I have a Cracker Barrel 10 minutes from my house. That's not just a south thing.

Rumors are the Bulls may talk to Tom Izzo about their coaching vacancy.
-
Brendan Haywood speaks.

I know, I know, it seems silly and annoying, but I really think it's ultimately necessary, especially with a large community that has a number of notable posters airing concerns surrounding possible management bias. Writing up formal rules will save you a lot of time and frustration down the line by circumventing any claims of selective enforcement. FWIW, we have been working on a actual rules list the last couple days.

How about bringing the ABA's Oakland Oaks name out of the dust? The Oklahoma Oaks.

I think he's referencing some movie or something there. (note the quotation marks)

A fair point, but Nash and (especially) Stoudemire do the same thing. I guess we're just watching different games here. This was a valid complaint two or three years ago, but I personally haven't seen many bad Manu flops recently. I'll meet you halfway and say that Bell has gotten better about it too. Can't deny this, of course, but between Raja and Shaq, I think that cancels out Bowen. Besides, what good team doesn't have a player that's a little bit cheap? The Lakers have Vujacic. The Jazz have Matt Harpring. The Warriors have Matt Barnes. The Celtics have James Posey. I'm sure there's others I'm forgetting. To be fair, half those fouls on Thomas last night were complete horseshit. And I doubt that he only started acting like this since joining the Spurs.

Hey Alf, wheres the quote in your sig from? David Harrison said it after being suspended for violating the league's drug policy.

Seriously though, the Spurs are not as bad about flopping as they used to be. The only guy off the top of my head that's bad about it is Oberto, and Robert Horry sometimes when he gets in the game. But for every one of those guys, there's a Raja Bell on the Suns, or Boris Diaw. Even Amare has had some really pathetic flops this year. And I would never defend Bruce Bowen's antics, but Raja Bell is basically a marginally more talented version of Bruce Bowen. For every notable Bowen incident, you have Raja Bell clotheslining Kobe Bryant, shoulderchecking Devean George in the spine, elbowing Ron Artest in the throat, or clotheslining Ginobili just tonight. Not to mention that half of the fouls Shaq commits would get your ass kicked on the playground. And the Suns are the absolute worst when it comes to showing up officials. You just have to watch the games to see this.

And the best alternative to that would be the Phoenix Suns, who never whine, flop, or play dirty at all!

Kurt Thomas must have raped Ken Mauer's mom or something.

Are all these TBS sitcoms as lame as they look in the commercials?

I highly doubt anyone used Brendan Haywood to strengthen their argument for the Wizards. Eddie Jordan made some crucial coaching errors in that '06 series which cost them at least a chance at winning a game or two. 1. failing to use a timeout in game 5 with less than a second left 2. ignoring Damon Jones at the end of game 6, who just happened to sub into the game for the first time on the last play Add that to LeBron getting away with an obvious travel before making the game-winning basket in game 3, and that series could have gone either way. I'm not saying the Wizards definitely would have won, but let's not act like the Cavs totally bitchslapped them in that series.

Roy just took the words right out of my mouth. As much as I'd like to pick Utah over the Lakers, the Lakers have just matched up too well against them over the last couple years. And Kobe has had some of his biggest games in that time period against the Jazz. But I think Utah can beat anyone else, aside from the Spurs.

From my understanding, if it hits the top of the backboard and comes back down, then it's not out. Just if it goes over and out of bounds. I assume that applys to all sides of the backboard.

Out of curiosity, Marney, who told you that people were banned for death threats?

Even I will admit that Reggie Miller is a terrible commentator.

And here's the foul in question http://youtube.com/watch?v=m827UUOsN7Y That's obviously a flagrant 2. He just pushed him right out of the air. I wouldn't be surprised if he was suspended for a game, as well.

I'm sorry for complaining about Game 1. Fuck you, Washington.

Another fun SF fact: The original name for Balrog was "Mike Bison", but that was changed in fear of possible legal action with Mike Tyson. Fun stuff with Landon at the start. I was a little confused with the Real Madrid/booing reference at the start, but the I realized Landon was from Barcelona, and I suppose that would be a big rivalry. I was expecting a big return for Sly Sommers, but Bohemoth erased any of those thoughts. Dominant performance. Good promo from Jock Mulligan. I could definitely see that ending catchphrase catching on. Another good segment with Leon and Zack. The Angle/Benoit bit at the end was good stuff. Great stuff with Krista & co., as usual. Excellent main event. The suspense between Landon and Cortez continues. MOTN: Rodez vs Cortez LOTN: "Sorry, you've had some stupid on your lips. All gone now!" - Krista

Bigmouth, or Morton Jr. as he's called in the games.

What did Marty do/say this time?
-
The Cavs shot 37 free throws to just 17 for the Wizards. In a game as physical as this one was, that sort of discrepancy is absurd. LeBron alone only took three less than the entire Wizards team.

Looks like I nailed this one so far.

This is all CWM's fault.
