Probably Cleveland. I'm not really sold on them, I think any of those three teams would have a good shot at knocking them off.

WAS: 41-40 (@ DET) IND: 40-41 (vs ORL) CHI: 40-41 (@ TOR) MIL: 40-42 Tiebreakers: Milwaukee has tiebreak over Indiana and Chicago. Indiana has tiebreak over Chicago. Chicago has tiebreak over Washington. Washington has tiebreak over Indiana. Scenarios: If all three teams win, seeding would go WAS, IND, CHI, MIL. If only Washington and Chicago win, seeding would go WAS, CHI, MIL, IND. If only Indiana and Chicago win, seeding would go CHI, IND, WAS, MIL. If only Chicago wins, seeding would go CHI, WAS, MIL, IND. If Indiana wins and Chicago loses, seeding would go WAS, IND, MIL, CHI, regardless of Washington's result. If Indiana and Chicago both lose, seeding would go WAS, MIL, IND, CHI, regardless of Washington's result. I have a bad feeling that we're going to end up with the Pistons in the first round. EDIT: Also, Seattle @ Sacramento should be starting any time, if it hasn't already. If the Kings win, a Laker loss tommorrow would give them the 7 seed.

I'm pretty sure he meant Smush Parker, not Tony.

Bucks @ Wizards is getting ready to start, for those of you rich fuckers who have League Pass. I'll have a Yahoo page up for it. Bucks clinch the 5 seed with a win.
-
I'd just recently been wondering what happened to Wagner...he was a really good scorer his rookie year, then seemed to fall off the face of the earth once LeBron came along. I didn't realize Keon Clark was out of the league, either.
-
Bucks @ Wizards tommorrow is going to be crucial in determining the final positions in the bottom half of the East. The Pacers can't get the 5th seed, but other than that, literally ANY matchup is possible in the first round. Memphis @ LA Clippers tommorrow, as well. Should be fun to see which team does the better job of tanking. If the Clippers lose, they're guaranteed the matchup with Denver.
-
Spurs clinch the top seed in the West.
-
I tend to agree with that. There's no reason for 7-game series in the first round, it's ridiculous. Sometimes there's 3 or 4 days in between games in a single series.
-
The Pistons sure picked a good fucking night to tank a game. Now we lose the tiebreakers against Washington *and* the Bucks.
-
Pacers are beating the everloving shit out of the Raptors. If the Magic hold on against the Bulls, we'd be guaranteed at least the 7 seed. We also need the Bucks to lose to the Pistons, or we lose the tiebreaker on them. EDIT: We just broke 100 with 2 minutes left in the third.

Brief predictions: Pistons in a sweep. I actually like Washington in this series. I've done a total 180 on Gilbert Arenas since he went to the Wiz...there's simply no denying that this guy's one of the elite players in the league. I think he and LeBron offset each other, and then, I don't think the Cavs have an answer for Antawn Jamison, either. And if they get Jared Jeffries involved, you got a guy 6-10 who can play the 2, 3, or 4, and how do they match up against that? And how healthy is Larry Hughes going to be? Wizards in 6. Heat in 6, but not before the Bucks make them sweat a little bit. This isn't a jobber match in the least. Nets in 6. Jermaine has returned to top form, just in time for Peja to start tapering off. Stephen Jackson should not be getting more shots than Peja. And for fuck's sake, Tinsley is NOT READY to come back, stick with AJ. I hope Foster's back is feeling better by the end of the week, or this one may not even go the 6 that I have it pegged for. Spurs in 7. I think this series is the best shot at a real big upset, with Duncan and Ginobili both hobbled. I wouldn't be surprised to see Adelman try Artest on Parker a bit, although the Artest-Bowen matchup sounds most intriguing. Mavs in 5. I just don't think Memphis has the experience to really threaten a team like Dallas. Ah, the much discussed series. The Suns will win...it won't be a sweep, but I don't think LA will ever pose a serious threat, either. Probably 5 or 6 games. Clippers in 6. Brand will feast on the walking wounded frontcourt of the Nuggets, and I just can't think of anything the Nuggets can do to offset that.

Just saw this: If the Wolves' first-round pick isn't in the top 10, it goes to the Clippers as part of the Cassell/Jaric trade.

I'm not trying to Kobe hate, but can someone tell me when he became this great clutch stopper? He's still the best option to guard Nash down the stretch, I'll grant him that, but he's had multiple All-defense appearances, and I'm just not seeing it. Count me in on the Bynum bandwagon. I've really liked what little I've seen of him this year, plus I don't think I've ever seen a guy that big at that age in my life. Vujajic: Haven't seen much of him either, but what I have seen is that he has a decent enough outside shot. I'll take King's word on his speed and defense, but does he get enough PT to where it will really mean something? And get off Eddie House already. He's just another Atkins/Damon Jones...if he's not making his threes, he ain't shit.

The Lakers, technically, *could* still play Dallas in the 1-8 matchup, as well. But that would require Dallas and Sacramento both winning as well as the Lakers losing and the Spurs going 0-2.
-
Kings clinch as well with Utah's loss, meaning Shareef Abdur-Rahim is going to the playoffs for the first time in his career. A win and a Laker loss would move the Kings into 7th.

Playoff stuff: Tiebreaker Key 1. Season series 2. Division record (if tied teams are in same division) 3. Conference record 4. Record against playoff opponents in conference 5. Record against playoff opponents in opposite conference 6. Better point differential between offense and defense East 1. Detroit (64-17, clinched homecourt throughout playoffs) 2. Miami (52-28, clinched #2 seed) 3. New Jersey (49-31, clinched #3 seed) 4. Cleveland (49-32, clinched #4 seed) 5. Washington (40-40, clinched playoff berth) 6. Milwaukee (40-41, clinched playoff berth) 7. Indiana (40-41, clinched playoff berth) 8. Chicago (40-41, clinched playoff berth) Tiebreakers: Cleveland currently owns the #4 tiebreaker over New Jersey. Milwaukee owns the #1 tiebreaker over Washington, and #2 tiebreakers over Indiana and Chicago. Indiana owns the #2 tiebreaker over Chicago. Washington owns the #3 tiebreaker over Indiana. Chicago owns the #1 tiebreaker over Washington. West 1. San Antonio (62-19, clinched #1 seed) 2. Phoenix (52-28), clinched #2 seed) 3. Denver (44-36, clinched #3 seed) 4. Dallas (60-21, clinched playoff berth) 5. Memphis (47-33, clinched playoff berth) 6. LA Clippers (46-34, clinched playoff berth) 7. LA Lakers (44-37, clinched playoff berth) 8. Barring a miracle, the Bucks are going to lose, too, so at least we don't fall all the way back to 7th.
-
We just couldn't win them all, could we. Philly lost, though, which means the Pacers and Bucks both clinch.

Next year's draft order (based on regular season record): 1. Cartman 2. Dangerous A 3. Deep Thought 4. bravesfan 5. MarvinisaLunatic 6. nogoodnick 7. bob barron 8. Cena's Writer 9. Cuban Linx 10. Alfdogg 11. razazteca 12. Will Scarlet 13. Krankor 14. TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 15. Kingofthe909 16. Precious Roy When we start next season, I'll give you guys another chance to decide on your keepers, since some good players have become available with the teams that have dropped out. I'm wavering on this myself. EDIT: Keep in mind also that if we end up doing another madness round, it will be drawn at random rather than based on records.

Would you guys be up for doing TSM awards for the NBA? I was thinking we could do two awards a week, and you PM your top 5 candidates to me (in order) and I'd add them up, scoring NBA-style (I think it goes 10-7-5-3-1). We tried this a couple years ago, and it didn't really work out, I think mainly because I tried to get all the awards in at once, but I think if we just did one every few days, it would work out a lot better. Here's the awards Coach of the Year Most Improved Defensive Player of the Year Sixth Man of the Year Rookie of the Year MVP All-NBA Teams All-Rookie Teams All-Defensive Teams Tell me what you think. I think we'll just finish up the rest of the regular season in this thread, instead of starting a new one for three or four days.
