    NBA Opening week

I'd definitely move Boston down at least 4 or 5 spots until we see them in some actual meaningful games. Golden State at 9 looks kind of weird, but honestly you'd be hard pressed to move any of those other 20 teams into the top 10. As far as Cleveland goes, I suppose I'd give them the benefit of the doubt among the East teams, since they did win the conference. But I don't think they would beat Detroit every time, don't think they'd definitely beat Chicago in a series, or even a healthy Wizards team, which is another one that's ranked pretty low. Houston over Utah is pretty weird, too. I'm sure Houston will be better under Adelman, but Utah did beat them fairly convicingly in the playoffs. I also agree that Toronto should be ahead of the Heat and Magic. In particular, I think the Heat's descent to the bubble and lottery begins this season. I might have Sacramento a few spots higher, too.

In a chat earlier today, Marc Stein mentioned that an Arenas-for-Kobe swap could be a possibility.

Funny you should mention that, he was traded to Minnesota today for a second-round pick.

    NBA Roundtable Discussion

I agree with Rasheed 100%. ESPN Radio leading up to and during the finals, all the discussion had to do with how poor the ratings were and how uninteresting the Spurs were, and how LeBron was saving the NBA by getting to the Finals, because he's a ratings machine, or some other nonsense. I don't know, I've blocked most of it out. I did notice that John Seibel had this weird obsession with pointing out that Michael Redd was a good player, but he wouldn't buy his jersey. He said this on every show for like a week, seriously. That seems to be the basis for most people who get bent out of shape over being denied Yanks/Sox in the playoffs, too. "No one cares about this series outside of (insert small-market city) and (insert small-market city)! This will be the lowest rated series ever!" Tough shit. Basketball and baseball are real sports. Those teams are there (in most cases) because they're the two best teams in the league/conference. That's what you should want out of a legitimate sport. But, oh yeah, being a great team is "boring" now, unless you have a marketable superstar. EDIT: Another example I just remembered: "It's bad for the NBA that Oden & Durant are going to the PNW." Even though Durant could potentially be the player that helps keep the Sonics in Seattle. One of the Sonic fans could probably give more insight on that one, though.

There was a game last year where Blount hit three 3-pointers in a row to force an overtime, I forget who it was against. I would have liked to see that.

Actually, the Barnes pick was changed to Oden. So, Barnes is fair game. Marvin's pick is DeShawn Stevenson.

I really do appreciate the help, kkk, but my record should look like this Kansas City Chiefs (Alfdogg) 3-4 Which means I should be below Porter, as well.
