And Sox lose to the Tigers in 13. Brandon Webb has replaced Brian Fuentes on the NL All-Star team.
-
Brian Fuentes is out of the All Star Game.
-
They released the rotation for the series after the ASG and Wakefield's pitching Tuesday, followed by Dice-K and Gabbard (I think). I'd like Ortiz to skip the game as well. I definitely don't need to see him wear himself out in the Derby again. Wakefield pitches Thursday. They released the rotation on the assumption that Beckett will pitch Tuesday in the ASG - I'm sure he will whether he starts or not - he would then pitch for Boston Sunday on regular rest.
-
Tuesday would also be the scheduled day for Beckett. Just sayin'.
-
Since this hasn't really been discussed yet, who do you think is likely to start the ASG? Here are the options, not in order of likelihood, simply the list of starters going: AL: Josh Beckett (12-2, 3.44), Dan Haren (10-2, 2.20), John Lackey (11-5, 3.04), Gil Meche (5-6, 3.28), C.C. Sabathia (12-3, 3.58), Johan Santana (10-6, 2.75), Justin Verlander (10-3. 3.14) NL: Cole Hamels (10-4, 3.72), Roy Oswalt (7-5, 3.52), Jake Peavy (9-3, 2.19), Brad Penny (10-1, 2.39), Ben Sheets (10-4, 3.41), Chris Young (8-3, 2.00) Much as I like Beckett and would love to see him start, I also like Verlander, and think Haren's got a great shot as well. NL is surely Peavy or Penny. And it's worth noting that Okajima is the only setup man on either league's All-Star roster.
-
15-4 Sox. 12 wins for Beckett, 5 hits for Lowell, a grand slam for Coco Crisp, and an ugly-looking collision at first place that sent Dioner Navarro to the medics.
-
Nope. Chances look good that Okajima will make it though.
-
Dice-K picks up win #10 with 8 shutout innings and 9 Ks. Lugo breaks out of an 0-for-33 slump, going 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs.
-
Red Sox win 7-3 with help from a 3-run triple from Eric Hinske. Jacoby Ellsbury continues to impress with his speed, notching his first career stolen base and then advancing two bases on a wild pitch to score the first run for Boston.
-
Yeah, Lugo's really pissing me off. Anybody catch Jacoby Ellsbury's major league debut? 1-for-4 but beat out a throw in the second at-bat for a nice-looking infield hit. Good speed on this one.

nothing seems to have been officially released by him. No mention of it on his web site as of yet J.R. seemed to make it clear on Raw that Jericho had been informed. It wouldn't surprise me to see something soon. -

Tonight was the first I've watched wrestling since Federline showed up. What gimmick post? I didn't post to be mocked. I posted to express my feelings as a lot of people have. -
Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released

I feel sick right now. Chris Benoit was my very favorite in the business. God, he was the model and inspiration for the Longdogger Pete character a few scrolls down in the SWF. A veteran performer at the back end of his career who (almost) never won the big matches, but came away leaving the fans happy and genuinely earning their respect. Respect is the first word I would associate with Benoit, and the same was true of Pete. I feel like a part of me has died. Until the details are officially confirmed, I don't want to think about how this may have happened - my mind is simply not ready to go down that dark place. I'm going to turn in tonight thinking about the man I've admired for many years, the great matches he's been a part of and the legacy he's left behind. I don't think I'll be sleeping much tonight. -

OMG. I feel like I've just been punched in the gut. First Eddie and now this. There just... aren't any more words right now. -
Here I was expecting a bad Paris Hilton gag. I feel sort of cheated.
-
I can't stand those guys.
-
Smash.
-
Schilling hits the DL today and the BoSox give OF David Murphy a look see until Tuesday, when we'll need a fifth starter and go for Gabbard or Lester.

The possible answers to this question could form their own thread.

I was close.
