even if it went to shit after four , maybe five appearances. "Hey, can Pete come out and play?" I'm a huge venom fan. Or used to be before Marvel decided to take a shit turn the around moment he became popular. A) Well, he looks great. The classsic black Spidey outfit is so badass. The BIG black spider is killer. B) His vigilante on steroids approach was great. He followed the one rule that makes super-villains great: He believed he was SO right. Spidey is so evil that I will kill any innocent in my path. Badly. I will also save babies. Spidey? I know who you are. Aunt May, Mj? Yeah I know who they are but you wound me to insinuate I'd hurt them I'd do them no wrong but YOU. You Evil shit. KILL. C) He looks great. (Reiteration) As Bags draws him, he's one of the coolest looking villains in the world. D) His desire to absolutely terrify Spidey was great. He was oringinally drawn looking like a meathead, but he was always in Spidey's head. He seriously fucked with and tormented him. Parker always reacted with absolute, abject DREAD when Venom was out. He's such a nasty bastard. And he has the priority fang (No one will get this but Anya)

I liked Punch Drunk Love quite a bit. I hated Bruce Almighty SO much. I think it's a rental.

The Katrina thing is far more vile in my book. Everyone knew that there were terrorist threats to the US. No one could have predicted 9/11. It was unprecedented, and though the 'my goat Bob' or whatever thing shows himseld as incompetent, we already knew that. The Katrina thing shows he LIED. He could've said, there were higher priorities, we made a mistake... He lied about that shit. Forget selective intelligence, whatever. I'm outraged by Nagin just as much, and everyone who came before him. Everyone knew that city could be fucked. When a hurricane missed us, and it was just a tropical storm, I slep in my fucking car on the second level of the Tulane parking garage. I called my parents. They laughed at me and said I was overreacting. Then the Hurricane hit. I'm lucky not to have been buried in two feet of feces.

And the sequence where they expirement on him to the Pink Floyd-ish music is fucked. Also Tongpu's demise is fantastic. Mushroom Hunting, the Alien parody, The second ep, all are great. I can think of maybe one episode I've only watched once, "Wild Horses" which is pretty dull. Also the one with Cowboy Andy is pretty funny the first time, but really loses its appeal.

Agreed, (there's a reason he was SW1) although I think Keenan definitely has a ton of charisma, though no range. I can't ever hate on someone who co-wrote "Hollywood Shuffle" though. I love that fucking movie.

Some of the Chono-wear is great. It probably would look good on no one except Chono, though.

I think Tough Enough clued in 99.9% of wrestling fans that wrestling is fake, if they didn't already know. I'm sure there are plenty of very young children that think it's real. I don't think of the problem as being identifiable as a wrestling fan, it's a matter of aethetics. Most WWE shirts are just really busy and ugly. I've rocked a banana-yellow 'Hulkamania' shirt a couple times. Of course, Hulk is kitsch at this point. The best 'busy' shirt was the Sandman "Blood Sweat and Beers" Budweiser log knock-off. Can't find a picture of it online, but it was sweet.

Ballad of Fallen Angels. The best music arguably of the series is contained here a badass fight scene, some of the best visuals of the series. Hard Luck woman: A very plot-heavy episode, it goes from quite comic to very tragic. Plus, it's one of only a few times that Spike gets the living shit kicked out of him.

Just read Ebert's review. He just sounds like a sour old fart who wanted fun and camp. He's not being sarcastic. Why not put the fucking Super-cat in there too? Christ, this coming from the guy who wrote Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, and said X-Men 3 was the best of the series. He's gone senile.

Burton's treatment was awesome: Zombie Superman? Edward Superhands? Or Venom Superman? YOU be the judge.

The PBS/NPR/NEA thing is such a rabble-rousing issue when it accounts for such a tiny tiny amount of the budget. If five bucks of the thousands and thousands of dollars I pay the feds go to Masterpiece Theatre or a starving artist instead of a fucking cruise missle, GOOD. And EVERYONE knew that NO was fucked if a hurricane came its way. I remember reading articles about it while I lived in NO. It's as much a part of the corrup local gov'ts fault, but this 'no one knew what could happen!' shit infuriates me. In fact, I think a lot of the data from the Scientific American or Nat'l Geographic or whatever article I read came from the Army Corp of Engineers. There's a straight up lie you can attribute to Bush. "No one knew what could happen!" Fuck you. that's why everyone with a dollar to spare left the city whenever a hurricane came calling, is it?

Internationally, Supes is definitely the most famous, recognizable character. I'd say out of the actual comic-buying fans, Bats and Spidey are most popular. Or in other words, they have the most dedicated following, though this isn't really quantifiable.

From that shot, his costume looks pretty killer. Looks like a death's head with... Goggles. At this point I haven't been spoiled at all, and haven't been looking for them, it's all speculation. I still think Harry Osbourne should lead into Topher as Venom in the next movie. Harry Osbourne's going to die this movie. This is speculation, but you know it's going to happen, in tragic faction, from what we've seen in the movies and comics, it just makes snese. If the last shot is Venom standing over a fallen Harry, that would be fucking perfect. What I'm wondering is if they'll completely switch the Gwen and MJ characters, and have MJ die. They're already seeming to go with the USM 'brainy janey' vs the sexy, troubled Gwen Stacey route. Either way, I hope Tobey and Sam commit to another one or two films. They've been so tremendous. And the money has to be decent. As in record-setting every time. Aside: Is it true they're making a FF with/vs Silver surfer movie? I saw a poster for it, had no ss, may have just been a mock-up.

Bleach might be the end-all/be-all of action animes, in the vein of DBZ or Flam of Recca. I'll put Bebop and Escaflowne and maybe Champloo ahead of it every time. Tell a story with little wasted time. With SMJ, Slayers Next, Ranma's first couple of seasons, I just prefer humor with my anime. Bleach had that at first, but has lost a lot of it, though it's not really to its detriment. Tylor is the best of both worlds, even if it isn't my favorite of all time. I also do like a good ending. Escaflowne, Tylor and Bebop all have terrific endings, which probably prejuduces me. SMJ does too.

Oh, and for those who have seen it. is it ever made clear whether it takes place afte Superman 1 or 2?

Are all the Imax releases 3-D? That has to be trying after 2.5 hours. I think I remember captain EO being headache inducing, and that was what? 45 minutes? half an hour? Just plain Imax is good enough for me. I saw Goblet of Fire in Imax and it was great. Though my leg cramped 10 minutes before the movie ended, and I had to grit my teeth. 3+ hours in a seat basically designed for a kid when you're 6'4 is not fun.
