BUFFER Making his way down the aisle, from Brooklyn, New York, weighing in at 235 pounds! He is arguably the most controversial figure in OAOAST history! And tonight, after nearly a year and a half, he looks to reclaim his spot atop the mountain. Ladies and gentlemen, the challenger, himself a FORMER Heavyweight champion of the WORRRRRRRRRRRLD..."RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRECKLESSSSSSSSSSSS" DRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREK SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNEEEEE EEE!!!!! COLE Drek Stone, who lost the OAOAST World title nearly 17 months ago at AngleMania IV. This is his first shot at the belt since that event! COACH And the ironic part is that he lost the belt to Axel, who then lost it to Hoff! And those three are very close associates now! Drek slowly walks to the ring, and climbs in, giving shit to various fans. He pounds his chest, and fireworks explode from all four corners. He then raises his arms in the air, as the music dies down, and Magnum Opus: Father Padilla Meets the Perfect Gnat/Howling at the Moon hits and Alfdogg makes his way to the ring, getting a loud ovation. BUFFER His opponent...weighing in at 240 pounds...he is the defending TWO-TIME Heavyweight champion of the WORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRLD...ALFDOGG! Alf makes his way to the ring, and climbs in and poses on the buckles. He then hops down, and hands his belt to the referee, then meets Drek in mid-ring as the referee explains the rules. COACH Alf, you've just taken that belt off for the last time! The referee holds the belt up, then calls for the bell. *DING DING DING* The fans cheer for a few seconds, then take in the staredown. COLE Alf's really been looking forward to this, after some of the heinous acts pulled by Drek Stone over the last few weeks! Alf and Drek spend a few seconds talking trash to each other, then back off and circle the ring. Camera flashes go off as the two tie up, and Drek backs Alf into a corner. The referee counts for a break, and Drek releases, then shoves Alf in the chest. COACH That's it, let him know who the man is! They go in for another tieup, and Drek takes Alf down with a fireman's carry! However, Alf reaches up with the legs and grabs Drek in a headscissors! Drek struggles for a few seconds, then kips up to escape! Drek walks around the ring arrogantly as the crowd boos. Alf gets up, and a third tie-up is made, with Alf going behind, and taking Drek up, then down to the mat with a rear waistlock. Alf rides Drek for a bit, then Drek gets to his feet and switches! COLE And a nice standing switch by Drek, as he's looked sharp early on! Drek hangs on to Alf, as Alf walks around the ring, then moves towards the ropes and takes Drek through the middle to the floor! COLE But a nice escape by Alf! COLE And tempers flaring already! Alf backs Drek into a corner, and Drek ducks through the ropes as the referee backs Alf off. The referee turns and admonishes Drek, then Drek ties up with Alf again. He wrings Alf's arm, but Alf quickly reverses. Drek drops down and takes Alf to the mat with a drop toehold! Drek then hops forward and grabs a side headlock. However, as he forces Alf down to the mat, Alf manages to slip free and chicken wing his arm on the mat! COACH Well, they're keeping it clean early on, Cole, but I don't think it'll last long. COLE I don't think so, either. Alf lets Drek up, and backs him into the ropes. Drek reverses an Irish whip, and ducks down, allowing Alf to execute a sunset flip! 1... 2.. Kickout! Drek charges Alf, and is taken over in an armdrag! COLE And Alf looking like the better technician early on! COACH And the last part of that sentence is the key, Cole, early on! Drek gets to his feet, and delivers an elbow to the side of Alf's face! He then goes to the ropes, and takes Alf down with a shouldercheck. Alf flips over as Drek goes to the ropes, then gets up and leapfrogs Drek, before dropping down and catching him with a monkey flip! Alf then gets up, measures Drek, and clotheslines him to the floor! COLE And Alf taking the early advantage in the main event of AngleSlam! Drek takes a seven-count, then climbs back into the ring. He comes back and shoves Alf once again, then Alf pays him back with a slap in the face of his own! COLE Alf returning the favor from earlier in the match! Alf then rolls up Drek from behind... 1... 2... Kickout! Alf immediately grabs Drek's arm and bars it. COACH And you notice Alf still keeping it wrestling here, despite Drek's antics, and I think he's being smart. Normally I'd have a hard time betting against Alf in a fight, but I don't think he wants a fight with Drek Stone! Drek gets to his feet and back Alf into the ropes. He pushes Alf off, and Alf ducks a clothesline. Drek drops down, then hops up, backs into the ropes, and catches Alf with a high knee! COLE And a great flying knee from Drek Stone! Drek gets up slowly and stomps away at Alf, stomping him all the way to the side of the ring until he falls off the apron. Drek follows him out, and delivers some more stomps, before picking up Alf and ramming his back into the STEEL~! post! COACH And is Drek dangerous on that floor! Drek rolls Alf back inside, then picks him up and drills him with a backbreaker! He then rolls Alf over, and applies a Camel Clutch! COLE Submission hold applied by Drek Stone! Drek wrenches back as Alf tells the referee no. Drek the pulls the hair and talks trash to Alf as the referee admonishes him. Drek pulls back, then pulls the hair once again, as Alf starts to get his knees under him! COLE But Alf coming out of this! As Alf gets to his feet, Drek changes to a chinlock, but Alf delivers an elbow to the gut! A second! A third! Drek attempts to suplex Alf back in, but Alf slips behind the back and grabs him! Drek quickly goes behind, and hits a German suplex! 1... 2... NO! Kickout! COLE And Drek INCHES away from regaining the title right there! Drek picks up Alf, and delivers a bodyslam, followed by a fistdrop! Then a second, and a cover... 1... 2... Kickout! Drek picks up Alf, and backs him into the ropes. Alf reverses the whip, and goes for a tilt-a-whirl, but Drek comes down on his feet, then scoops up Alf, and plants him with a TOMBSTONE~! COACH YEAH! You've got him, Drek! COLE What's Drek doing, he should be covering right now! Not that I'm complaining! COACH You just do your job as an announcer, Cole, and don't play favorites! COLE Well, what were you just doing? Meanwhile, Drek comes off the top for a SOMERSAULT LEGDROP~!!! ...but Alf rolls out of the way! COLE And nobody home! Alf crawls once again, and makes the ropes! The referee breaks. Drek pulls Alf out to apply it again, bending down to talk a little trash, when suddenly, Alf delivers an uppercut, knocking Drek on his back, then Alf sits up while still holding onto Drek's left leg, and applies his own SHARPSHOOTER~!!! COLE And what a reversal by Alf, and now it's Drek caught in the SHARPSHOOTER! COACH Come on, Drek, get to those ropes! Meanwhile, the trophy presentation is being set up in the ring, as Strutter and Pantera drape themselves in Canadian flags. TONY Well, a tremendous tag team match, Team Heyross was at their absolute best, but in the end, the Canadian team certainly proved that the tournament committee made the right choice making them the #1 seed. Right now, let's go up to "Mean" Gene Okerlund for the trophy presentation! OKERLUND (in ring) All right, thank you, Tony Schiavone! A tremendous tag team tournament has come to a close, 32 teams began, and now, one remains! Congratulations to Ken Pantera and Felix Strutter, Team Canada, you are the best tag team in the WORLD! *Most of the crowd is booing, as Felix Strutter is handed the mic.* STRUTTER Thanks, Mean Gene. We knew all along we'd be standing here right now, but we wanted to prove it to everyone else in the world. No one thought we'd beat the American team, thought they should have had our spot, but we proved them all wrong. Now everyone knows who is the best team in the world. *crowd boos* PANTERA That's right, Felix. Adversity has always brought the best out of us, and we've dealt with more of it over the last month than any two wrestlers in the world. As another wave of confetti comes down from the ceiling, that's it from me, let's go back down to Tony! TONY Thank you, Gene...what lies ahead for these two teams, Jess? JESSE Well, Tony, obviously the Canadian team has gained the attention of the OAOAST brass, those guys in the front offices are going to make a hard push for them. I think the turning point in this match was when Rick Heyross jumped onto the apron, and Quentin Benjamin collided with him. That match could have gone either way up to that point. TONY And as we saw, Quentin Benjamin extremely upset after the match. JESSE But you still have to give the Canadians credit, of course, they matched Team Heyross hold-for-hold throughout this whole match, but as is usually the case, one miscalculation led to the end. TONY It was an excellent tournament, congratulations once again to Felix Strutter and Ken Pantera, the winners of the Tag Team World Cup! For Jesse "the Body" Ventura and "Mean" Gene Okerlund, I'm Tony Schiavone! Let's go back to...

The Jamaicans were the seventh seed in the European bracket, but scored victories over Italy, Denmark, and finally France in order to qualify for this show and the Final Four! A prediction, Coach? JESSE Absolutely, both these teams have very similar styles, you've got a high-flyer and a power wrestler on each side! Since being in Detroit, Rasheed hasn't been a problem amongst his team, and has had no trouble with the law. That's what I was referring to when I said malcontent. As long as he continues that trend, he can burn out from sunrise until sunset for all I care. Same with Damon Stoudamire. It's not a FACT that Randolph can't turn out the same way.

I don't feel sorry for Chris Webber in the slightest. He could have opted out this summer if he wanted another chance to win a title. Instead, he chose to "suffer" with his $20 million. Fuck him. As for the trade...come on, how do you not take that if you're the Sixers. Raef's deal is only a year longer than Webber's, and just because Randolph is a malcontent in Portland doesn't mean he'll be one everywhere. A change of scenery may do him good. Look at Rasheed Wallace. Iverson and Randolph, with Raef and Korver to spread everything out, that's killer. And how about driving the lane and finding Dalembert AND Raef both waiting on you?

Problems with the board? We can start with just general asshole-ishness all around. I don't mean to sound arrogant, but you'll notice that there are numerous people who like me as a poster and would support me as a mod. You know why that is (at least one of the reasons)? Because I don't treat it as the eighth deadly sin to conduct myself like a normal human being and attempt to have intelligent discussion without being insulting. The WWE folder is obviously the worst offender of this...there's just certain wrestlers who are perceived as immune to criticism, or vice versa. I can't really put it into words, but I think a lot of people would agree with my general point. God help you if you were to go into that folder with anything nice to say about John Cena or Randy Orton. CC will warn people once in a while, but rarely does it atcually work. Choken One, a multiple-time PBP, is considered one of the most intelligent posters in that folder. Mull that one over for a while. Something has to be done about wildpegasus. He either needs to be told to quit his gimmick bullshit, or banished to NHB or banned altogether if he's not going to. He's told more than one poster that he's just acting like a dipshit to draw attention to himself, which is the very definition of trolling. Something needs to be done about EHME, as well. He doesn't bother me as much as he does most other people, but going back to what I mentioned above, he's just generally insulting towards people. He complains about Rant and others being "racist", yet he throws out homophobic slurs like candy. I don't think a banning is necessary, really, but he just needs to tone it down. He's okay to talk to in the sports folder and stuff, to me at least. Other than that, just all the general cliqueish behavior and self-referential "humor" that I really shouldn't have to elaborate on. And gimmicks. I'll fess up to owning a few gimmicks, but as long as they're kept where they don't derail actual discussion, I see no problem with them. EDIT: Also, I brought up my concerns with the mods here at the Pit, and the general consensus was "the mods aren't the problem, it's the posters." Well, if the mods refuse to take action agaist said posters, is that not also a problem?

    NBA Offseason Thread

Harrington is very close with Antonio Davis, and said Davis told him he'd like to come back to the Pacers. Donnie Walsh said he'd be interested in bringing him back. Davis said it's unlikely he'll play another season, but if he does, he'd like to go to the Pacers, or the Bulls. Doug Christie is trying to make a comeback, and three teams have shown interest in him, according to HoopsHype. Dajuan Wagner has drawn interest from five teams. This one came from the Philadelphia Inquirer, so presumably the Sixers are one of them.

    Couple minor forum changes

NHB doesn't need a mod, they just need to make sure the stuff in there doesn't spill over onto the rest of the board. Everything should be allowed in there, except for all the prejudicial insults and stuff such as scat and the like.

Someone at WDI had that Dunkin' Donuts pic in their sig for a while. I want to say it was Parka, but I can't remember for sure. Good stuff.
