Honestly...I would root for the Lakers in that series. I would never in a million years admit this to my dad, though, because he would disown me.
-
I want to point out here that while some of my posts may indicate otherwise, I have nothing at all against the Hornets, and if someone has to end the Spurs' run, they would be my first choice out of the remaining teams.
-
I hate the idea that just because a guy's feet are moving that it has to be a foul on the defender. If a guy blatantly creates contact like Pierce did on that play, then it should be a foul on that guy. I have no problem with that call whatsoever. I don't think it's a LeBron thing, I think if the game is in Boston, then they call it a block. Those type of plays are why home court advantage matters. That said, I do think it's funny that the same people who were complaining about the David West offensive foul last night are tripping over themselves to defend LeBron here.

He also sucks the gravity right out of the building!

I've always been a big fan of Pau Gasol's game, and since the trade happened I'm glad the world is really getting a chance to see how good he is.

I think the Pistons should handle either of these teams. Boston will have played the maximum 14 games going into that series, should they win game 7, including three times since Detroit last played. And they're a fairly old team, at least their core unit. IMO, they're going to run out of gas soon, and Detroit is well-rested and running on all cylinders.

Same request as last week, this time Thunderkid & Reject will be the opposition.
-
I don't really care about the refs, I'm just upset that this trainwreck of a series is going the full seven games.

In my school, our twist on "lights out" was they had one of those big traffic lights in the cafeteria, like you may see at a novelty store or something, and just changed it to red when they wanted us to be quiet.
-
And there he goes.

I must have just sat here for an hour agonizing over this one, but eventually I settled on Mark Price, PG Career averages of 15.2 points, 6.7 assists, 1.2 steals .472 FG%, .402 3PT%, all-time leader in free throw % with .904 4x All-Star 4x All-NBA (1st team in 1993)

One thing I want to say about this series, though: Whoever wins, I've never seen the Spurs look so vulnerable against a team over the last six or so years as they have against the Hornets in this series. I know they've lost before, but with the possible exception of the Dallas series a couple years ago, I haven't really felt like "those guys are going to beat the Spurs" in any series since the '03 playoffs, until it's actually happened. I have to say, depending on David West's status, it doesn't look very good for them on Monday. I don't really have any substance behind this opinion, just a hunch.

How dare you spit in the face of Dino Radja like this.
-
Ditto. If this was last year, he would've been gone by round 3. Actually, I think I know who you're thinking of here, and if I'm right, then we have different guys in mind.

The call where Ginobili and West were tied up was pretty bad, but the other four were pretty easy calls. The ones on Chris Paul only seemed bad because guys like Dwyane Wade do that clearout every single time when they're "crossing people up" and it never gets called. But those were fouls. West smacked Duncan right across the wrists on his second foul, and the last foul was a Jordan-on-Russell level blatant pushoff. I don't see what complaints there are on those two fouls, unless people just assume Duncan flopped because it's the Spurs. Some of the Spurs may do their share of flopping, but I don't recall Duncan ever really being a flopper. Also, I've changed my tune on the Horry play after seeing it a couple more times...I think there's got to be a line drawn when it concerns getting physical with injured players, and Horry crossed it. It wasn't really in the flow of the game at all. My dad has always hated Chuck Person for this reason, with the way he played Larry Bird in his waning years. It just kind of seemed like the outrage came about mostly because it was a Spurs player commiting the foul.
-
Oh yeah, no Daniel Gibson for the rest of the series for Cleveland.
-
Oh please. Chandler did the same thing to Tony Parker the other night. Only difference is Parker doesn't have a strained back, or whatever it is West has.
-
Michael Cooper, G/F 1987 NBA Defensive Player of the Year 8x All-Defense (5x 1st team) His 3-point numbers may look unspectacular now, but he was one of the top shooters in the league for his time. Basically, I needed a guy here who can play lockdown D against 3 different positions, and who commands respect with the outside shot. Coop seemed the best fit available. Of course, I'm probably missing someone really obvious, I'm sure.
-
Well, at the time I said "tommorrow", I meant today.
-
I just wanted to say, there is one currently active player that I'm quite surprised hasn't been taken yet.
-
I'd say go ahead. Had he sent someone his pick, I'm sure it would have gotten posted by now.
