I smoke, and have been for a few years. If I buy or bum a few Marlboro Reds when I'm out, the next day, my throat hurts, and it's fucking packed full of phlegm. Then there's Winstons, which just make your throat hurt the second you drag on them. Don't know what's up with that. In terms of Menthols, Marlboro Milds are where it's at. Those little motherfuckers are tasty.

Moreover, why did it view Locke as a threat later in season 1? Was it because he knew of the hatch?

Carson Palmer's injury could be career threatening

With NFL teams, they usually have very clear-cut football philosophies, differing by coach, and players usually stick around for a number of years. But man, baseball teams are often completely different after two years, who can even form an attachment to a team? The Yanks don't go to the WS and immediately Yankees fans are boo-hooing and demanding the firing of every player and coach on the team. I don't see that often with NFL fans, only occasionally for coaches, and that's often well-deserved. -
God, who starts off smoking Marlboro Reds?

Gumbo or jambalaya soup are wonderful if made well too. They must be made with okra, not roux, though. Roux is fucking gross. And I imagine okra's a lot better for you. And french onion soup is always good, and I feel more confident ordering it at a place I don't know than chowder. You can get some baaaad chowder, even at some decent restaurants.

I'm just hoping they don't rush his return. I doubt they will. -
WP sounds like a 12-year-old. Honestly. Look at that most recent post. "I know you are but what am I?"

Battle Royale? Just fucking awesome. It's both exhilerating and fucked up. The social commentary isn't nearly as obscure as it is in a Miike film, and the acting's good. Plus Beat Takeshi is awesome in it. He's disturbing, sad, and also absolutely hilarious. I think everyone who has a chance to see it, should. Just don't go in expecting a gore flick anything on par with Miike. The violence isn't even on par with many American action flicks like Robocop or Total Recall, it's just that it's about kids killing kids. Then they should all avoid Battle Royale II, because it sucks. Out of the movies in the 'extreme' genre I've seen (admittedly, not too terribly many) Battle Royale and Oldboy are by far the top of the heap. great directing, COGENT storylines, good acting, and not so nihilistic as to ultimately take you out of the movie. I'd say Ichi the Killer and Dead or Alive were both really impressive stylistically, ultimately frustrating, but worth the time to watch. Audition was a straight-up good movie, but disappointing given its substantial hype. Again, I bet it would have been a lot more effective if I hadn't known it would turn into a horror movie. The telephone-ringing scene is one of the best single shock scenes I've seen in a movie. I didn't like Suicide Circle much, though was pretty amusing, the movie was kind of a slog. Probably not an 'extreme' movie, but Versus kicks all kinds of ass.

I agree. I'd been a Mariners fan since I was about 11-12, and stopped about a year ago. Even when the M's sucked before, you always had Griffey and Randy on the highlight reel, and the team had real cohesion. Then, all those guys left and they had their 116-win season. I went to the game where Ichiro got the hit record, and that was pretty much my goodbye to the M's. They are embarassing to watch, they play every game like a team who doesn't care. They cut Olerud, a longtime success and local boy after half of a lackluster season. So fuck 'em. I don't have the time or inclination to watch a bunch of games for a shitty team anymore. In fact, I just don't watch baseball anymore. I've been a small-time Bengals fan for a while because Dillon was on the team. He's fun to watch and a former UW stud. I was always a Seahawks fan, but their games were the only ones I watched regularly. I became fans of theirs last season when A) they became really fun to watch, B) I got more into football in general because I joined a fantasy league. Does that make me a bandwagon-jumper? Who cares? I've got my one team I'm devoted to, and then I'll watch the teams who have players I like, and exciting play. If you had switched the uniforms on all the players last week, I would have been rooting for the Bengals players in the Steelers uniforms. Sometimes I think that people pick about 6 teams, so that at least one of their teams does well each year, and they can go on and on about how they're real fans. -

Or it could be that since last season they've been the most fun team to watch in the NFL. And people like Palmer and Johnson. -
I dunno, when I go to the General Wrestling folder, it's just fine. Of course, it's a place where people can reminisce about GOOD wrestling, not just bitch about how terrible the WWE is. If a nazi took over, we could finally get the "The WWE Folder: It's a lot like Hitler" thread.

Which were still pretty good! For some reason, I think you'd really like Cibo Matto. d/l Viva La Woman! and if you like that, Stero Type A is pretty good.

Easy schedule or no, the Seahawks have a very good D, and a disgusting O line. I can't see the 'Skins stopping Alexander, or Hass, who finally has all his receivers, and is always on fire from December on. Washington does have a good D, but Shaun is really unstoppable this season. Even when he gets picked up at the line of scrimmage, he squirts ahead for 4 yds.

I think vanilla coke is fucking disgusting. Cherry coke is good, though. So this will probably be mediocre.

Yeah... I don't really know why The Birds creeped me out. With Ichi the Killer and Suicide Circle, they aren't scary in the least, and they're a kick while you're watching them, but afterwards you're just like "what did I just watch?" Oddly enough, Audition didn't really do much for me, outside of the incredibly awesome (and very short) phone ringing scene. Probably because I knew beforehand it was supposed to be a scary movie.

Clerks will probably always be my favorite KS movie. That said, I've enjoyed all his stuff besides Jersey Girl (which I haven't seen). Though Mallrats is just a funny, entirely forgettable movie. As is J&SBSB.

You need to do olympic lifts, WP. Squatting ain't shit compared to a good Clean and Jerk, or Snatch. And I'm not just saying that because the names are dirty.

Clamato with a package of frozen succotash thrown in! Yeah, Chowders are the king of soups. I personally think that crawfish chowder is the best, though you can't really get it around here.

I smoke a couple packs a week. If they really wanted to make a difference, they'd make it illegal, but local governments make far too much money off the shit. And apparently Damaramu's such a terrible person that he's lost the right to be facetious.

People arguing about who's the biggest sports fan is just a nerdy as people arguing about comic books or D&D. Guess what? I won't watch the Mariners again until they prove they can be a .500 team! I have better things to do than sit through hundreds of hours of terrible baseball. I guess it's to my credit that I've just stopped watching baseball, though. And Czech and I tried to make this thread so nice, too.

^Tries too hard. Hi, my name's Dave Foley, and, uh, something you might not know about me is that .. I have a good attitude towards menstruation. That's right, I'm the guy! The guy with a good attitude towards menstruation! Oh, I know a lot of men are made uncomfortable by this monthly miracle. But not me. No, I embrace it. Embrace it the way the way some men embrace the weekend! Why I anticipate it the way a child anticipates Christmas! Did you know that, uh, in alot of native Indian cultures, menstruating woman were forced to leave the village, lest their *powerful* magic should overwhelm the Shaman? If I were a Shaman, I wouldn't be so competitive. I'd be more open and giving. I'd be a shaman with... a good attitude towards menstruation! 'Cause after all, what is it? a cluster of blood vessels, awaiting a fertilized egg. Providing a safe warm place for that egg to grow. And if a life does not occur, the whole thing is flushed away, and the cycle begins again. Now is that anything to be ashamed of or disgusted by? No, this is the nesting stuff of humanity! That's why the woman I shall love will be able to menstruate as fully and freely as she desires. Even if her monthly flow should build in intensity to a raging rust-colored torrent! An unbridled river of life giving blood flowing from between her legs! An awesome cataract plunging off the edge of our couch. I wouldn't be fazed! No, no, even if coureur de bois would come up stream, battling the rapids, and singing a 'jaunty song'! I would take no offense, rather I would ford across that mighty womanly river, and fetch herbal tea and Pamprin. And then I would mop her brow and admire her fecundity. For I...Have A Good Attitude....Towards MENSTRUATION!

I predict: Seattle Denver Indy (though Pittsburgh wouldn't shock me) Carolina Either way, a good week of games!

The Shield, season 5, official thread
Special K replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
1 3 2 4 Glenn Close was great, but I couldn't invest in the character, since I knew she'd be gone after the season. Nothing really happened in Season 4. And a lot of the work they did in Season 3 in building tension in the Strike Team was killed in Season 4. The season actually went backwards. Forest Whitaker's character is an instant winner, though. He's so fucking sleazy and shifty. You can't even get a lock on him. If this is the last season, I want Dutch to get some kind of happy ending. I love Dutch. -
You, know, you're right! When the Bengals lose their best player and have to change things out on the fly, they're quite mediocre! I'm sure it wasn't a blow losing the best QB statistically this season on the second play. His stats weren't in any way indicative of reality. He just has good WRs. THat 66 yd pass on his first play? Lucky. He hadn't been doing that all season. Asshole.
