Not so much stuff I heard, I guess; Noah just struck me as being a little cocky during the NCAA tournament, but hey, he and his team backed it up, so I can't complain too much. I don't really see his pro career being as successful, but I'll wait until I pass judgment on him from now on. But IIRC, wasn't there recently something he said as a Bull that created some brief controversy? Czech made some reference to him blaming the fans for something.

Re: TT Solid roleplayer, decent post defender and good outside shooter (when he wants to be, as you said), but also a cocky bastard, which is OK if you're a guy like Kobe who can go out there and back it up on a nightly basis. But I can't stand that from guys like Tim Thomas and Damon Jones, and Joakim Noah will probably end up being the same way, if stuff I've heard about him is true.

If the Clippers can somehow sustain a solid record until Brand comes back, that could be a scary fucking team in the playoffs. I wouldn't mind seeing another showdown with the Suns.

I suppose, but I think if you've got a comfortable lead at any point in the game (my idea of comfortable would probably be about 15 points), you should be content in just running off time and looking for good shots. That's just my opinion, though.

I think it was 31 or 32 when I made that post, and has been around that for much of the 2nd half (26 as of this post). They're not letting time run off the clock at all, they're just getting the rebound and jacking up a three almost every time. Washington's since went on a mini-run, though, and that seems to have stopped now.

I'm not acting like Devin Harris is a little kid. I'm acting like he's giving up about half a foot and about 40 or 50 pounds to his opponent, and is most likely at a disadvantage should an altercation occur. If Barnes wants to pull his wannabe enforcer bullshit, maybe he should try it on someone his size. BTW, if you're watching this Nuggets/Wizards game, take note, this is pretty much a textbook example of a team running up the score.

Matt Barnes is such a fucking bum. Yeah, let's knock down 6-foot-nothing Devin Harris and then stand over him and stare him down. You're a real badass, Matt Barnes.

Damn. After all that work by the referees to keep the Cavs in the game, Deron Williams had to go and ruin it.

How does Cassell keep doing it. Jesus Christ.

Having Harrison and Gonzalez out there probably means less reliance on Addai, and maybe we don't have to rest him after he's run us all the way to the red zone, like on those first few plays of the game. It could very easily have been 14-0 as opposed to 3-0.

Well, the Colts beat the spread, at least.

Same deal as NFL...The weekly threads will be to discuss the week's games, etc., and I'll still post the power rankings in the weekly threads. Discussions that can potentially span over more than a week, though, will go in here. My first question is, which player from this rookie class do you think will go on to have the best career? Overall, this class has been pretty lousy thus far. Tyrus Thomas had a really good first half last night against the Sixers (I turned it off at halftime), and it got me thinking about the rookies and their potential careers. Bargnani, I can't really see being any more than a serviceable role player right now. Morrison, Roy, Thomas and Aldridge, while none may go on to be stars, I think will all have very solid careers. Rudy Gay, as well. Those are probably my top 5 right now. I suppose if I had to choose just one, it would be Morrison.

Michigan State lost to Div-AA Grand Valley State in double-OT today. Will this upset make any factor in the rankings, even though it was exhibition?

Speaking of bitchslappings, what the hell was wrong with the Suns?
-
Let's not forget about that team up in Canada, either. 106-69 over the Nets tonight.

We were really lucky tonight, though. The final score was 87-85, which is right where Pat Riley wants his team playing, score-wise. We only shot 39% from the field. It's good to see that we can still win a game if we have to slow it down, but we really should have run those guys off the floor without Wade out there.
