As previously mentioned, the CBA was *finally* ratified Saturday, and the signings will start on Tuesday. The deadline for the amnesty clause waivers is August 15.

OK, I have a hotmail address too, and I don't have trouble posting. What happened here.

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/spor...938_kemp24.html I posted this in the Offseason thread, then thought about it awhile and decided this was worth its own topic. The linked article is about Shawn Kemp's comeback attempt. I skimmed through the article and looked at some of the pictures, and he looks better than he has since the lockout of 1998. In the article, it says that the Cavs were worried about Kemp having a heart attack when he showed up after the lockout, but in his two years there, he still averaged around 19 points and nine rebounds per game. Then he was traded to Portland and his minutes dropped drastically (about 16 minutes per in two seasons) and only averaged about 6 points and 4 rebounds (which still translates to 18/12 per 48 minutes). In Orlando in 2003, he was a part-time starting center averaging 7 points and almost 7 rebounds per game. I remember him that year looking not so small even when standing next to someone like Shaq, but still showing some occasional flashes of the old Kemp around the basket. Judging from recent pictures of his conditioning, I think it's worth a shot, if for just a one-year deal to see how it works out. What do you guys think?

Juan Dixon to Portland Link~

Acutally, Stoudamire is a FA and the Rockets are his top choice, from the stuff I've read, so it may be your lucky day.

I guess Brown is officially the Knicks' coach now. Link~ Now can we PLEASE shut the fuck up about Larry Brown for a while.

Pacers to sign Jasikevicius

Shawn Kemp was briefly discussed earlier in the thread. Apparently he's working towards a comeback. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/spor...938_kemp24.html He looks to be in as good of shape as he's been since coming back from the lockout, judging from some of the pictures. You guys think he'll get another chance?
-
OK, apparently the Cleveland papers are a bunch of liars and Jasikevicius hasn't agreed to sign with the Cavs yet. They're now saying that he's close to signing with Utah.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2115131 MARK MADSEN gets a five-year deal. Kevin McHale is going crazy.
-
OK. I thought Amare and Yao didn't come until the year after.

credit: ESPN.com (not from Insider) The signings were supposed to begin yesterday.

And coincidentally, the Knicks have both Penny and Tim Thomas's contracts coming off next summer, close to $29 million between the two of them, in a class that's looking to be horribly weak in terms of star power. I guess I'll need a Knick fan to confirm this since I'm going by the same site, but I'm fairly sure I'm right on this one.

HoopsHype really needs to update some of their shit. They don't have any of the guys filled in who signed extensions this year. I could have easily seen Lewis getting the max had he actually been a FA next summer.

I did some more research, and it appears you're right. So wow, that makes it even worse.
